Another World and I'm still rich?
Chapter 34. Towards the last option.

Chapter 34. Towards the last option.

That morning we quickly leave L'Aminne since the guards apparently got a hint that the killer might've been one of the newcomers to the city.

Luckily, thanks to Silan, we were all prepeared to go towards Hjalionia, the last option we have.

"Phew, finally out of that city..." Vivian says relieved.

"What do you mean?" I ask with my eyebrow raised.

"The people in that city were tenacious. They wouldn't lower the price by even a single coin." Vivian explains to me.

I laugh and then we keep moving towards Hjalionia.

(It's... Still... There...)

I get up from the driver's seat and point my finger at the dragon.

"Ice Magic: Ice Bullet." I send a bullet towards it.

The dragon easily dodges it but doesn't do much after that except just fly around even more.

(This... Bastard... Is it making fun of me? Stalking it's prey?)

I get back to the driver's seat and speed up the cart a tad while keeping an eye on the dragon.

We ride for days but still no village in sight.

"We are definetly going towards the right direction... The map also says there are no villages on our path but why?" I try to figure out this puzzle but to no avail until I spot a caravan in the distance.

I go up to the caravan and see that there are about 40 guards with it, all on high alert.

"Who goes there!" A guard asks but the others don't move an inch from their spots in escorting the caravan.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"Merchants. Going towards Hjalionia." I answer truthfully.

The guard looks at me like I'm stupid.

"Are you stupid!? Or are you new!? This road has wild beast herds run through it! Get yourself a few guards after you head back to L'Aminne!" The guard shouts at me.

I laugh a little and then go past them and actually see a herd running towards us.

"Silan, I'll handle this. Take the reins and keep on going at the same speed." I hand the reins to Silan and jump out towards the herd.

"Sword, magic... Sword or magic... Sword... Magic it is!" I finally decide which one to use in defeating the herd.

"Earth Magic: Spikes" As I finish casting the spell, the area where the herd was is now just a field of spikes with a dead herd ontop of it.

I dispel the spikes and they all dissapear into the ground, leaving the dead herd on the ground.

I jump back onto the caravan and take the reins and go through the herd with the other caravan closely following us.

One of the guards runs infront of our caravan.

"Our Lord wants to speak with you." The guard says with a threathening voice.

(Really? You are trying to threathen a person who just wiped out a herd of beasts in a split second? REALLY?)

"Move or die. Your options." I say in an equally threathening voice but he instantly moves.

(Must've been my smile. Definetly not the fact that I just wiped out that herd.)

We keep going towards Hjalionia and we started rationing our supplies at about half-way when we noticed we won't have enough otherwise.

The other caravan rides right behind us the entire time.

Every herd we met on the way was dealt with me.

(Ok so far I've used... Only Earth Spikes. I don't want them to know any of my power but It's getting annoying using only one of the unlimited amount of spells I have. I also can't just kill a lord if I don't know his personality. Yet. I might kill him later on though. It all depends on how corrupt the person is.)

A few more days of riding and I see Hjalionia in the distance.

Our supplies are almost out so It's good timing.

Both of our caravan's had enough food to only feed our own so we couldn't share at all.

I honestly expected that there would've been one village somewhere near the round we could supply at and that's why I didn't worry that much but... The map was right. There were no villages anywhere.

Only beast herds. A lot of beast herds.

(The food from those beasts was unedible to everybody... I know since a guard said to me when I started to cook one.)

Just two more hours of riding and we reach the gates of Hjalionia.

The gates of the last option and the last hope.

Thirty days of riding from L'Aminne to Hjalionia with this caravan right behind us.
