Chapter 30- Return of an Executioner

Chapter 30- Return of an Executioner

Overcoming his initial shock Russ took in the new princess. The fact that she was a aura user started to sink in as well. However when he asked what happened to her, she only gave vague answers and was clearly hiding som things. Her strength and status gave her the right to her silence. Russ gave a wry smile to the meeting of the king to his beloved daughter.

The journey back to the Higloas capital took one month longer than intended. The reason for that was that every time there was a bandit group that was terrorizing the nearby villagers Eliana would hunt them down and kill them all. Her ruthless methods further solidified the notion that the princess Russ had once known was gone, and her cold eyes that stared into those she mercilessly murdered sent shivers down the spines of Russ's soldiers.

'They were sent to protect her right?' The soldiers all had the same thoughts.

"Uncle Russ can you tell father to gather all the nobles and generals. Also send notice that they need to gather by the end of the day." Eliana turned towards Russ and commanded as they were reaching the gates of the capital.

"Yes, I will, but why so sudden?" Russ immediately accepted her command, and questioned her hasty actions. He had learned through these past three months that she had become a terrifying strategic mind and wouldn't even bat an eye at killing hundreds.

"That's a surprise for everyone." Eliana gave a slight smile in response and Russ could only shudder upwardly curved lips.

Later that day all the nobles and generals were in the royal court sitting in their respective seats. The king was seated on his throne and two similarly featured men sat on his right while a woman in a dress and three women wearing veils sat on his left. Everyone knew they were called in by princess Eliana, but the one who gave them their invitations, Russ, had explained nothing.

BANG!

Suddenly the large double doors abruptly opened with a bang and Eliana strode into the room with two men following her. She was dressed as if going to war and her two followers were similarly dressed. Her sudden appearance and attire confused everyone in the room with the exception of Russ, who was understanding her actions.

"Him, him, him, him, ......." Eliana began to point at several nobles and some generals and almost half of people in the room were pointed out when she was finished.

"Bring the minimum men required, those who resist kill them, imprison the women and children." Her words were heard by everyone and most were still trying to wrap their heads around the situation. The two followers nodded and left leaving everyone terrified by the situation.

"What, what do you think you're doing?! Do you know the gravity of your absurd words?! I'm sorry my king, but being bossed around by a young girl who doesn't even know the battlefield is not what I came here for?!" Similar cries of disapproval resounded throughout the court and the king sat there wondering why his daughter had seemed to change.

"Wait what about those two that just left she told them to go mess with our families and territories?!" A noble in silk screamed and ordered several of his personal guards to chase them down. Other nobles responded the same way as well and a small squadron of 30 men in armor to charge at the door.

Eliana, who was originally silently watching them, unsheathed her saber and slowly walked towards the charge. Everyone's eyes nearly left their sockets at her actions, but after she began to effortlessly cut down the 30 men their eyes could only be described by rolling on the floor. The court was silent. No one even dared to let out a breath of air.

"Now that that is over with to those that I pointed at earlier I will present you with two choices: one, you wash your necks and kneel in front of me or two, I have to spare some extra exercise and kill you slowly." Eliana spoke slowly and clearly making sure she drilled every last word into the heads of everyone.

"Who do you think you..." The noble didn't have time to finish his sentence before his head was rolling on the shiny stone floor. Eliana was standing next to the corpse with chilling eyes casually holding her saber. The nobles and generals who were pointed at earlier saw her as an emissary for the god of death.

"No matter if you have strength now or are the king's daughter, you cannot go killing people unjustly!" An upright general stood up and righteously protested Eliana's actions.

"Those who I pointed at are guilty of plotting assassination of me and are colluding with enemy kingdoms. If you desire more proof my men will bring it here tomorrow, but that'll be too late." After finishing her rebuttal Eliana appeared next to another one she sentenced to death and wordlessly decapitated him. The room quickly fell into chaos as Eliana disappeared and reappeared behind those she condemned dispatching everyone before they could leave.

The celebration that had been prepared for her arrival had been successfully smashed into dust. Blood painted the floor a sinister red, the men who were not targeted were standing, at the ready, making sure this volatile princess didn't make any moves on them. The king, queen, and the other sons and daughters were all stunned silent at her actions. The only one who looked the most disinterested was Russ who was currently eating the food prepared in front of him.

"E,Eliana what have you done?" The king finally spoke with great trepidation and many emotions were swirling in his eyes.

"I was just getting rid of some trash for you. Now you don't have to worry that much about them stabbing you in the back. Also don't worry about repercussions, my companions will handle their families and whoever they are colluding with will lose ground in our kingdom. If you give me some soldiers I will form a special forces division that will make countries shudder in fear when they hear our name." Eliana stated her thoughts on the matter and explained to her father. The nobles and generals who were not killed swore in their hearts to never get on this demoness' bad side. The king was at first worried about how the citizens would react, but when Eliana explained that her companions were getting evidence he cooled down a bit and ordered some men to help. He still not gotten used to his daughter who had changed so much. Even more so for his wife, who had fainted halfway through.

Russ watched the entire spectacle and thought, 'My king, you sent your daughter away to save her, but instead of coming back her innocent self, she came back the executioner you needed to get everything moving.' Russ laughed inwardly awaiting the next grand achievement.
