Two hours after Shiro came crashing down at the only survivor’s camp in Valdavia’s capital, the [Magic Knight from Another World] in tow.
“Who are you?!”
“Wait, look closely—he’s human!”
A blood-drenched figure strolled into the camp with a few other injured fellows in tow.
Ryouta sighed in relief after finally reaching the camp. In the end, he still had to save some people from the demons’ clutches and carry them by himself.
“Shiro!”
Immediately after dropping off the wounded soldiers, he made his way to the eye-catching white-haired girl who was simply standing still in the middle of the camp.
Shiro beamed at Ryouta, as if she was happy to see him.
Standing next to her was Nanba Anna. Since she had reached camp, her leg was almost immediately looked after. After two hours of basking under the healer’s power, she was as good as new.
“You…”
“It’s Takahashi. Is your leg fine, now?”
“Takahashi, thank you.” Nanba Anna looked conflicted as she paused. “How… how did you become so strong?” In the short amount of time that they had spent together, she did not have any recollection of the boy ever showing any signs of the current strength that he had now. She was really curious as how the ‘normal’ Ryouta who had no special or redeeming qualities in the beginning became so strong after two years.
If he had been so strong, and stayed to fight from the beginning, things wouldn’t have turned out so badly, she hatefully thought. But she knew she was simply misplacing the blame. After all, when Ryouta left the castle, no one ever thought of stopping him. Rather, they all forgot about his existence as they were too absorbed in their training.
“It’s a long story,” he replied. To be honest, he did not have the patience to tell Nanba Anna about his experiences. It wasn’t like they were close friends, after all, so he simply dismissed her question. Furthermore, they were in such an emergency situation; no one had the time to tell stories.

Ryouta returned to the battlefield once again after resting for a bit.
“! Hal!”
While in the middle of slaughtering the demons, Ryouta found his comrade from the same guild, Hal, struggling as he walked through the carnage that he left behind, one hand was holding his thin, needle-like sword while the other hand… was nowhere in sight. One of his arm was completely severed, the blood flowing out of the wound continuously like a waterfall.
“Fancy seeing you here,” says Hal. He managed a half-smile, appearing as if nothing was off, but his pallid complexion and the sweat dripping from his forehead betrayed the amount of pain he was holding in.
“Hal, your arm…”
“It’s not a big deal,” Hal laughed. “Hey, don’t look so glum. See, this isn’t even my dominant arm, so don’t worry about it.”
“Did you take a potion?”
“Haha… I, ran out of potions midway.” Hal laughed, his face paling. “What a sucky thing to happen, huh?”
“Hal…!” Ryouta felt his heart tighten. The man in front of him was one of the strongest people he knew. That person lost an arm yet he could still joke around like he always did. He felt a sourness in his heart, feeling aggrieved for the man.
“There’s a healer in the camp. Maybe she can help you.”
“Is there, now? Can you… lead the… way…?” Hal’s voice slowed. He could no longer bear the pain and was starting to lose consciousness. “This is… bad… haa… it seems like… I’ll have to, rely… on you… take care of me, will you, Ryou…?”
Hal collapsed.
Thankfully, Ryouta’s reflexes were good so he was able to catch the older man quickly.
Ryouta brought the man back to the camp quickly and made the healer prioritise his injuries. Seeing the grievous injuries of the man, the healer did not complain about Ryouta’s brashness and simply started to work.
Shiro looked at the healer with amazement. The woman’s face showed her tiredness. Being the only healer in the middle of war, naturally, she was the busiest person on the planet. There was no time for her to rest at all, and she was working hard to heal as many people as she could.

Providing meritorious service in the war, in the form of saving lives; the karmic luck will help you in the future.
Shiro’s eyes briefly flashed, changing to gold for a short moment before turning back into its usual blue colour. Her fingers twitched slightly.
However, her surroundings were too busy, so no one noticed this strange occurrence.
Shiro turned back from the hectic scene, then moved to catch up to Ryouta who was already moving back to the battlefield.
Soon enough, the demons in the surrounding areas were completely annihilated, and many more survivors managed to come back to the camp with their lives still intact.
