Richard, Reginald, and Lily hurried back into the hospital room. Mindy still rested in bed, but her eyes were fixated on the television.
“Mindy, are you alright?” Richard asked.
“Huh?” Mindy turned and noticed the others inside. “Yeah, I’m fine, but look at the TV!” she pointed.
The group looked up at the TV screen and couldn’t believe their eyes. On the screen, they displayed a news update where a reporter stood in the middle of the city streets, talking with an officer.
“How’s it going on your end?”
“We’re trying to handle this the best we can.”
“Shouldn’t the mayor be doing something about this? Do you have any—?”
The ground shook, interrupting their chat. Tons of residents ran away in a panic, screaming at the top of their lungs. Other officers showed up to mention that they hadn’t found Carlos. But they couldn’t focus on that, as some kind of force chased after them.
“What’s going on?” Someone cried out.
“Everyone, take cover!” Another one shouted.
The group turned, only to find a large, metallic, gray leg nearly stomping on them as the TV went static.
Once the TV went black, everyone in the hospital froze in place, as they all stayed silent after witnessing that.
“I can’t believe this is happening...” Mindy muttered, breaking the silence. “We have to stop that monster at all costs!” She roared, arching her back. A sharp pain hit the back of her neck as she slumped back in bed.
“Are you ok? You still need to rest.” Lily reminded her.
Mindy sighed in defeat as she rubbed her neck. “I know, but I can’t just sit by while he goes around and destroys everything in sight.”
“How do you know it’s Carlos’ doing?” Reginald inquired, resting his hand on his chin. “If you don’t mind me asking.”

“If that thing on TV is anything to go by, that’d be something he’d create,”
“Hey, I can try and put a stop to this nonsense,” Richard suggested. “I can also help the officers.”
“I think I’ll stay here to keep you company,” Lily added, pulling a chair beside Mindy’s bed. “Is that alright with you?”
Mindy nodded. “You be careful now.” She told him.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be alright.” Richard gave her a thumbs up and turned, but Reginald stopped him to get his attention.
“Hey, wait, are you going alone?” Reginald questioned.
“No, of course not. I got back up.” Richard motioned towards Fawn, floating next to him.
“Is that so? Well, then can I accompany you?”
“Really? Don’t mean to sound mean, but why?”
“Well, you said you planned on meeting up with the cops, right? I work alongside those officers.” Reginald told him.
Richard didn’t think his brother wanted to work together alongside him. But he also didn’t like the idea of working together with someone that tried to kill him not too long ago. Not to mention, everything that happened during their ‘rivalry’ as kids.
However, all he could ask was, “Are you sure you want to do this?”
“I know we’ve had some...” Reginald hesitated. “Issues in the past. But we have a common enemy that we need to take down, no matter what. Whatever plan he and his master could have, we can’t let them succeed.”
“I agree.” Fawn chimed in.
“Alright.” Richard nodded. “We need to hurry thou—”
The building rocked, catching everyone inside off-guard. Richard and Reginald had a hard time keeping themselves in balance while Lily tried her best not to fall off the chair. The gravity pushed everyone down as if something lifted the building in the air. Once the building tilted on the side, Mindy and Lily held on to the bed frames. Richard and Reginald slid across the floors while trying to maintain their footing.
The two slammed against the walls, a strong wind pushing them down, preventing them from moving anywhere.
“Are you guys ok?” The sisters asked from a distance.
“We’re fine!” The brothers replied. “But—”
The building rocked side to side, making everyone inside nauseous. Richard and Reginald rolled over until they fell onto the window. Their weights on this glass cracked. If they fell, especially from that height, they’d be dead in record time. Reginald looked below them and gasped. A large gray square with an orange circle in the center radiated off of the glass. Neither of them could make out what it was, but had to find a way out of there, regardless.
“Do you think that’s the source of the building moving?” Richard guessed, wobbling from side to side, and resisting the urge to vomit again.
“Yeah, maybe,” Reginald replied, trying to keep his composure.
More cracks appeared around their hands and feet. Richard panicked, expecting the worst, but Reginald kept calm and told his brother to get ready for the fight to begin. The window glass soon shattered, causing them to fall through.
