Chapter 41- Creature of Calamity

* Chapter 41- Creature of Calamity

Roen soon exited the mountain and was greeted with the sight of a massive bone dragon laying waste to the soldiers on top of the walls. His expression turned gloomier as he saw souls from the dead soldiers being absorbed into the dragon and it slowly regained it's muscle and skin. The arms and wings that were previously cut off were being restored as well.

"Hey boy what are you doing here!" A man in heavy armor and a flowing cloak was running towards Roen. When his eyes landed on the glaive in Roen's hands he nearly lost his mind.

"Let go of the weapon in your hands now! I am king Leonard, and I command you to release it this instant!!" The king was seething with rage he had to stop himself from killing the boy in front of him. The general in silver armor had caught up and looked at the impressive glaive in the boy's hand. A look of awe and anger filled the two as they both verbally and silently waited for the boy to hand them the mighty weapon.

"Ah you are a descendant of my makers! Great! Please help me this crazy boy has taken me hostage! And oh shit is that a Draconis from the Nightmare Realm!?" The once silent glaive started yelling again and pleaded the king and general.

"Boy we don't have much time! That weapon in your hands is the only tool that can give us hope in out time of need. Please hand it to me." The king was at first astonished that the weapon could speak, but that wasn't the weirdest part of the day so he let it slide. He took up a peaceful approach to the boy thinking that his earlier remarks must've scared him a little.

"Ahem, let me explain myself. I am Roen, you can think of me as a sort of hero." Roen spoke odd words and his white cloth began to writhe like snakes and take to form of white scales and four blood red boney wings sprouted out from his back.

"That form! Are you in collusion with that dragon!?" The King shout thinking he came to the right conclusion.

"This! Boy, are you really a boy?!" However the glaive gave a rather questionable response and stopped resisting Roen's grip. It had realized that Roen wasn't a boy, but a monster. And the cloak that changed it's shape was the answer.

Roen didn't answer and with the wave of his hand smoky purple boots with odd symbols and lines appeared on his feet. Taking a step Roen ditched the king and his general easily stepping over the ruins of the city. It took only minutes for Roen the arrive at the walls and look upon the rampage of the bone dragon.

He arrived on a nearby building roof and purple boots disappeared. Roen suddenly bent over and coughed up some blood! He was panting heavily and he quickly took out some bottles with shiny blue liquid in them. He emptied the liquid souls into his open mouth and his breathing stabilized.

"I see what's going on. You must've summoned the doors, and gave part of your own soul as sacrifice. Hmmmm~ you must've used quite a bit of souls as well huh." The glaive suddenly spoke and realized Roen's predicament easily. It released some of it's lighting, but the lightning seemed to miss Roen completely.

"Although you kidnapped me, you're interesting. Sitting in a cave for so long is boring, quickly now take me to bloody battles so I may drink the blood of my enemies!" The glaive pleaded and Roen silently advanced towards the dragon.

Tyor figured out that the dragon must be a Nightmare race and was evacuating the soldiers with his blood vines. Or more like he was flinging them away. Sarah had long since regrouped with the two and was helping Tyor evacuate the people. Engil was trying to get the rampaging dragon's attention, but as the dragon killed more the force and speed of it's blows changed rapidly.

Engil was screaming and wailing as three azure wolves ran about biting the dragon and dragging people away. He prided himself at how much of a nuisance he can be. However the dragon was easily regaining it's flesh faster than Engil, Tyor, and Sarah could wound it. They all opted to keep as many people away as possible, so as to try to reduce the rate at which it recovered.

"Holy Mother Karen! This thing won't go down! When's Roen coming back?!" Engil shouted out as he was sent flying by the dragon's single attack. His body made cracking sounds as the bones fit themselves back into place.

"He's on his way! Sarah said that he needed to get something from the mountain!" Tyor answered back quickly while using he wall shield to block flying debris and protect the fleeing soldiers.

"I hope he brings the mountain..." Engil grumbled as he repositioned himself and shot towards the dragon again.

Their efforts were all in vain as they couldn't stop the dragon from killing everyone. The wounds on it's body were all superficial and even the deeper ones would be mended in seconds.

"HAHAHAHA YOU WEAK ANTS! I AM FINALLY FULL AGAIN! NOW YOU THREE PAWNS OF THAT DEMON WILL DIE ALONG WITH HIM!" The dragon had finally rebuilt it's body and it turned towards Tyor, Engil, and Sarah.

