Last night I was so excited that I couldn't sleep very much, but I have other ways to recharge my batteries. I was waiting on the training grounds for Henry to come. Truth be told, I came here an hour early, so I expected to wait. While waiting for him, I took a seat on a bench and started meditating.
I have started to do this every day since that incident. I am trying to learn more about myself, and the saying "The soul remains the same no matter how many lives you lived" it means that deep down I have my old powers.
In my old world, every cadet received a sword, and with training, the sword began to take the shape of your soul; the sword became you, and you became the sword. And after all that training, my sword became the God of Darkness Erebus, so it's safe to say that deep down I still have that power.
Even though I don't know if that is still usable now, maybe it will take a different form or something else.
After 10 minutes of meditating, when I opened my eyes, Henry was beside me on the bench.
"Good morning, young Lucas. I didn't want to disturb your meditation, and we have plenty of time; if you are fine, we can go."
"Good morning, Mr. Blazering. May I ask where we are going?"
"Quite curious, aren't you? I said we were going to a friend of mine as part of your training. You'll see when we arrive. Now let us go."
This man is always smiling. I was a teacher myself, but I couldn't smile at every student. Well, it was an army, so we had to be strict, but how can this man be so happy about everything? I mean, he shouldn't have regrets, but every human has something dark that they hide; I had that myself.
We got in the carriage and got going. On the road, as I was looking out the window, Henry asked me something.
"Lucas, did you hear about the mages and what they are?"
"Yes, they are the second main force in the kingdom."
"Yes, but what's the difference between the hunters and mages?"
"If I recall correctly from what I read, mages are people who were born without an ability but with very strong magic capabilities."
"In essence, yes, but you heard that some of them are considered stronger than hunters; why's that?"
"Well, if a hunter can't use magic and doesn't use his ability at its true potential, it is totally possible for a mage to defeat him."
"Yes, but there were cases where elemental hunters with very high proficiency were defeated by mages."
"Well...."
"You don't need to answer; what I'm trying to say is that you need to think about mages as they are elemental hunters. It is not the same thing, but a good mage can control an element beyond what a hunter can do. Of course, there are exceptions, but those are legendary hunters.
You on the other hand, have incredible control over a numerous amount of elements, and with proper training, you will get even better. That is where we are going today, at Robert Rashlebanks, who has a school, just like me, but he is training kids to enter the Institute of Magic, the best school of magic in the kingdom.
He has an adopted son who is a prodigy in magic, and you will train with him to improve your fighting skills along with your magic as well. You will be staying in a different house along with his son Antoine, and we will come to train you, each one is his own domain."
"I thank you very much, but don't you think that is a bit too much for me?"
"I'm doing this because I saw in you something I didn't see in other kids, not even in adults. It's not that easy to put it into words; I can say absoulte confidence. The look in your eyes when you fight, it's like you experienced death before, and you aren't afraid of anything."
Oh my god, he saw through me; he couldn't comprehend that I had a previous life, but he discovered that much by just looking into my eyes while fighting. I can now understand the respect and faith the Hunter Academy has in him.
We arrived at a mansion similar to that of Henry and made our way in. We went to an office, and next to the office was a giant indoor training ground with a boy with black hair who was training his earth magic. He seemed a little tired, but he was still going at it.
"That is the boy I talked to you about; he is Antoine. Go talk to him; it will take some time to discuss with Robert, so you don't need to enter with me."

"Okay, I will go."
Then Henry entered the office, and I entered the giant room. The 'arena' to say so, was dirt with dust and sand, but the stands for the students were made of some wood I've never seen before. It seemed this place had a protective barrier around it, just like our school. The roof was like the one from a church, like a chapel, but it was open, so the sun lit this whole place up, making it incredibly beautiful.
I made my way in, looking at the architecture with golden motifs, when all of a sudden I felt a fireball coming at me from the side.
I was a little surprised, but I easily cut it in half with my wind blade, making the two halves disperse to the sides.
"You have good reflexes and pretty good magic. You came here to enter the Institute of Magic."
"My teacher took me here to improve my magic; I already have an ability, but he said my magic prowess is incredible, so I should learn it."
"Oh, so you are a hunter. I always wanted to fight with a hunter."
"I'm not yet a hunter, but I can't decline a fighting invitation."
"I like you, but you won't like me after I beat you up."
"I was thinking the exact thing."
"Let's go!!"
We went straight to each other, but then I heard Antoine say, "Flame magic, Flame Bullet". I saw a red light coming at me, so I jumped above my opponent.
"Phew, that was a close one. So you are a sneaky guy, aren't you?"
"Maybe, maybe not; by the way, good reflexes."
"Thanks, but staying directly under me isn't a good thing, you know. "Sound magic, Sonic Boom.".
"Whoa, so you can use that type of magic, huh? And an intermediate spell at that, not bad. But what do you think about this "intermediate spell, Inferno cage."
I jumped out of the way, thinking of an attack coming at me, but then I saw how I was trapped in a ball of fire.
"What do you think? This fireball will shrink until you are burned to death."
"Isn't this a little bit extreme? But I can get out of this pretty easily."
"What?"
"Water magic, intermediate spell, water dome."
With that, I summoned a water ball around me to protect myself from the water.
"And now, the final piece...Enlarge!"
"Shrink!"
In that moment, my water ball extinguished his flames, and when I touched the floor, I dashed towards him at a speed I thought he couldn't dodge.
"Gravity magic, gravity suppression."
When I was about to hit him, I felt like a force was pushing me down. I managed to plant my foot in the ground to not faceplant.
"S-so this is gravity magic; no doubt you are a prodigy, but the fight isn't over yet.
"Yes, it is, with this " earth magic, Golem punch."
"Oh shit, this is undodgeable."
I watched as a big stone hand punched me, sending me across the arena.
"Ahhhhh"
Fucking bastard, he thinks he could beat me. Now let's get up. Oh, I can't move. Come on, legs, get up.
"Get the fuck up, arhhhhh."
"What the hell is this soul power? This can't be."
"Shadow magic, shade movement."
I teleported behind him and activated my ability.
"Time for my finishing move. " Ultimate move: one hit killer punch."
"Oh crap, no, you don't. Gravity magic, pressure punch."
We hit each other and were sent across the arena by the other attack.
"*cough* Shadow magic, huh, and that soul power, it seems I'm not the only one special, hahaha."
"Right back at you, a punch made out of gravity—what even is that?"
We were on the ground, but we laughed like this was something good.
"Now let's see what our students are doing."
"Huh?"
"What in the name of God happened here?"
"Oh shit!" we said at the same time.
