76. BullRoc (II)

Many looked to the BullRoc in the hopes that it wouldn’t do it again, and when they saw the sizzling energy dissipate from its body, they tensed and waited. It was a long silent wait, for no one knew if it would send out a massive attack again. But as seconds tick by, the BullRoc did not send out another, bringing relief to the people.

Everyone on the field regrouped, realizing that the final battle was near. They clashed, head first to take down as many as they could. Monsters were torn asunder; people were blown apart from the magical arrays.

BullRoc bellowed a hearty deep voice, motioning the Gem Beast to move in a more unified movement. This caused the fight against the Gem Beast to become a lot harder than before.

Even Snow was struggling as she was quickly surrounded. The Gem Beast would rear its ugly head in to take a few nasty bites at her but quickly pull back, snapping her attention away.

“Stay still!” Snow yelled, getting annoyed at their bait tactic that it was getting old fast.

The Gem Beast kept mostly the higher Players and Hunters in a caged standstill, while they ran in to take out the rest of the weaker people who were having a rough time.

With frustration, she summoned her light blades again, but this time it was three times more than before.

Snow’s light sword flew through the air, stabbing into the Gem Beast. Some fell, others stumbled because the light sword slashed at their legs. Not many fell dead, but it gave the other players a chance to attack.

The Players shouted and stomped, throwing in their magical skills at the downed Gem Beast.

Snow was a bit surprised at the sudden surge of Players that came in to support her from behind. She was too engrossed in the battlefield to notice that they were paying attention to her.

The Players moved like water, moving with the flow of the battlefield. They all quickly formed around the Players that brought more death or efficiently suppressed the Gem Beast down to allow them to work together.

Tommy and Tamaki didn’t need much help as they had to now hunt the Gem Beast down. The Gem Beast grunted and shouted with one another, telling that these two beings were someone to steer clear from. This quickly changed the flow.

The BullRoc shook his head, grunting in a loud, chattering voice. Its tactic keeps changing, giving a headache to many of the Players below.

Tommy and Tamaki gave up chasing the other Gem Beast and instead focused on the BullRoc before them.

“Finally!” Tommy laughed out loud, looking at the BullRoc before him with his large bastard sword in hand. He swung it overhead, bringing it down. “This is going to be fun!”

Tommy wasn’t going to let the monster before him escape, mainly because he was getting tired of chasing the Gem Beast to have the fun that he wanted.

“Pay attention!” Tamaki yelled, he swooped in from the right, blocking the BullRoc’s claws with his sword. Upon impact, it let out a sickening screech that hurt his very ear. He had to pull back to allow himself to reset, or he was going to fall.

“Sorry. Sorry.” Tommy rushed in, swung his sword as the BullRoc stopped his massive attack overhead with its tusk. It barely did anything, only leaving Tommy grinning from ear-to-ear.

“I can’t get enough of this,” Tommy laughed, stepping back as he dodges the whip of the tail.

Tamaki leaned forward. His sword in his sheath, with lightning-fast pull, his sword sliced through the air cutting off the tip of the BullRoc’s horn.

In anger, the BullRoc retaliated that its horn was a bit destroyed. Static energy formed on its horn, bringing with it a massive amount of electric power.

Tommy and Tamaki felt danger, pulling back from the BullRoc’s position.

The BullRoc screeched; a powerful pulse of electric energy shot outward in a rippling effect. Any stragglers who were too close to the BullRoc vicinity were stunned as they collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Tommy and Tamaki used their sword to stick into the ground, causing the electric energy to form around it. It lapped up the energy, powering it up with excitement.

“Delicious.” Tommy, who had his hand on the bastard sword, had a full brunt of the attack. “That just gave me enough juice to do this!”

Pulling the sword out of the ground, he swung at the BullRoc. A powerful fire energy escaped outwards like a tornado, wrapping around the BullRoc.

Tamaki, too, followed after, the charged sword empowered his energy, allowing him to summon up his spirit. The oni-like spirit wrapped around his body, giving him strength and speed. He dashed across the ground, striking the BullRoc in rapid succession.

Both their attacks were formidable, the Players who weren’t entangled with the Gem Beasts momentarily stopped to watch with awe at the two B class fighters before them. They cheered at the two’s power, excited that they might be able to win this fight without much help.

The wind blew, pushing away the cloud that they had formed around the BullRoc itself. Both Tommy and Tamaki waited, scoring for any possibilities that they had.

Stepping out from the dusty clouds that swirl around its body, with cuts that weren’t any deeper than a light cut, the BullRoc snorted. It brushed off the attack as if it was nothing.

“What the hell?” Tommy was confused at how easily the BullRoc ate their attack as if it barely did anything.

“I don’t like this,” Tamaki replied, carefully watching, knowing full well that the monster in front of them was named.

“This little puppy isn’t listening.” Tommy mumbled, “it needs a stronger discipline.”

Tommy stepped forward, his sword waved his sword, going after the BullRoc once again.

The BullRoc seemed to heave, almost as if it was laughing at Tommy’s weak effort. He caught Tommy’s attack effortlessly.

