Another morning came. Eugene and his familiars had a pleasant night with the various activities Eugene set up for them. Ryuze specifically was laser focused and even requested to see the other cards to try to improve his deck, which Eugene was more than glad to help with. They were all enjoying themselves so much that the battle with Axel was pushed to the back of their minds.
When the next day came by, Eugene woke up to the sight of the familiar notification in front of him. Seeing that made Eugene look back on a previous notification he had ignored when he was more focused on Ryuze’s wellness.
300 coins have been rewarded for teaching your familiar how to play Grimoire Games.
500 coins have been rewarded for tying for the first match.
Seeing the contents of the notification, Eugene was to see that he had gained 800 coins leaving him with 1000 coins to spend. He decided to look into what to use the coins after class as he stretched his arms for the new day.
As it was only the second day of school, everyone was still adjusting to the routine of getting ready for the day. Ryuze was busy trying to get Sife up from the couch, who was sleeping even more soundly then the day before.
“Come on Sife, we are not going to do this again.” Ryuze complained. Though he seemed less grumpy about it.
The bull was snoring up in a storm, the same book still on top of his face. Ryuze looked ready to try to wake him again like before. But just when he was about to start Abdul walked up. There was little expression lighting up on their face. Ryuze looked confused on what he was going to do but before he could ask the robot butler suddenly grabbed the bull in one hand.
This finally got Sife up, as he freaks out over being held up in the air. “Whoa what? What’s going on?!”
Despite his size, Abdul showed a lot of strength as he calmly carried him to the bathroom.
“W-wait, Abdul?! Wow I never knew how strong you are. ~ Is something up?” The bull Beastman asked, trying to act casual but there was a hint of nervousness on his tone.
Abdul answered his question immediately, he himself kept his tone neutral. “Answer. It is time for everyone to clean up for master Eugene’s classes today. We must all be properly presentable or it would set a bad example for our summoner.”
“Oh, I got it Abdul now can you please put me down so I co-”
Abdul interrupted him, “Interruption. Unfortunately, we do not have time for that. This unit shall help you in cleaning up.”
Sife tried to refuse “I don’t think tha-”
But Abdul ignored him, he dragged him to the bathroom and closed the door as a bunch of noise can be heard going off.
“Wait wait ah too fast!! Hold up!!”
Eugene and Ryuze could only watch in bewilderment, taking the chance to look back at each other wondering what to do.
In a matter of minutes, the door opened and Sife walked out. He was all dressed up in his usual outfit, which was clean pressed and looking practically brand new. His body was washed thoroughly and there was even a hint of cologne coming out of him. Eugene pondered if he even had cologne in the first place since he never used one.

Sife was wide eyed and was processing on what had just happened. Abdul walked out a moment later. The bathroom behind him, despite all the noise, was completely clean and the robot didn’t look any less.
“Question. Now shall we get going master Eugene?” Abdul happily asked his summoner who in turn needed a second before answering.
“uhhh sure….”
Thanks to Abdul’s efforts they managed to make it to class in time. No one spoke, they all quietly agreed not to mention what happened earlier to themselves.
When then made it to their seats, Eugene noticed his classmates were looking at them. He felt uncomfortable with their gazes at him as he looked away and took his seat. He can see some of them whisper among themselves. Wondering what they were saying, knowing that they were talking about him just made Eugene more nervous.
Luckily for him Alphonse came by, with Ripley behind him who surprisingly didn’t give a look of annoyance but more neutral expression. It seems he really agreed to act like a proper familiar for the week. As soon as Alphonse sat in his seat, he looked at Eugene and started the conversation with a bit less shyness than before.
“Hey Eugene …. did the rest of your day go well?”
“Yeah.... decided to spend the night hanging out with my familiars.” Eugene leaned closer to Alphonse’s ear as their familiars went to their spot. “It was mostly cause I wanted to cheer Ryuze. He seemed really upset even if we just got a draw.”
Alphonse’s ears twitch a bit in curiosity. “Oh really? … what did you do?”
“I showed them all of the stuff I enjoyed. I was a bit embarrassed, but I was surprised they all found one. They seemed really hooked.”
Eugene than began to describe how the night went. How Sife slept through the night with a romance comic on his face, he wasn’t sure if he read through it or not. Abdul was fascinated with the computer games and Eugene took a peek and found that he got the highest scores on some of them and got to a high rank in one game, though the last game the robot was playing looked to be an old visual novel which made Eugene curious.
As for Ryuze, Eugene couldn’t help but show how stunned he was but also happy on how invested the Dragonoid was and was already excited for another match.
“Oh man you’re lucky. All of Ripley’s taste is too expensive for me. He wants stuff like wine and steak. And he tells me how he finds the tv to be boring and only low class would find it entertaining.” Alphonse complained, looking a bit exasperated.
“Sorry to hear.” Eugene comforted him. He thanked himself for being lucky that he seemed to get along with his familiars.
The fox Demihuman continued, “I’m glad he at least likes my collection of books that I keep around. Though now he demands that I get him some new books to read”
Their conversation continued; it was a nice distraction for Eugene from the gossip from his classmates that he had completely forgotten it. It went on until the teacher came in, which got everyone to stop.
But not before Eugene whisper one more thing to Alphonse. “Oh, still up to hanging out today?”
“Uhm…. Actually, can we hold it off until the end of the week? I think there might still be talk about that battle yesterday….” Alphonse nervously said, not wanting to give off the impression that he wanted to reject. “B-but yeah, I would love the chance to hang out at the end of the week…. if that is alright….”
“O-oh yeah sure I understand. We can schedule it to the end of the week.” Eugene answered. He was looking forward to hanging out today but understood the situation.
The sound of someone making a quick cough came from the front of the classroom.
It was the teacher, who was looking at both of them while tapping on his foot. “If you two are quite done I would like for us to start classes for the day.”
“Y-yes sir! ...” Both Eugene and Alphonse replied, hunkering down on their seats in embarrassment. Their other classmates chuckled to themselves.
Making sure everyone quieted down the teacher continued. “Now that everyone is ready, we can start on for today’s lessons.”
As their lessons started the familiars started to quietly talk amongst themselves, making sure they weren’t heard by the rest of the class.
Sife was the first to speak. “So, getting the hang with the life of a familiar yet? ~” the bull Beastman asked Ripley, lightly elbowing him.
The Hellhound had an annoyed expression but tried not to show it. He answered back. “Just cause I agreed to act like a familiar for now doesn’t mean I need to play nice with you all. Then again, since you are familiars to my summoner’s friend, I’ll at least humor you a bit.”
“Oh ho, so you aren’t completely ignoring us. That’s an improvement. ~” Sife chuckled.
Ryuze couldn’t help but roll his eyes, at the least they won’t have to have a problem with the demon beast for now.
Abdul on the other hand stayed quiet, in the robot’s mind it was already calculating the next course of actions that could benefit its master.
“Processing. Master Eugene seems to be an individual that values companionship. To that it this unit strived to play the part of a companion and partake in the recreation Master Eugen enjoys” Abdul thought to itself.
Out of nowhere it started to cover its chest area with its hand as it delves more to its thoughts. “Intrigue. This unit was supposed to participate with all the activities Master Eugene has recommended but instead this unit found itself with these video games instead”
It looked like the butler was deep in thought, the only one noticing was a certain bull who was giving a small smirk.
