Snow was in a room filled with Priest, priestesses, and even players who wanted to learn the skill of Resurrection. They all bustled around the small room, waiting for Snow to start the class. Everyone was excited to learn something new that could revolutionize fighting. Especially finally being able to conquer death.
With a clap of her hand, Snow drew attention to her.
Everyone went silent.
Snow cleared her throat. “You all came here to learn a valuable skill that will change the course of history. In the past, I have worked with other healers to teach in learning Resurrections, but it has failed.”
Even last time, when she had personally worked with other healers, it did not work. But for some reason, Snow had a feeling that if she taught them now, it would succeed.
One of the players raised their hands. “What is different from last time than now?”
“The Sacred White Tree.”
“You mean the tree that is growing all over the city and the giant tree?”
“Yes.” Snow nodded. If it wasn’t for the tree, she wouldn’t have even thought about attempting it a second time. “As you can all feel it in the air, there is an extreme amount of light magic in the air. This should be the catalyst for the resurrection magic.”
“Would we be drawing light magic?”
Snow nodded. “You as a magic healer with the one to siphon a large amount of light magic to use to do a resurrection. But there are rules to resurrection.”
“They are?” One of the girls asked out of turn.
“One. A completely damaged body can not be used for resurrections. If they are missing half their body and no organs, resurrection is impossible. To get around this, one needs to first fully heal the body to its prime before drawing the soul back into the body.” Snow pointed out. She was able to do both simultaneously, making her one of the most sought healers of all times.
“Secondly, you can not resurrect a body with only bones or a body that has been completely disintegrated. Creating a body out of thin air is impossible. Also, death by old age is not possible. The body has expired and can not continue to host the person's soul.”
“So, I can’t resurrect my grandparents when they pass away?” One of the priestess asked.
“That is correct.”
The priestess let out a heavy sigh.
“The last point is that resurrection needs a massive amount of magic, mental fortitude, and the willingness to will the soul back into the body. Not all souls will want to come back. I assure you of this.”
To hear the last statement surprised everyone. Nobody would have thought there were people out there that didn’t want to come back and live again.
“Each one of you, please stand in a single file line. I will need you guys to come forward and sit in front of me. We will practice using a dead mouse to resurrect the dead as it consumes a lot less magical energy than something bigger or mentally complex like a human.”
Snow took a seat on the floor. A man brought over a box of dead mice that had been previously killed and placed it next to her. It was still fresh as these mice were dead less than an hour ago.

The first to come up was a young woman, a Player. She giddy walked forward and stopped in front of her, and sat down in a hurry. Her back was to Snow. Snow pulled out a dead mouse and placed it in front of the woman. Flinching from seeing the dead mouse, she almost squeaked in fright but controlled herself.
“Close your eyes.” Snow instructed. She raised up her hand. The swirl of magic was slowly appearing around her hand. “I will direct the magic into your body so you could feel how the magic will flow into and through you.”
The woman nodded her head.
In a commanding voice, Snow spoke, “Resurrection.”
A powerful swirl of magic swept into the women. A pleasant sigh escaped her lips, but at the same time, she furrowed her brows, trying to grasp the power of what she felt in her hand.
Snow eventually pulled back her magic.
“Now, it's your turn.” Snow directed.
The women-focused. Her hand over the dead mouse. Swirls of magic started to form around the mouse until finally, she spoke. “Resurrection.”
Silence descended on the crowd, watching and waiting for what would happen next.
A few seconds pass, then a minute.
People started to get disappointed that the first trial might not be a success.
But Snow could tell that the woman was barely keeping the magic she had in control. The powerful pull of light magic surrounded the mouse until, finally, a squeak of breath escaped its lips.
“Congratulations.” Snow smiled. She was relieved this time it had succeeded. “You have resurrected your first patient.”
A wide smile erupted on the women’s lips. Eventually, she burst into tears, happy that she was able to resurrect a creature.
Snow waved her hand, calling for someone to take the woman off her hands as she needed to move onto the next person. She didn’t know when the next wave would start, and time was of the essence.
“Next!”
The next person walked over.
For the next four hours, Snow had worked with over thirty people. Twenty-five people had the aptitude to resurrect the dead successfully on the first try. While the rest could not summon up enough energy to control such a powerful spell.
Even still, every one of them understood the basic principle of how to use resurrection. Snow was relieved that she was able to help so many people. This amount of people who could do what she could do was a turning point in history.
Snow got up and stretched. Being in the sitting position for so long had crammed up her leg. She was glad the first class was over.
It has been a long time since she had exhausted a large portion of magic, using it over and over again until they got it. For the people who weren’t able to learn, the resurrection still had vastly improved in magic.
Bursting through the door, Angie came in breathing heavily.
“Master!” Angie yelled. She came over and slid on the ground in front of Snow.
“Angie?” Snow was shocked to see her. Even though they worked together on and off, she rarely got to see her because of work.
“How could you not tell me you were sharing your Resurrection skill?” Angie got up, weeping in front of her.
Snow coughed, embarrassed that she had forgotten.
“You forgot about me.”
“Well. I…” Snow looked away.
“You did.” Angie mope, her eyes becoming watery.
“I thought you were with Rodney more these days.”
“I was, master, you can’t change the subject.” Angie pouted. She placed her hand on her hips. “I want to learn Resurrection skills too!”
“Okay. Okay.” Snow quickly replied. To forget that Angie had become her follower and not to teach such an important skill. Even though she had failed to learn the resurrection skill the first time she attempted to teach it on her day off, the skill still failed.
Snow patted her hand in front of her. “Sit down with your back toward me.”
Angie scuttled over in excitement. She plopped down, humming in happiness.
“Close your eyes, and I want you to feel the energy that I will pour in you.”
“Okay.” Angie did exactly what she asked for.
Snow took a deep breath. She steadied her mind and concentrated. “Resurrection.” Snow replied. Pulling magic wasn’t difficult, but the concentration of keeping such an advanced skill took a toll on her mind.
At first, the magic swayed away from her grasp, making it difficult to focus. Eventually, the feeling quickly came back, allowing her to pour magic into Angie’s body. When the spell ended, Snow pulled back and took a dead mouse out from the box. Placing it in front of Angie, she spoke. “Resurrect the mouse.”
Angie opened her eyes. She sparkled with excitement, realizing that she could now use the magic: Resurrection. But it took a moment to register what Snow had asked. She looked down and froze. “A mouse?”
“Yes.”
“Ah…”
“What are you waiting for?”
“Nothing!” Angie spoke up. She quickly brought her hand up and placed it over the mouse. “R-R-Resurrection!”
A glow of powerful magic glowed in her hand, eventually becoming lighter and brighter until finally, the magic dissipated into the mouse itself. It didn’t take long before the mouse breathed its first breath as its chest went up and down.
Snow was impressed at the speed that Angie was able to resurrect the mouse.
“Not bad.”
“I did it!” Angie squealed in delight. Her voice scared the mouse as it got up and scuttled away. “Eek!” She scampered back, looking at the mouse in horror.
Snow shook her head in defeat.
