ch 7

the American guy based on his accent started addressing the others in a charismatic and powerful voice, which gives you the reason he was chosen as the spokesperson for the American group and is probably the leader

"Hello everyone, I am mark, I am sure that most of you understand me as English was very popular in the older days

so I have a proposition to make, to all of us this world we live right now is no longer the same as we know,

the trials we have been through is proof of that, the scars we bare are also another proof as well

so why don't we join hands, and make a living together there is strength in numbers after all and we could also exchange resources and information with each other,

so what do you say?" Mark finished with a radiant smile

after he finished his speech which was quite inspiring and thanks god short, another commotion happened as the groups started discussing with each other, and after a few minutes it seems that everyone agreed on what to do

meanwhile, Arowen was also thinking about the next step, he was the only Arab in the 100 people from the conversation, so there is no racial solidarity with the other people

'20 people areFrench, 30 are Chinese, 60 are American, and the others are a mix of other countries, so we could say that there is a majority with the Mark guy, which gave him the courage to take the lead and speak as if he owns the place

nonetheless, his proposition is quite good, it will give me the information that I may need about the tutorial, the world and other things that could be useful'

after deliberating everyone agreed to the proposition and so people gathered together, and yes everyone had a degree of mastery of English, so mark took the lead once more, probably trying to cement his position as a leader of some sort

'This guy is dangerous I should keep a distance from him' Arowen thought, and who could blame him he watched enough fiction to have an idea of how such scenarios would play out in the future and he could feel the ambition oozing out of his whole person, this person to Arowen just screamed of a future warlord, Arowen just couldn't get the feeling out of his system, he didn't like the guy and he always trusted his guts when it came to people

"So as everyone agreed why don't we start by exchanging our experiences in that Tutorial, I know that it may be hard for some of you, I won't pressure you to speak about it as it may be a traumatizing experience

Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.

I will start first, so when I the tutorial started a hologram blue screen appeared in my vision and gave me a mission to accomplish, I hade to destroy a goblin settlement within 1 week, I found myself in a forest full of green ugly creatures about 1-meter hight, I had to struggle really hard but in the end, I defeated them and here I am standing before you

so who wants to go next"

and so people started giving short stories about what their challenge was, some gave a little more details and some were like Mark only giving a value story with no useful stuff,Arowen learned a lot from their encounters

everyone had a unique challenge that was hard but not impossible, proof of that them being present here at this gathering, the challenges were different but it always had something to do with fighting or killing and the evolution of one's self, a lot of them ranked up some once like Arowen and some twice or thrice, Mark was among the Latter but he didn't tell anyone yet,

Most of the people didn't know about the status screen until some guy around the 10th person mentioned it ad another commotion started as everyone was accessing their status screen and someone pointed out that the rush they felt was them ranking up, and then another round of questioning about the nature of what was the meaning of the content of the status screen

which unlike in the tutorial wasn't explained directly in the mind of people, which is another point, the system didn't give as much help as it did in the tutorial phase, Arowen himself tried to access the description of one of his skills, but beyond what was written in the description, which was rather vague, o sudden rush of information was sent into his brain like the tutorial, it seemed as if during the tutorial they had some premium access to the system functions

those points were discussed between the people, Arowen was keeping a low profile during the whole conversation and when his turn came, not wanting to draw any more attention to himself beside the smell he was emanating due to his prior contact with the undead

"Hy I am Arowen, I had to fight some zombies in the tutorial, nothing special happened they were as Mr. XXX said dump and slow, I killed them little by little and I am living to tell the tale haha"

Arowen didn't think to lie about his trial or his name, like in those stories, to him lying is like digging a hole and waiting for yourself to fall in it, it is better to tell part of the truth but not the whole truth, as for the name, he gave his real name as he didn't trust himself to keep the lie for  long, he was bound to make a mistake sooner or later, Arowen was a bit of a planner but he wasn't a deep schemer and his experience taught him that if you just tell part of the truth and let others complete the story from their own guesswork is viable in the long and short term

after Arowen finished telling his story he backed down into the crowd as the people continued telling their stories and as noon approached, almost everyone told his story not wanting to be the odd one out as for the validity of their adventure Arowen took it with a pinch of salt, what he got from this was a wide variety of monsters to keep watch from and those were the weakest of the bunch another thing was that not every trial was solo, some trials required groups, and some started solo and ended in a group, and everyone got a reward, in the end, be it a weapon, armor, a skill or something else, not everyone was keen on revealing what they got, even if some of them was obvious like the bow and quiver held by a woman next to Mark

anyway things got quite afterward as everyone was thinking what's next, after all, they cannot get back to there normal lives anymore
