Akira

The instant Akira had seen Grandpa Mavi in the doorway, she paniced. The only reason he would leave her brother was if something bad had happened. While she was at peace with her own death, she wasn’t at peace with her brother’s. Well, half-brother. So when she finally made it to her brother’s room she was stunned to see him awake. It’d been months since he’d been awake. Akira made her way to his bed slowly, praying that this wasn’t a dream.

“Kira, stop looking at me like I’m a figment of your overactive immagination,” Askel laughed.

At the sound of his laugh, Akira collasped. She didn’t faint as one might do in a situation like this. Instead, she collasped to her knees and let out a keening wail. It was similar to the one she had emitted the night Loxley had died but it wasn’t full of the anguish she had felt that night. She felt arms wrap around her and looked up. She found Askel on his knees with her holding her tight like she used to do to him. This caused her to renew what could only be described as caterwauling. The sound brought more people into the room but Akira clung to her brother for dear life.
