Yuki Xue Shan.
Connection Restored!
‘Huh? Was it gone?’ wondered Alice, ‘But we could use our inventory though.’
The group pondered upon her words for a moment, thinking of how they’d added multiple items to their inventory, so what does it mean by ‘Connection Restored?’
Seo-Jun’s eyes brightened as he came to a realization.
‘Come to think of it…we hadn’t gotten a notification since after we formed our cores, even though we’d been through quite a lot after that’, pointed out Seo-Jun.
He suddenly recalled the absence of the sometimes annoying, sometimes life-saving appearance of a screen displaying the word ‘Notification’ in their faces at crucial moments.
The rest of the group became aware of it as well. They hadn’t even noticed it before, but thinking about it now, made them wonder how they could’ve missed it.
‘Could it be, that it has something to do with the blind spots mentioned by Ms. Yuki?’ speculated Daiki.
‘It could be…’ agreed Alice, when Snow looked up and said,
‘That is how it is. That floating screen is a product of the outer beings and anything related to them is completely blocked by the blind spots. In fact I reckon they’ve had trouble since you entered Trucehaven but since it’s powered by your soul you could somewhat use it albeit limitedly, but they must’ve been completely cut off.’
‘You can see them?’ asked Alice in surprise.
‘Only yours. Since both it and I are bound to your soul’, stated Snow nonchalantly.
‘Ah, I see’, she replied.
‘Is that all it says?’ asked Snow, tilting his head.
‘No…I haven’t opened it yet’, she replied.
Snow looked between Alice and the screen expectantly, waiting for her to reveal it’s contents.
‘Umm, before we do that, I have a question for Snow…’, said Zhiren, looking at him.
He looked up at her, signaling her to go on.
‘I assume you’d know this. We’re currently standing in the middle of a place which an extremely cold temperature, probably somewhere in the minus degrees…but none of us have showed any signs of feeling it at all. Why is that?’ she asked.
The group looked around, also finding it strange as to why it was so.
‘I suppose you haven’t been practicing martial arts for very long, huh? Which is surprisingly considering your cores look to be developing for decades. But, I’ll answer, they are the reason. Though considering you don’t even know this, it’s surprising how your body instinctively knew to protect itself with qi’, he explained.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
‘Yeah, that is what happens in wuxia and xianxia, after all’, mumbled Seo-Jun.
‘Huh? What’s that?’ asked Snow, confused.
Before Seo-Jun could explain, Alice interrupted him,’ Just ignore him sometimes, ok? He often says weird stuff like that. Pay him no mind at all’, said Alice to Snow, who obediently nodded in understanding looking away from him as a show of ignorance.
‘Pfft’. Jason couldn’t hold back his laugh after seeing the young dragon’s actions.
Seo-Jun looked at them both in annoyance and brought his attention back to the stat window.
‘Let’s check what it says first’, said Seo-Jun looking at the screen.
The other’s nodded and turned their attention back towards more serious matters, opening the notification to read it’s contents.

They all looked on concernedly as the prompts appeared one after another, causing them to become increasingly perturbed regarding what is to come.
There they all stood, in a field white. Freezing winds blowing about by its own will, uncaring of the woes of passerby’s.
Behind them was a bustling village, hidden from the eyes of the unknown beings ruling over their lives and isolated from the problems of the rest of the world. Despite the cold reception they received from the residents. They felt warmth in every corner and moment spent there.
Even though, their bodies being protected by their qi won’t freeze from the biting cold, they felt chilled to the bone as if mere seconds away from frostbite as cold sweats broke out in anxiety of the news they would receive.
The majestic mountains, blanketed by the snow, stood tall and apathetic to the future of these unfortunate souls who were dragged in to a mess to make up for the mistakes of those who had been long gone.
They stood their together, yet alone, waiting for the product of the outer beings to deliver their fates.
Finally, it was here.
It read.

‘So basically what we’re already doing’, sighed Seo-Jun.
They all unclenched their jaws and fists, slumping their shoulders as they relaxed themselves after receiving these instructions.
‘Why is it called Yuki Xue Shan, by the way?’ asked Daiki, pointing out the name stated in the prompt.
The group looked at each other, unsure of what the reason could be, but before they decided to give up Snow spoke up.
‘I can tell you that’.
