Chapter 70. Adjust(2)
This was the reason why [Blood Regeneration] took way less mana compared to its previous parts combined. The domain was always around me, no matter the case, I would be the center and the blood skills inside this domain required significantly less mana.
If I did not have this domain, the costs would be sky-high, only allowing me to use this skill when absolutely needed.
Three skills were left. [Trance], [Demon's War Domain], and [Arts of the War Demon].
[Trance] was the evolved form of [Focus], and [Focus] was not a skill that I could use whenever I wanted. I could influence it by a tiny amount when the skill reached above twenty but that did not mean I bring it up whenever I wanted.
[Trance] appeared to be something similar, the name indicated that I would enter a zone not caring about anything else and concentrating on the fight. Everything else would be ignored.
This could be a good thing or a bad thing, only time would tell.
The next was [Demon's War Domain], similar to the blood domain, it should be an AOE skill. I tried using the skill to see if it did anything.
It did a lot.
"Agh, fuck! It was this skill?" I controlled the skill and once again brought it down. The ability to feel my surroundings was due to this domain, I could perceive everything within three meters of me.
I was aware of everything around for that short duration but it was just a for a tiny bit of a second, any more and I wouldn't be able to handle it. The skill was hard to control, but it was a huge advantage in the long run.
But now, when I was unable to control the skill? I wasn't sure.
There was one skill left, that was-
"Oh? Is it finally ready?" This time I did not even need to make a cut, my weapon simply flowed out. A blob of blood floated before me, it did not transform just silently waited.
I stretched my hand and touched it, a stream of steady information flowed into my mind. The weapon had changed, it was no longer thirster.
"Shifter, Thorn." The blob shook and took the form of a sword.
"Thorn and Thirst." It dived into two, one part becoming an axe, the other keeping the form of a sword stable.
"Thirst and Thirst." The sword deformed, now turning into an axe.
"Return." It flowed back into me, becoming dormant.
The commands were limited but I knew this weapon could be much more. I had only fought using a sword or an axe, that was why those were the only forms it could but if I knew how to use more weapons.
Terrifying, unpredictable. Nothing was scarier than something unknown.
I was eager to see what else I could do with 'Shifter', my new weapon, but time was running out. I had only explored the surface of these skills, their depths, their limits still had to be made known.
The last skill was a fusion of all of my masteries. Axe, sword, Martial arts, and even dual wielding, this skill contained all of it.
The masteries were more like passive skills, they were there so I could learn from them and then use that in a fight. Trying to activate it would not work because the only place where it showed its magic was the 'Mind Palace.'
Not much had changed in the Mind Palace, the place was still plain old boring. The water below me mirrored the sky above, the only thing that had changed was the seed.
I expected to see nothing in its place as it was now my core, but I was wrong. It was still there, just not in the form of a seed.
The seed had sprouted, and a small shoot was now present. There were leaves on top of it, they were a little odd though. It was odd though because they were divided in two.
The right side had red leaves, the left side had black leaves. The color matched the scheme my classes had adapted to, but I did not know why they were divided like this.
Even my classes were now under the same section, so why was there a division here? I would like to know that but now, I was here for another reason not for another mystery that wished to be solved.
A figure formed before me, it was unarmed. The ghosts also took form and rushed towards the figure, every ghost was armed with different weapons. You could see swords, bows, daggers, and knuckle braces.
The first ghost was taken out by a punch, more ghosts rushed but the figure did not stop. He picked up the sword that was lying on the ground and started using it.
Sometimes it used an axe, sometimes nothing at all, brawling his way out with just his fists. There was a fluid pace that the figure followed, the change of weapon, the timing, everything was flawless.
I thought that was it but no.
The figure picked up a spear and started using it. Next, it used a bow, and then daggers, it was using everything that was available to wipe out the ghost as fast as possible.
The weapon did not matter, it used everything it could get its hands on. And if there was nothing, its body became the weapon and did the killing. This was a person that thrived in war, it lived in the middle of a war.
That was what a 'War Demon' was.
And I was supposed to become that.
