"Yes, finally no more theory classes, I feel like my brain killed himself, so when do we have the fight class?"
"You mean the fighting mechanics class?"
"Yeah,whatever its name is. When.It.Is."
"We have an hour break, and at 6 p.m. we have the class."
"Yes,yes, finally an hour of rest, somebody thought about my well being, then at 6 p.m. we will start the fighting."
"After 5 hours of theory, a good rest is welcomed."
"Oh,now you believe me. I told you, school in excess is bad. After 5 hours of theory... wait...wait,wait,wait... did you just say 5 hours of theory classes, and I'm in one piece? I want a medal for my courage."
"Stop whining, it wasn't that bad, you learned new things, and..."
"Stop right there, you will infect me with your nerdiness. I didn't say learning is bad, but it's too much at once. We are 5-year-old, this much information is learned over time, not in one single day. It's torture, if we continue like that, my brain will commit suicide."
We walked to our dorm with my last power, but even then I couldn't stop thinking about some dreams or nightmares that I had recently. It's like I hear my parents voices, but they are other voices, not my parents.
Maybe my parents are not my biological parents. The scary thing is the fact that they had the same voices I heard from my first moments of life. I don't know what to think anymore, this whole thing is messed up in my head. I need to keep my cool. I will get the answers to my questions in time if what I'm seeing is true, or maybe it's just a bad dream.
We didn't talk too much on our way back, or, to be more precise, I didn't talk or hear anything, but I hope I hadn't shown it on my face. When I heard what William said, I thought I was caught, but that wasn't the case.
"Don't worry, you won't die from this, so what do you want to do now?"
"Meat..I mean eat. Yes,eat some meat. But I'm too tired to walk to the canteen. The effort was enough to get here."
"We can order and eat here in the room."
"5-star school, it even has room service."
"So what do you want to eat."
"Meat, or anything to have my energy back."
"You want a salad?"
"Do I look like I want to start eating healthy or something? And don't with a boring explanation."
To be honest, the conditions here are the best, I don't think there is a prep school like this in the kingdom.
Maybe the royal family has better conditions, but here is more freedom than there because the royal kids have to learn etiquette and a lot of rules, every move and gesture is engraved into their brain. But that's none of my bussiness, now let's see how this fighting class will unfold. I really want to know how my level is against other kids my age.
So after the meal, we walked to the fighting grounds at the back of the school. The place is surrounded by a sound barrier to not disturb anyone.
When everybody arrived at the designated hour, the class started, and the teacher, instructor George, began to explain to us what we would learn in this class.
"I see everyone is present, that means that you are interested in this class. I saw cases of kids who chickened out or were too scared to come, but let's be serious, you came here to get the best preparation to get into the Hunter Academy and become full-fledged hunters.
Being a hunter is hard and dangerous work, which is why there are not many out there. So here in the Fighting Mechanics Class, you will not learn how to be strong, you will learn how to cooperate, how to lead your party, and what your best position is."
He then, with the same serious look on his face, began explaining how a party is formed and about the roles a hunter can have. To understand it better, he gave us handouts with the hunter roles and a little explanation about them.
『HUNTER ROLES』
— THE LEADER
(He is the one who commands the team and the only member who is proeficient in all the other roles.)
— THE TANK
(He is the one who protects the team from enemy attacks.)
— THE OBSERVER
( is the one who observes how the enemy is moving and sends the information to the other teammates. It can also attack and usually tries not to get spotted by the enemy team)
Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
— THE SPELLCASTER
(The one in the team who fights from a distance with precise and powerful spells, in a professional hunter party, this is the role of the mages.)
— THE RIOT
( is the one who creates panic in the enemy team with his speed and fast and powerful attacks.)
— THE HEALER
( the one who is the most vulnerable but also the one who helps the team in difficult situations against powerful opponents by treating the teammates injuries and can protect the team with barriers if the tank can't fight)
After we received the handouts, the instructor began explaining in detail the roles, telling us that we wouldn't use a healer because none of us here have healing abilities.
