Loki cursed again as he thought about the fact that the young woman just might possess some of his power. It was absurd. Her family had been followers of Freyja for as long as he could trace them back in the annals of history, which turned out to be quite a ways. At least, her father’s family could be traced back to basically the foundation of the Empire. Her mother’s family was a bit more of a mystery. No matter how hard he searched, he could find little to no trace of them in the annals of history. Not in the Empire’s annals of history anyways. He’d yet to check the annals of other countries, but truthfully he didn’t know which country to start with in the first place. He’d not had the time, anyway, once the merry band of seven left their island home for the ancestral home of Loxley Eames. In that time, he’d barely left them or let them out of his sight. Perhaps that is what was driving the young woman away from her travelling companions. He sighed. He could use a break from the eardrum splitting screams. He made his way to the Royal Archives of all the Scandinavian countries to search for the young woman’s mother’s family. All he knew was her married name, Seona Eames. If he knew her maiden name, perhaps things would be easier. Then again, he’d never been fond of easy things. He growled in frustration and chucked the most recent record he’d been combing through across the room. He raked a hand through his auburn hair. This was certainly turning out to be far more difficult than he’d initially thought. He needed to find the mother’s maiden name as he was getting nowhere with her married name. Sadly, he had no idea where to begin looking to discover the information he needed, ok more like wanted. The woman herself was more of an enigma than her own daughter, which was saying something. The Lady Eames had been very well educated, something highly uncommon on the isles but not the wider world. The isles were at least two centuries behind the rest of the world at large. Meaning they were stuck in the 19th century technologically, medically, and socially while the world around them continued to advance. Astronomically, the people knew they were in the 21st century but they appeared to be frozen in time. It was largely due to the fact that previous rulers had instigated a rule of isolationism that the isles hadn’t advanced into the 21st century. This could be the reason Seona Eames was not in any annals on the isles prior to her marriage to Loxley Eames. He growled in frustration again. All the more reason to find out her maiden name.