“Oh, you kidding me.” Tommy gritted his teeth, pushing into the BullRoc harder with all the power that he had left. But even then, the BullRoc didn’t give way; instead, it threw him aside like a ragdoll a few feet away from Tamaki.

Tamaki let out a yell, swinging his sword in a blitz. The BullRoc glowed blue, sending out an electric thundershock that zapped Tamaki with full force. He faltered, unable to move.

BullRoc snapped its tail, smashing into Tamaki’s side, throwing him across the field. Tamaki groaned, coughing up blood.

Snow saw the two fight head-to-head with the BullRoc in front of him, she too knew that she couldn’t just stay here only fighting the Gem Beast around her. She needed to assist in slaying the BullRoc that had the crystal orb on its chest.

When she saw both Tamaki and Tommy thrown, she dashed towards the BullRoc.

At the same time, the BullRoc stomped over leisurely towards both Tamaki and Tommy, attempting to destroy them with one hit. Electric energy sizzled around its hand like fireworks. It raised its arms and shot a blast of energy at them.

Snow dashed in front of the monster; her hand raised as she summoned up a light barrier to block the electric magic. It hissed and sizzled, catching the BullRoc off guard. It stumbled backward from the unsuspected blast of an energy wave that pulsated out right after hitting it.

“Get up.” Snow shouted, knowing full well that they were able to get back on their feet any moment now. They weren’t as badly hurt but still were dazed from the static attack.

“God damn it,” Tommy swore, he was angry that he was knocked back so quickly. “Who thought this crap could throw a kick.” He pushed himself up and shook his head.

“It’s what you ask for,” Tamaki replied he was already up before Tommy. He drew his sword in front of him, rolling his eyes.

The BullRoc body started to glow blue, letting out a steamed breath. It lowered its head, ready to go ram into Snow’s barrier. With a grunt, it charged.

Alarmed, Snow knew that her shield wouldn’t last against a second attack. Which also would cause her an extensive amount of energy if she even did try. This was not something she wanted to do, pulling away from the barrier. She grabbed Tommy by the cuffs, throwing him over the shoulder while kicking Tamaki out of harm’s way.

The BullRoc charged at the same time, barely passing by with static electricity going off crazily. The static tagged her right leg, stunning her. It locked up.

“Argh!” Tommy shouted half of his beard was almost burnt off his very face. He wasn’t thrown too far, but still had a bit of cut off. He scrambled backward, thanking Snow for pulling him out of the way before he got trampled upon. “Holy shit, that was close!”

Tamaki wasn’t pleased that he was kicked by Snow, but he was grateful for being kicked away

from being run over.

“Another charge incoming!” Snow yelled, she tried to shake her leg to get it to work again, but it wouldn’t listen. Her heart palpitated, knowing that she would be crushed.

The other Players that were nearby joined in on the fight, trying to get a hit in when they saw the three down. They wildly swung their blades and arrows in the hope to get the last hit.

“Move out the way!” One of the excited Players rushed in, firing off magic one after the other.

The BullRoc let out a series of angry yells, firing off an electric shock that stunned the surrounding.

Tommy scrambled onto his feet, he grabbed his sword and threw it over his head as it smacked the side of the monster, causing it to stop its attack. It’s power momentarily faltered, sending shockwaves everywhere.

The Players were hit, stunning them in the process. They collapse, unable to do anything, but watch.

With a Slam of its tail, it thumped onto the ground. The ground trembled, blue energy zigzagged on the floor, and spread out like lightning bolts, hitting more and more.

Dairen and Mike saw the carnage that the BullRoc caused; they too rushed into to help.

“Get Back!” Snow shouted, but it was too late.

Another Blast of energy shot towards both Mike and Dairen. They both jumped out of harm’s way not to get fried.

Once again, the BullRoc charged, it ran over the other Players near its vicinity, throwing them up into the air.

Mike threw a rope, lassoing it around its horn. It thrashed and kicked, trying to get him off. He held on for his dear life, flying through the air like a flag. It stopped, throwing Mike over its head. Dairen tried to throw in its hits but was unfortunate enough to be tossed aside.

Angered that it was being played for a fool, a powerful surge of energy grumbled in its body.

Snow instantly knew this feeling. It was a feeling from the time it attacked the very wall. It was charging up quickly, not allowing anything or anyone to get near as a force field of electricity

widely sparkles around it.

Then she saw Dairen, who was on the ground.

“Dairen!” Snow blitzed towards the oncoming attack toward Dairen. She appeared before him.

Her hands outstretched in front of herself, entwining magic into a thick barrier over and over again. She poured everything she had into the very core of her magical shield. Until finally, she had no more.

Already, she could feel the wash of energy devouring her, beating down on her body like a hungry demon, waiting to swallow her whole. In a blink of an eye, the barrier shattered. Her eyes became wide, realizing what this meant. The energy beam sliced through her chest, puncturing her lungs as the residue around her cut her skin like paper.

She stumbled, unable to do anything but stare in shock.
