--- Three Weeks after the start of the Project Plan ---
"Important news!" An unknown messenger runs up to me and takes out a message and starts reading it.
"The walls have been breached. The Alliance of Kings has failed. I hope that every kingdom, every empire that gets this message knows to seal all paths between our Kingdoms and your own.
We hope that one day that the true enemy of the world can be defeated for the true enemy is more powerful now that they have breached our walls and taken our populace as their own.
Do not offer sanctuary to our populace. They are all infected. We, the Kings, are writing this just before our populace breaks through the front gate to kill us. Our most trusted messenger will go and spread this message to every kingdom, princedom, country, barony, empire that he can." He finishes his message, wraps it up and then runs away again.
I sit on my throne for a while thinking about a few things until I finally get up.
"Prepeare the defensive line. They are here. Send the order to all my vassals." I say to one of my own messengers and he runs off as fast as he can.
--- A week later, near the front line ---
"Pretty good job, the wodden wall is up and the stone one is half finished on this side. You all work fast." I say to the collection of nobles in charge of building and manning the wall.
"It is our honor and duty now that we know why you wanted us to spend so much of our resources on this wall. It is completely understandable now that we have had a few skirmishes with the enemy." The baron in charge of the castle we are staying at says in a confident tone.
"Skirmishes? They are already scouting our area? That means we are next. When I left I got a message that the supporting nobles are starting to send their convoys over. They should arrive in two weeks.
Can all of you hold out against them in that time? I shall help by staying here as well. Any major offensives I will take part in and try to beat back. My group of bodyguards aren't weak either." I look over the nobles and all of them have determined looks on their faces.
I look at my 'bodyguards' aka Viv and the rest. They basically are an entire army together.
As I was just about to finish up this meeting, a soldier opens the door and lets in a messenger.
"Our surveyors have spotted a decently sized enemy army heading towards this castle! They will attack the portion of the stone wall currently in production. I think they are trying to stop us while taking some land while they are at it." The messenger says everything and then goes to the side of the door while bowing.
I dismiss him and tell him to rest as I see he is fairly exhausted.

"Well... You heard the messenger. I guess it's time to show that we are not somebody you can just stop or take land from." I stand up and so does my group, who were sitting near the side of the room.
"Viv, if you'd get my half-cape." I ask and Viv immediatly runs off to get it.
In this Empire, the Emperor is required to wear the royal cape to battle and whoever hands it and puts it on him is usually one of the most trusted members of the Emperor's Guard or one of the Emperor's Trusted Aides.
Viv returns with my red-violet-golden half-cape and helps me put it on.
"To the front line we go. What about you, nobles of this land?" I ask them and they all stand up.
"We shall return to our fiefs, gather our troops and immediatly set out to assist you." They say and immediatly leave.
--- A day later, at the section of the wall that is going to get attacked ---
"The Workers have been evacuated safely." A Count says to me while looking at the plains where the enemy army is supposed to be coming from.
Two hours later, the enemy army is seen on the plains.
"I guess they weren't wrong. I won't be directly assisting in destroying this army as it doesn't seem to be too terribly big. And I also want to see how powerful my troops are compared to the enemy." I say as I sit down on a chair brought for me by a regular soldier.
The Emperor is actually never meant to be anywhere this close to where the battle is supposed to be held. Not even the Brave Emperor had done this as it's too dangerous.
I wait and wait and finally the enemy army reaches the range for our crossbowmen and regular bowmen.
"Release!" The count says and all our ranged soldiers, including the catapults and such, release every single projectile they have.
The sky is covered in flying boulders and arrows.
The first volley absoloutely decimates the enemy army as most of our ranged soldiers had been hiding so they weren't seen.
The enemy army takes up a stance for protecting against projectiles.
It takes half an hour for the enemy army to reach melee range and they hadn't brought a single cavalry detachment so they were pure infantry.
If they did bring archers, they were killed in the first volley.
"Infantry! Charge! Cavalry, Flank and Hit&Run tactic!" A Viscount in charge of the Infantry and Cavalry.
"Archers! Direct fire into the center ranks of the enemy! Make sure to hit as few of our own as possible!" The Count in charge of the archers shouts out.
And so began the brutal melee.
The flanking tactic of the cavalry worked pretty well for a while until the enemy started to get used to it.
"Hmm... It looks we are evenly matched. But it seems their troops have more strength and ferocity than ours. Seeing as not even one of them has shown any signs of hesitation yet." I say but I actually know the reason for it as well.
"I'll assist a tad. We are going to lose too many troops if this keeps on going." I say as I stand up and go to the edge of the wall.
"Earth Magic: [Iron Spike Wall]" I immediatly cast a spell that splits the enemy army into two while also impaling everybody who was in the location of the wall.
"Fire Magic: [Restricted Fire]" I send out a fire spell that only targets people I see as 'enemies' instead of the usual kill everything in that location.
I sit back down and in five minutes the entire enemy army is surrounded and executed.
I look back at the battle for a bit and think.
"Our army can hold their ground if they use the wall. Which means this was either a really weak detachment or the enemy is weaker than expected. Well, there are the elites of course but I will handle those if any pop up." I say to the collection of nobles who were waiting for me to say something.
I get up and look at the nobles.
"You did great. I will head back to the capital for a while and help set up the convoy routes and such. I shall return to the front lines the instant I think we can start pushing the enemy back into the pits where they thought it was wise to crawl out of." I look at the nobles with a smile on my face.
I then jump off the wall, get into the carriage meant for me and the select members of my group and then order the driver to head towards the Capital.
