BEHIND THE SCENES: LOST IN THE UNKNOWN ABYSS
She was dragged into the light, her consciousness slipping away like grains of sand through an open palm, unable to keep it within her grasp, no matter how hard she tried to hold on. After an unknown period of time, her eyelids quivered before slowly fluttering open. As she tried to draw in a breath, she was left gasping, desperate for air, feeling as though she had emerged after almost drowning.
As she gradually stabilized, she sat up slowly. However, the relief only lasted for a moment before the heavy darkness and silence crashed down like an unbearable weight on her shoulders, attempting to suffocate her. Vigilantly, she observed her surroundings, feeling the space around her. Frantically searching, she tried to grasp at anything, as if caught in a swift river current, flailing to reach for a life-line, only to be met with emptiness, extinguishing the dwindling flame of hope within her.
She stood up, refusing to yield to despair, still striving to find a way out of her predicament. An eerie weightlessness engulfed her, as if she were floating, rendering the solid ground beneath her feet nothing more than a mere illusion. Straining to detect any sign of corporeality, she grasped at straws, relying on her sense of smell, only to be left in vain. The absence of sensation foreboded an existence reduced to that of a wandering soul, a spectral remnant of her past left behind. Amidst the chaos, the rhythmic beat of her breath and pounding heart anchored her to reality, becoming the sole assurance, a reminder of her continued existence.
Finding solace in this, she persisted in scouring, searching desperately for a way out, back to her reality, her home. In her desperation, she continued to scan the emptiness, yearning to grasp any semblance of life, even the entity that dragged her into this void would suffice. Only to be made cruelly aware that she was alone in this desolate expanse, condemned to wander aimlessly. Filled with terror, she roamed, desperately seeking release from her torment, even prepared to welcome death with open arms as an escape from this relentless void.

She, who has always lived her life steadfastly, never yielding nor despairing, found it almost laughable to be reduced to this state. But she knew she was not someone who would crumble by just this; no, there was something else. She felt a haunting familiarity to this place, as if there was something important she had forgotten, something she should never forget yet never be brought to remember.
The feeling nagged at her as glimpses of an unknown past flashed by too quickly to catch or retain. The void seemed alive, like an unwelcome invader creeping into her mind, threatening to open the floodgates or break down the dam holding back memories which didn’t seem to belong to her, of a life not her own. It gloated like a mischievous child about to make trouble, looking to unleash a truth that would finally push her over the brink of insanity. This was the looming fate she was desperate to escape. However, she was trapped here, stuck, for an indeterminate period of time, perhaps eternity.
Then, like a light at the end of the tunnel, a mechanical voice announced, ‘Loading complete, lobby closing, Player 1 is entering the scenario’.
Like a moth drawn to a flame, she regarded that voice, echoing in the space filled with nothingness, as her salvation. She did not know what awaited her, nor did she care, simply welcoming anything that would end this torturous ordeal. Without warning, the ground beneath her feet vanished, plunging her into the abyss. Falling endlessly, yet feeling a sense of joy as though reuniting with an old acquaintance.
However, one day she would wonder whether remaining in the sweet bliss of ignorance at the cost of becoming a wandering soul doomed to slowly and inevitably descend into madness would have been preferable to later facing the cruel reality springing from the truth of their existence.
