Chapter 16. Meeting the 'Crew'

Chapter 16. Meeting the 'Crew'

I look at the row of people bowing...

They keep bowing for a whole three minutes until the Gentleman stops bowing and goes behind the counter and grabs something...

I'm still as confused as ever...

The gentleman returns and hands me... A certificate of some kind?

"Sir... This is the certificate to become the Guild Master of our Guild..." (Gentleman)

I take a look at it and it only says that all property is signed over to the holder of the certificate and then the Guild Name...

"The Treasure of Joy..." (Colin)

They all look up the moment I say it.

I take a deeper look at what the Property is as it lists a whole bunch...

In it are all the names of the people bowing infront of me and probably the gentleman's aswell...

I look at them and then back at the certificate...

Indeed, all the names that they called eachother are in here...

"Are you guys by chance... Slaves?" (Colin)

It seems I hit the mark...

"So that explains the desperation... You'd be found and sold again, wouldn't you?" (Colin)

They all nod at the same time.

"Guess I'll help you guys since I did need a new home ever since I left... That place..." (Colin)

They all raise their head and look at me happily or surprised. Mostly surprised.

The gentleman comes to me and shows a small line at the bottom and gives me a weird-looking pen...

"Write your signature here and you will become our official guild master." (Gentleman)

I write my signature and then the contract dissapears.

Luckily there was no terms and conditions that I was forced to read... Or any at all.

They all rejoice after seeing my contract dissapear.

"What are your first orders, Guild Master?" (Gentleman)

"Getting you guys back up and running, that's my first objective... I don't think I'll need to tell you guys what your first order is?" (Colin)

They all nod and run off.

The gentleman comes back after a while.

"I forgot to mention before but the Guild Masters room is upstairs on the left. We still haven't cleaned it so... I hope it isn't too messy." (Gentleman)

I nod and he leaves and I go to the guild masters room.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

Everything is in order and nothing is out of place... Is my first thought looking at the room.

Everything is so neat in this room.

I walk to the chair and table that is filled with papers and I take a look at the papers...

Debt. A lot of debt.

"What the hell happened to this guild... Half of these papers are debt. The other half are just business contracts...." (Colin)

I sit down and look at these papers until I remember... My status, has it changed?

Status Name and Race: Colin Tyccus Human Race Bonuses: Less XP required to level up More rare drops from mobs Level and Soul Level: Lvl. 156 Lvl. 190 Jobs (Classes): Expert Warrior Expert Mage Titles: First of the Human Race Pro-Gamer The Rituals Enemy Nephilim's Student Guild Master Title Bonuses: Faster learning of different languages. Pro-Gamer's Mind (Calm and Collected) Instinct for the Forbidden Increased Stats Control over the Treasure of Joy guild Abilities: [Mimick Sword Style] [The Six Elements] Stats: Strength: 25600 Magic/MP: 30500 Agility: 36000 Intellect: 95030 Dexterity: 35010 Stamina/HP: 90500

Well... The only difference is my intellect went up by 30 ponts and I gained a new title. I'm still as OP as ever... I should honestly thank Beneqith who is a lvl 200 warrior for training me... And for a few mages from Sanctuary dropping by and helping me.

I look at the Instinct for the Forbidden bonus and open it's description...

The Instinct for the Forbidden

Description:

The Instinct for the Forbidden immediatly tells the owner of the bonus if a Ritual or any forbidden magic is being done around his immediate area in the way of instinct.

This bonus comes from the title of "The Rituals Enemy"

Yup... This one has not changed one bit even though all my other bonuses change constantly either giving or making their own bonuses bigger...

I hear a knock on my door and immediatly close my status and I go and open the door.

It's the woman named Liliana who is holding a bunch of papers.

"Here is the list for all our cargo. It's quite big but I had to make a few... Changes... Since we sold quite a lot to survive until you came along." (Liliana)

"Thank you.. Liliana was it?" (Colin)

"Wait... We never introduced the guild members to you and you didn't introduce yourself to us right...? Guess our slave training kicked in again as not to ask for your masters name until given..." (Liliana)

"Ah... There is that. I guess I forgot about it aswell... I don't have much in the way of common sense anymore. My name is Colin Tyccus, yours?" (Colin)

"Liliana La Larendell, just call me Lily for short... The others refuse because I used to be a member of a noble house." (Lily)

"Used to?" (Colin)

"We were... Eliminated from the race of the nobles... Thoroughly. I'm quite certain I'm the last one alive from my family..." (Lily)

"Well, consider everybody here as your new family if you already haven't. I'll get the others names when they come in here aswell." (Colin)

Lily bows and then leaves just as the Vivian comes around.

This repeated until all the members came to me with different papers either about cargo, trade routes and so on.

The names I have learned are...

Liliana La Larendell,

Vivian Meridallen,

James Kaolotu,

Tiron "Gentleman" Kopporin,

Ann Fowler,

Douglas Carey,

Uison Oppersson,

Percithon Nepri,

Mei Aeiro,

Waiqe Makah.

All of these namess are either absurd... Or too familiar.

I look at the absoloute mountain of papers I need to go through...

I really shouldn't have accepted the guild master job but I need information about the war in detail and that's impossible I think... I also need a home which I just got and I need something stable that can get my name out there...

This guild is a merchant guild that can, if big enough, make a branch for an adventurer guild and another branch for something else...

It'll all work out if I am careful enough but if somebody messes with my objectives I will crush them personally...

Well I set my first objective for the guild but my personal first objective is... Information about the war.

I start going through the mountain of papers.
