Chapter 43. Really
"Can you at least tell me where are you leading me and for why? We have been walking for 10 mins already."
"That's because you're slow. We are almost there just a few more steps," I didn't inform Garry of the place we were going to but instead of increasing his curiosity, I scared him more.
"Here it is," I said looking at the hole.
"A hole, really?" Garry said with disappointment, but he was relieved that I wasn't taking him somewhere to kill him.
"The thing's inside, now we jump."
"Wha-" I pushed him down the hole before he could even complete the word. The hole wasn't that deep, you would land on your feet just fine.
"What was that for!" Garry was angry and he did exclaim when I too 'jumped' down.
"Sorry sorry, but what I wanted to show you is this." I closed my eyes and pointed at the wall behind him.
"Oh."
These mana crystals should be revolutionary for a craftsman.
"My."
Imagine the things that could be made, we could possibly bring electricity back.
"God."
"How is it? Are you happy that I brought you to these-"
"These shells!!!"
"Mana crystals. With them, you could, wait, What?" I open my eyes to see Garry kneeling in front of a dead ant, close enough to kiss it and just staring at it, touching the shell.
"Yes. this shell? The strongest thing I have seen in my life, except a diamond. And this ant is big too. If I could find more of these-"
"Wait, wait, wait. Garry, I brought you here for these crystals here not a dead not. Here, look here." I interrupted his muttering and brought his attention to the mana crystals embedded in the wall.
"Mana Crystals? This is something I am seeing for the first time, but I can't use them. These shells though, you could make armor, weapons, and so much stuff."
I didn't think of that. If we were building a city, we would need a militia that would later be trained into a proper army. And the equipment they used had to be provided by the city itself.
This would make the army more intimidating and show the power of the city, all at the same it.
"Good job, Garry. After we build the inner city, start working on the armors on the side." I said to Garry in a serious tone.
"How many? And for whom?"
"Fifty for now. I'll train the people. I also need three special ones, but not made from these shells. Would be able to make an armor if the materials are even harder than these ones?"
"I haven't said this but my class is actually a Smith. Making armor and weapons is my specialty." He said with a grin, answering my question with a statement of his own.
"I'll bring more of this shell after everyone has moved to the forest."
I didn't want to let anyone else know about the eggs, for now, they were a fountain of experience and people would kill for that. So how would I bring all that material back without any help?
That was simple.
Today was the day the barrier would break.
I let Thorn fuse into me and then once again brought it back out, I tried to force mana through with it but this time with greater intensity. It hurt and I failed to break the barrier open.
Though there was a crack. 'Just a little more,' I grit my teeth tried once again.
This time a tiny, tiny amount of mana passed through and like a chain reaction, the barrier crumbled down.
I felt refreshed like I had been breathing in smoke all my life and now finally my lungs felt fresh air. Like I was walking in a swimming pool and was walking out of the water after years.
I couldn't explain it any better even if I wanted to, it was weird but a good feeling.
I looked at the ring and fed it some of my mana, almost making me puke from doing so. My vision split in two, one being normal and the other was a place similar to my mind place.
A large endless place, with a few items kept on a water-like solid surface. There was a token, a slip of paper, and some clothes?
I thought of bringing them out of the ring, and as expected, the items appeared in my hand. I kept them down and opened up the slip.
The slip had a message written on it that said, "Infuse mana when ready." So I probably had to infuse mana when I wanted to take whatever that opportunity was.
But I was a little hesitant after my last 'opportunity' was such a disaster. I still felt shivers down my spine thinking about that 'man.'
The white thing in my heart was silent, and it had only acted up during my second class selection. It hadn't meddled into anything, for now. I then tried to identify the token.
[???'s Token]
[???]
The more things got higher leveled or mysterious, the more I started to these question marks. This token, my bloodline. And the more it happened, the more I started to think that the Record was unreliable.
It is supposed to be a 'Record', where everything should be recorded but this thing almost knew nothing.
I picked up the clothes and a slip fell out from this too, opening it gave me a good laugh.
"Some clothes from me, I doubt you are wearing something clean and good. I can't have you arriving, looking like a beggar, now can I?"
"Damn old man." The clothes were fully black in color and had a few red and white patterns on it. It was like a robe, it was similar to some Asian country's traditional clothing.
China, I think but didn't know what they were called.
'I should rest, we have a lot to do tomorrow.'