Silvery black scales plated it's body giving it the feeling of an impenetrable fortress. The six blood red wings furled out and the black webbing in each of them seemed to absorb any light that touched them. It's body rippled with muscles that easily crumbled the walls it stood on. The fires that had burned so brightly in it's eye sockets spread across it top of it's face and down it's spine like a wildfire.

"HAHAHA~ Calamity Cloak!" The dragon's voice changed into a deeper baritone like when Roen casted his spells. The fires on it's body flared up and spilled onto the rest of it's scales. Tornadoes began to form under it's wings and the fire flooded into those forming pillars of flame that burned everything in their path. Clouds above darkened and lighting flashed everywhere striking randomly and destroying mercilessly. In contrast to the dragon's coat of flames the ground it stepped on froze almost instantly and threatened to turn the top of the wall into a glacier.

"Great, that's just wonderful." Engil stared at the sheer violation of nature that dragon spewed out unendingly. The walking calamity laughed as it strode towards the three. They couldn't see it's face through the flames, but they could guess it held a disgusting confidence that matched it's demeanor.

"Geez we haven't seen each other in so long how dare you forget about me so soon." A teasing voice that fit nowhere in this situation carried itself to the ears of everyone present and, a child in white scale armor with blood red bone wings landed in front of the calamity's path. He held onto an impressive glaive that screamed powerful.

"Hey, hey don't go taunting him! That one is most definitely of a royal lineage of the Draconis race!" Another voice rang out and only a few people realized that the voice came from the glaive in the boy's hand!

"Roen! My wonderful monster master, you've come to save your most loyal servant right!?" Engil was overcome with emotions as he stared at the back of Roen. He never thought he would miss a man so much in his life until now.

"Tch, you're still alive. Anyways you three help evacuate the people, they'll only serve to increase his strength and become nuisances." Roen commanded and Tyor and Sarah went right off to work. Engil, on the other hand, was sulking about how he works so hard for no appreciation.

"YOU DARE SHOW YOURSELF IN FRONT OF ME! IF I DON'T RIP YOU TO A MILLION PIECES I WONT BE ABLE TO MEET MY RACE IN DEATH!!" The fire on the dragon's body grew with his anger and the natural disasters surrounding him grew in intensity as well. Two flame pillars were sent towards Roen with the command from dragon and the lightning in the clouds seemed as if they found a new target.

BOOM!

The collision of the flame pillars and lightning made part of the walls crumble into dust. However when the dust cleared Roen still stood there without a scratch on him, and a faint gold and black barrier surrounded his body.

"A DWARVEN WEAPON!? YOU FIEND HOW DARE YOU?! Solar Calamity!" Following the dragon's chant a huge ball of fire formed above it's head and an intense heat wave engulfed the surroundings. The stones that it stood on melted the wooden structures in the city caught fire instantly and the grass and plant life turned into a sea of flame. The soldiers who were unlucky enough to stand anywhere on the walls combusted and died horribly. Tyor, Engil, and Sarah had left and were barely protecting themselves from the heat.

"Phew, some like it hot huh..." Roen barely gave any notice to the heat as he felt quite comfortable in his armor.

"YOU! STOP USING THE BODIES OF MY FAMILY!!" The dragon instantly figured out why Roen was unscathed despite using such a powerful attack.

"Hahaha~ well let me allow you to join them." Roen stabbed his glaive into the air above himself and lightning fell down in a circle surrounding the Cordias capital and several miles out. Shining runes flowed up from the points where the lightning fell in a pink and purple clear barrier rose up high into the sky disappearing in the clouds.

The runes held an incredible suction force, but oddly no one was effected by the runes. No one other than the natural disasters the dragon had summoned. From the fire pillars that surrounded it to the giant sun that rose over it's head, everything that the dragon summoned dispersed into oblivion as soon as it came into contact with the pink and purple barriers!

"THIS, HOW ARE YOU ABSORBING ETHER DIRECTLY!? THAT SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE, YOU SHOULD BE IMPLODING FROM THE SHEER ENERGY FROM MY SPELLS!!!" The dragon went nuts and as the wildfire that had once covered it's face disappeared an expression of pure terror was seen.

"I'll show you what a true creature of calamity is." Roen spoke slowly and walked forward with every word the glaive rested in his right hand and he dragged it behind him carving a deep crevice in the stone. The glaive was shining brightly almost as if it had been injected with the light of the sun, and it was vibrating ever so slightly as if expecting a grand slaughter from the one who wielded it.