From my point of view, seeing the instructor so lively with his explanation should make me happy, but I keep having this uneasy feeling that someone is constantly watching me. Maybe I'm paranoid, but even so, I was given a second chance, so I'm going to do something that will be worth telling in the future.
Following his explanation, the team formation was made by the instructor.
"After I consulted with the director, and with my coleaguess with whom you took the entrance test, this is how I decided to team you up and what roles you will have for this class.
Don't worry, in the next classes, after seeing your performance today, I will assign you different roles until I decide what is good for you. Then, without further ado, I will announce the teams."
Well, given the fact that our group has 20 people and we have 5 roles because we exclude the healer, that means we will have 4 teams. I hope I will get into a good team, I want to prove that I'm good, and I'm also curious about what role I was assigned to.
2 minutes later
Well, it looks like I'm on the second team with William and with Helen, Max, and Riley. From this first day, I can't describe much of them. Helen tried to talk to everybody from the moment she entered the door in our first class. She's the outgoing type of girl, with her brown eyes and hair and always smiling, so she might be the leader because she looks like the type to glue the team together, but we'll see.
Max was like William, the guy who minds his own business. He talked with the classmates next to him, but that's pretty much it. He was a bit massive for his age,and I'm not talking about height , he has wide shoulders, and I guess his silverish hair was what he stood out for.
And for Riley, I can't say absolutely anything, he is the introverted type, so I literally don't know if he can speak, but he has a strong presence, that's what I felt from him. About his facial features, he has black hair with big bangs on his sides, the hair is covering his ears.
After the teams were announced, the intructor said what the roles for the teams were. When he arrived at our team, he began speaking:
"Second team: The leader:William; the tank:Max; the observer:Helen; the spellcaster: Riley; and the riot:Lucas.
So it looks like I'm the riot, meaning that I need to run my ass across the entire field and throw sneaky attacks at the enemy. It doesn't fit with my frontal style of fighting, but I will do my best.
When the teacher finished with the roles, he made the matcups and told us to limit ourselves to our tasks.
After that, we gathered to make the tactic for our match against Team 1.
"Boys, the instructor said to limit to our tasks meaning we don't have to do anything by ourselves, so don't worry, I will report every step that the enemy team is doing. I would like to be on the field and have a more active role, but the instructor said that we will change roles." said Helen, trying to lift her morale.
"I will rush into their team according to what Helen tells me, and I will tell you the status. What do you think, leader?" I teased William because I saw him tensed when he heard he would be the leader.
"Don't call me that, this isn't a role fitting me, I'm not good at making quick decisions, and I'm not good at leading people."
"And you call yourself a noble, of, of, of."
"Being a leader doesn't have anything to do with me being a noble."
Actually, it does, but that doesn't matter, you just process the information and make the safest decisions, we will do the rest."
"If you say so..." he said, looking a bit disgruntled and mistrustful.
"Hey,light up, you make us look bad,you are the leader after all, and your best buddies in this match will be Max and Riley, because the tank stays by the leader's side and the spellcaster can't charge himself into the enemy territory."
"So you say, me and Riley will stay with William while you and Helen charge into attack, this sounds like you two showing off."
Man,I guess there are dense guys like him.
"It's not like that. I'm just saying that we will start by testing their defence and build from there our tactic, but if they are aggressive and if the leader is deafeted, it's game over, if we lose the leader, we lose the mach,so if our tactic works and shook them off, we will charge full force and destroy them with all of us, and to do that we need patience because me and Helen can't hold all of them back, so you 3 will need to hold the line until we make it back to support you."
"I guess you have a point," he said, visibly upset.
Probably he isn't the type to take other people's opinions seriously.
We discussed the final details and took our places. The instructor asked if we were ready to begin. Then he began the countdown.
"Ready.... 3...2...1.. go"
It's showtime.
