A Few Years Later
Seona looked around her in awe. The Alhambra was magnificent. Her art class had taken a trip to the fortress to study the use of light in the many rooms. As the group was making their way into the building, they passed by some ruins that were surrounded by a privacy fence of sorts.
“Professor?” she asked intrigued.
“Yes, Ms. Virago?” he drawled.
“What’s going on over there?” she replied pointing to the fence and the ruins.
“Ah yes, that,” he expelled a long sigh. “That is the latest archeological dig.”
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“What are they looking for?” Seona pressed curious.
“Ms. Virago, that is something that I could not tell you nor would I for fear your insatiable curiosity would prevent us from achieving our goal,” he snapped at length.
Seona nodded somewhat sheepishly and the professor continued.
“Now before I turn the lot of you loose, your assignment. I want you to find a room where the light illuminates the room in a certain way. What that way is, is up to you. I want you to sketch the room and show the illumination of the room as well as the shadows it creates. You have 1 hour in the building. Use your time wisely. We will meet in the gardens at the stage.”
The students stared at the professor in confusion.
“He means the Alcazar,” Seona clarified with a sigh.
The professor looked to her in surprise. Seona dutifully ignored it. Why? It would do no good proving to the professor that she belonged at the university. She turned on her heel and made her way into the fortress.
