Chapter 17- Towards Thaolos!

The princess woke up a day later obviously exhausted from her constant cardio. She cautiously scanned her surroundings and heaved a sigh of relief when the man draped in the wolf pelt was nowhere to be found. Then she spotted a child in white robes embroidered with a striking red border and a deep red sash. As her gazed traveled up to the child's face, she locked onto his uncommon red eyes seeming to get lost in their brilliance.

"I see you're awake now." Roen's voice broke her free of her trance and a light blush reddened her cheeks.

"Good, now let's get moving."

"Umm..." The princess was a little confused at Roen's assertiveness and got flustered.

'What am I doing he's just a child.' Again getting lost in her thoughts. At first she was wondering what happened to that white figure, but came to the realization that the one who came to her rescue must've been this child.

"Umm, I'm sorry for not introducing myself I am Eliana Greystone. I am the forth princess of..."

"I don't care who you are or where you come from. I saved you because my other two servants don't know much other than being stronger than your average worm." Roen's cold tone shot Eliana down instantly and she bit back her words. The two walked forward for a couple of minutes before Eliana couldn't stand the silence.

"Why did you save me then?"

"You don't listen well do you, I need information on the current matters of this country. You are just a means to that end nothing more, nothing less."

"Can I at least have your name."

"Roen."

"Thank you for saving me Roen."

Upon learning Roen's name the first thing Eliana did was bow and sincerely thank him. Roen stopped and took a deep look at the princess.

"I was just clearing my path. Anyways put this on I don't want people to think my servants wear rags." Saying so Roen took out the emerald green robes he wore in Thistleburn village and handed it to her.

"Umm I'm sorry did you call me your servant?"

"Obviously...your life is mine." Roen's comment made the young girl's face turn a deep crimson.

"I, I'm sorry but you need to get my father's permission first."

"Anyways tell me what I want to know and guide me to this Thaolos Kingdom."

"Thaolos Kingdom?!"

"Is there something wrong."

"You're not crazy right? That's THE Thaolos Kingdom. Those monsters kill for fun, they have nearly 20 sorcerers, and rumor has it that they have a collaboration with the Lands of Sorcery."

"Perfect they sound like my kind of people. Now let's go, lead the way."

Eliana looked at Roen with even more questions in her eyes, but hiding her interest she resigned to his wishes. If he was going to tell her he would. The mysteriousness of Roen enchanted her and she wanted to see where this adventure could take her.

"Um if I take you there would you help me after your done with your business."

"You're a weird servant just take me to my destination and if you so desire to leave then I won't stop you."

"You know you're not like other guys normally they'd be all over the idea of being a princess's hero."

"There are no heroes. Just some are slightly less evil." Roen ended the conversation and Eliana went behind the nearest tree to get changed. The two traveled towards the nearest village so that Eliana could get her bearings. She tried her best to fill Roen in on the basic tensions of the 5 kingdoms as well as their standings. She had mentioned that she came from the Higloas Kingdom, but Roen only cared about the Thaolos Kingdom at the time. Surprisingly they were only a couple hours from a town that was governed by a noble who recognized Eliana.

"Princess! Where have you been the whole kingdom has been worried sick!"

"I was nearly murdered by our own kingdom's sorcerer." Giving a wry smile to the fake concerns of the noble, Eliana glossed over the matter quickly and tried to get out of the awkward encounter. She quickly left the noble before Roen said something.

Eliana hurriedly gathered supplies for the long journey and urged Roen to set off immediately. By the following morning they left without alarming anyone.

"Are we finally moving servant?"

"Eliana."

"Excuse me?"

"Don't call me servant call me by my name."

"I don't think you have the authority to command me servant. Anyways let's just go I don't have time to argue with you."

Following the exchange the two began their long journey towards the Eastern most Thaolos kingdom capital.
