Chapter 13 : More than a fight( part 2)

The battle finished with me losing consciousness while trying not to collapse on the ground. I don't know what happened after that, but when I opened my eyes, I saw a healer tending to my injuries and my friends standing behind her.

I started to mutter something to make sure that I was alive, but nobody saw or heard anything, so with the power I regained, I raised up my numb hand, trying to catch the moon.

It seemed that was enough for everyone to see that I'm okay, so my friends jumped on me and started to assault me with questions and concerns about why I was reckless, if I'm okay, and all that stuff.

I admit that what I did wasn't the most thought-out action, it was more of an animal instinct or bloodlust, but I won. It's still incredible how developed kids in this world are. If I were in my world, you could say I was at least two years older than here.

When I finally was able to get my body up, I felt the side effects of my ability, I felt like my muscles and bones were boiling. I wiped the sweat from my face and watched how the other matches unfolded.

Apart from the duels between people I don't yet know who were pretty intense, if I were against one of these guys, it would happen the same way, with my body, not with the result.

The intensity of their blows made the wind swirl up, taking along with it all my fatigue.

Those fights made me realise that I was still weak. I already knew that, but it's not something easy to swallow. You can't move mountains in a week, but you can walk them. That being said, I could've done better than that.

As for the other battles, William won, but he burned everything down, so he was in a state similar to mine; at least he didn't lose consciousness, but he lost his cautious self.

Max and Helen lost, but they were not outmuscled by their opponents, so it wasn't a complete defeat.

And last but definitely not least, Riley won, but not only did he win, he destroyed his opponent. He completely outpowered him in everything.

When the class finally finished, the only thing I wanted was to lay down in bed to tend to my injuries. I got up and prepared to walk to the dorm, but of course I couldn't do that because William and the others came to help me walk. I screamed in my mind, 'I don't need support, but even if I had said it out loud, it wouldn't matter.

I hate to ask for help, even if it is from friends. All my life, I was thought that your only ally is you.

So I was carried by William and Max back to my room, even though they were in a very bad state, but they wouldn't take no as an option.

I took the dinner in my room, and as I stayed there thinking about my future self as well as all the things that I found out: my real family, I was someone special. And my thoughts about how I didn't realise that the one to kill me would be my apprentice. I was probably too naive to believe that a noble would act so respectfully towards an orphan. Leaving aside the fact that I defeated his brother and he killed himself after that,

At about 2 a.m., when everyone was sleeping, I went to the roof again to take some air and maybe find Alpin to talk to. Maybe the roof will be our meeting spot.

When I arrived, no one was there, so I just looked at the city with a blank expression on my face. When I turned my head to the left, I saw something in the very back.

It was a metal bottle with a message attached to it that said the following:

Young master,

I'm deeply sorry that I couldn't be here today to talk to you, but as you know, I have to stay hidden to protect myself as well as you. I watched your battle today, and even though you won, you shouldn't act solely on your emotions and instincts. A warrior also needs brains, not just muscles. This bottle contains a very powerful healing potion, so I strongly advise you to use it drop by drop.

I hope this will help with your injuries and allow you to return to the battleground.

Sincerly,

Alpin.

Okay, thanks, to be honest, it was pretty bold of him to leave this here in the open for everyone to find it. Well, I guess it depends on when he left it here. As I stayed with the bottle in one hand and the letter in the other, I saw that something was written on the back of the page.

PS: I put a spell on the bottle for you to be the only one to see it.

Of course he has these sorts of tricks. He is some super hunter who chose to babysit me.

Then I opened the bottle and took a sip of the blueish liquid. The pain and the bruises dissipated almost instantly, and I felt energy surging through me; it was like nothing ever happened.

If I was so energetic, I went to my room and begin meditating to understand my soul better.

I stayed in lotus position and concentrated solely on my soul. As I went deeper and deeper, I was finally able to see the colours of my soul. How pure was it if I had dark energy. How much I had of both.

The thing I saw was impossible; my soul core was perfectly split. Half was white, half black, meaning that I had pure and dark energy in the same quantity. That meant only one thing: I had a hybrid soul. I am able to use all elements, pure and dark arts at maximum capacity. That was probably the dream of every hunter, so guess what, I can do it.

When I looked even deeper, I saw something in the middle of my core, but in that moment, my meditation was interrupted by something, and when I opened my eyes, it was morning, and William was the one who interrupted my meditation.

But after all, what the hell was that thing? It felt very familiar; it felt like a part of me, but what could that be?
