Wave(2/4)

just as the message disappeared light shone in front of him and the smell intensified, but Arowen was already used to it, we could give him credits for the fact that he adapted quite quickly or was it the effect of surviving a life and death situation on the attitude of a human being, and there stood 5 zombies who were attracted to him as soon as they appeared

'ooh!! fuck!'

you could hear the desperation in his voice, but the look on his face told of another emotion; he was excited and a fire burning in the depth of his eyes, he really felt alive to struggle for his life, quickly a plan formed in his mind and he sprung into action, it is true that he has little fighting experience, but years of reading novel, watching movies, animes and series is a kind of experience on itself as he had references to how to act against such enemies even if they were faster than one would imagine

nonetheless, he had a plan, and so he started jogging and trying to kite the zombies into forming a straight line, it took him some time to do that even if it was not perfect, then he made a distance between him and the zombies, removed his backpack and then tossed the backpack at the zombies targeting their legs and just as he anticipated when it hit the leg of one of the zombies it stumbled and fell down to the floor followed by another two

'three down two to go'

the other zombies were both on the sides left and right of the other three so they didn't get entangled in the mess and continued speed-walking towards Arowen who didn't shy away from them, growing up he was never a coward, to begin with, so even though this situation is quite crazy for him after the initial confrontation he had with the first wave he adapted quite quickly to the situation and the fear that normal humans had for the unknown was gone, at least for now as he already killed one of them

Arowen took a deep breath as the first zombie got within striking range of his bat, and so he hit the zombie in the side of the head with a powerful blow truly worth a homerun causing the zombie to lose its balance and fall to the side and  as it reached the floor its head in a strange angle clearly broken the zombie was paralyzed as the powerful blow severed its frail spinal cord but the zombie was still not dead judging from it closing and opening mouth

next was the other zombie, Arowen didn't just stop after the powerful blow but used the momentum of the spin, planted his right foot in the ground and lunched a back kick at the second zombie causing it to fall back and roll twice then he distanced himself quickly once again not letting his small victory get to his head, he didn't forget all the movie characters who were felled by zombies thinking that they got it all under wraps

after observing the battleground he noticed that all zombies were on the ground crawling towards him except for one, clearly, the zombies have low intellect and judgment skills so he was going to note of that for future encounters

seeing that zombies were slowly crawling his way he started with the closest one which is the one that he kicked, and so got  close to it and hit it twice before it was dead and he felt the rush he had before when he killed his first zombie but he didn't lose himself in it as he did the first time and so he finished the other three leaving the one with a broken neck for last and that's when he suddenly got an overwhelming feeling as he felt the muscles all over his body squeeze against each other for a moment and loosened up, his heartbeat accelerated and he coughed a few times a foul air(grey in color), and then started sweating profusely

when Arowen wiped the sweat with his jacket it left dark grey stains on it, he didn't know what that is but he had some idea to what that is, that was impurities expelled by his body due to his breakthrough, he doesn't know but whenever he killed a creature he was absorbing a bit of its refined essence which is a type of energy every living thing have in different quantities depending on the level of its life form and when a creature is killed it is released into it's surrounding with the killer absorbing a pure small amount of it and with enough of it a creature could upgrade its lifeform level

right after his breakthrough, a blue dot appeared in the side of his vision and when he focused on it a new screen appeared

'what the fuck is this a status screen? the information is very little isn't supposed to be attributes like strength agility and other stuff, and what's that about tier and rank, the only thing that is normal is the name and skills, the status..'

when he thought about the status skill a new screen appeared giving a description about it

Status a very basic skill given to every sentient creatures upon its birth into the world, it provides the name of the creature, its species, the level of its lifeform and a list of the skills qualified to be mentioned

Martial Arts(low) the user has a small grasp of fighting techniques

cooking(medium) the user has a bit of skill in the art of cooking and could make delicious meals

Butchering(low) the user has basic skills on gutting and skinning animals

throwing(low) the user has basic throwing skills with low accuracy using projectiles

those were the most eye-catching skills he bothered to check, as for the others he didn't even bother as he already knew what they were all about and so he moved to the paralyzed zombie after he took some time to rest
