Defeat the enemy.

Wave(3/4)

after Arowen finished checking what could only be interpreted as a status screen, the third wave started as if it was waiting for him to finish, but this time it was different, unlike before; when the enemies show up in front of him this time 10 zombies showed up and not only that, but they were surrounding him in a circle with him in the middle

'Fuck!! did this shitty thing just up the difficulty or is it just my imagination'

unfortunately for Arowen, his guess was true, this is a tutorial made to allow the newly integrated world to adapt to reality after their incubation period, it is in fact, a trial made to weed out the trash and to give others a chance to keep up with how fast the growth of the world will be

you see, baby worlds like earth are not rare, but quite uncommon, a few integrate every 1000 years or so, and worlds that house sentient lifeforms are considered rare, so the tutorial is a test and also an opportunity for sentient life forms, it gives the newly integrated sentient creatures quite a few boons; like the status skill which is the most important as it represents a connection to the system, and a few other advantages that are hard to describe, one of them is like a temporary boost in how much essence they can absorb, another is the affinity to energy manipulation but that is a talk for another time, in brief, tutorial time is full of opportunities and the catch is that you have to find them yourself

going back to the fight Arowen found himself surrounded by 10 zombies in all directions; that started to head his way as soon as they noticed him, and would you look at that the young man didn't even panic, no wait he is panicking but survival is at stake, so he looked around for a way out of this situation which is quite sticky, and as the zombies got closer his chances of survival got dimmer, but he stood his ground thinking of an opportunity to get out of harms way, and that is when an idea popped up in his head, a crazy idea if you ask me, but he was never a coward to begin with and he never shied away from taking risks

'all in or nothing' he thought to himself as he took a deep breath

"AAAAAAAA!!" he took off sprinting towards one of the zombies while screaming as to bolster his spirit and focus on the only way he could think of to get out of the encirclement

as he was closing-in to the zombie he chose for his crazy plan, he timed his steps carefully even as he lost some of the momentum he built up from the sprint, and as the zombie was taking a step forward with its left foot Arowen jumped and using that left foot as a springboard, he propelled himself upward while pushing the tip of the bat into the mouth of the zombie which bit on it by reflex and grabbed it with both of its hands, Arowen feeling the strength of the zombies hold on the bat unconsciously released it and continued his crazy stunt stepping on its shoulder and jumping once again forward with as much strength as he could hands forward as if to plunge in a pool, and as he almost reached the floor retracted his hands and forwarded his shoulder for a front roll, wow just wow

that ladies and gentlemen is what i call a crazy move, one that is so crazy and unbelievable that it demands  a lot of skills and our protagonist did it with little in that department and a lot of luck, i could recall so many things that could have gone wrong in that situation, the boy sure has balls to pull that off, even if he lost his main weapon, he did it and that's all that matter.

i said before that this is a tutorial a trial of sort but forgot to mention a few things related to the tutorial

the tutorial is a test, one that isn't limited to only strength and fighting prowess, you see the tutorial isn't a standard thing, in fact, every tutorial is custom made for every individual, and it isn't far fetched to say that the system searches deep inside of the subconscious of the participant, and use that as a template to make a test that is hard but not impossible to succeed in, in the tutorial one could use any available method to passe it, some could even complete it by sheer luck, by planning and scheming or brute strength and physical prowess, but that impacts the reward one would get at the end

anyway, let's go back to the story, now that Arowen was miraculously out of the encirclement *cough*plot armor*cough* he found himself stuck in another problem, the fact that he lost his weapon to the jaws of the enemy literally, so he had to find another weapon if he didn't want to go close and personal with the zombies; and risk shopping whatever disease a walking rotting corpse would carry with it, so his only option was to either get back his bat from the zombie he used as a springboard to get away from certain death or kite the small army of walking rot away from his backpack he left behind; and get one of the two big knives out and try to kill them fast

after thinking for a moment or rather not thinking at all, he chose the second option due to the fact that the zombie with a bat stuck in its mouth was in the middle of the group of zombies and the strength he felt from its grip was superior to his initial estimates, so he had to be careful as to not find himself in one of those rotting monstrosities grasp, for that would most definitely not end well for him, so the second option was the safest approach and so he did just that

after kiting the zombies away from the backpack and doing his best to trip the zombies, it took him 10 minutes to get them all on the floor crawling his way, he got his backpack and used one of the knives to kill half the zombies; before the knife broke due to his lack of expertise in cleaving zombie's heads and removing the knife that was stuck in the bone; without damaging it, but by that time he already recuperated his metal bat which now has teeth marks, and another rule got added to Arowens book

'don't get bit' and he finished the rest with the bat, one hit for each remaining zombie due to  his increased strength from what we will call from now on breakthrough, and left the last one crippled so as to catch his breath and recuperate from the exhausting fight
