sometime after midnight Arowen was in deep sleep, and from his expression, you could tell that he was having a good dream and was happy, there was even a bit of drool dripping down his shin and a perverted smile hanging on his face, as for the content of his dream that is not for me to say but you could imagine hehe

as for what he saw, it could only be described as  rat monster, it looked to be 1.5 meters tall standing on its feet, with grey fur, long meaty tail, sharp-clawed rat feet and hands, a slender body, and big rat head, with tow sharp front teeth

it looked horrifying with saliva dripping from its mouth, but most of all it was disgusting, he kept observing it from behind the counter as it smelled the air searching for something, it looked to be alone so  he was relieved, he wasn't some novel protagonist where he could take in more than one of these things by sheer will, he needs strength to do so, for now, he was only strong enough to take it on alone with a few injuries, and he would rather not confront it right now looking at its sharp claws and fangs but as what is called a ratling smelled the air it caught the faint smell of rot still lingering on Arowen and headed towards the restaurant looking for a meal

you see guys ratling is a scavenger type of monster, it usually eats trash and rotting corpses, they are found in swamps, sewers, and such environment and eat rotting things, they carry a lot of diseases, harmful bacteria and viruses due to their eating habits as well as living environment, they are around 1.5 meters on average, very ugly and smell very bad, they are weak T1 R1-R4 (just as a reminder tier 1, between rank 1 and rank 4) creatures that breed really fast if not kept in check, they are also cannibals when food is scarce, but as the world just got integrated they are stuck at T0R1 and their breeding capabilities weakened,

so as i was saying, the ratling was attracted to the scent of rot still coming from our MC, even after washing yesterday he didn't get rid of the smell completely, and the sense of smell of animals are more developed than humans, and what we are talking about is a monster,

as it went through the door, Arowen went tense with nervousness and got ready for battle, as for the rattling it approached his position slowly as it sniffed the air, and just as it turned the corner, its snout was the first thing that was visible to Arowen and in his nervous state he attacked immediately,

Arowen did not know that this lucky shot of his was a turning point to this fight, you could even  say that the fight ended before it even began, the rattlings are partially blind and rely mostly on their nose and ears to detect food and predators, so their hearing is sharp and heir nose very sensitive, so this hit was crippling for the monster, and as it was thrashing around in pain, Arowen didn't waste any time he just continued pounding its head with the bat unlit it died, but in the process, it retaliated and chomped on the front part of the bat taking it with it

as it died Arowen felt the rush of energy, but it was very small compared to the zombies in the tutorial, he felt it only making a dent, at this moment he really wished to have an exp bar to show his progress, so after killing this ratling he observed it more closely and he was assaulted by a very bad stench

"fuck, am I cursed to always be assaulted by bad smells, fuck it smell like the gutters"

he was repulsed by the smell but kept observing it and as disgusting as it looks, something attracted his attention, and that was it two long and sharp front teeth with a piece of metal stuck in one of them, they were like two 20 centimeters dagger

'daggers!!!' as the sight reminded him of daggers he suddenly had an idea and went to the kitchen and grabbed a deboning knife as well as a heavy cleaver and went to the side of the ratling but as he approached it, he backed away returned to the kitchen and took a pair of rubber gloves to protect himself, and then he started the bloody work, thankfully its blood flow already stopped and he did not make a mess, so except from the gloves he was clean and after a grueling 5 minutes he got two new daggers, and as the root of the teeth was deep he didn't even need a handle, it was  a naturally grown dagger so cleaned the blood from the daggers and pocketed them until he heard the sound of fighting coming from outside
