The Abandoned Hero is Overpowered! (10)

After a week of travelling, they finally arrived at their destination.

Bluer Port Town was one of the kingdom’s key destinations. It was the most important trading hub that the kingdom had. The town was livelier compared to Argen Town. Bluer Port Town had all sorts of goods and people bustling about.

The salty air would leave one feeling refreshed, and the sight of the large merchant ships lined next to each other held a sense of grandeur.

As if he was afraid that the girl would run away, Satos held her tightly in his arms. He had already planned his moves. After selling her to a slave merchant, he would use the money to finally get his injuries fully healed, and with the remaining money he could look into some nice residences to live in. Perhaps, he might even buy some booze for a celebratory drink.

While calculating the profit in his head, he quickly walked towards the slave traders’ tents, situated a few ways away from the main marketplace. He quickly narrowed down a few slave merchants that seemed like they could give him a good deal.

In the end, he settled for a relatively well-known slave merchant who went by the name Dios, who gave him the highest offer among the slave traders he had visited. Leaving the merchant’s tent, he leisurely walked away with the money in his pockets. He whistled a tune, drowning out the voices of guilt thundering his heart.

Just like that, Fairy was sold for 2 gold coins.

“Welcome, young master. What type of slave are you looking for?” Dios the merchant put up his business smile at the new customer. As an experienced merchant, he easily scanned the profile of his customer and treated them appropriately.

The customer this time was a young man, perhaps in his early adulthood. He sported black hair and equally black eyes, which were very uncommon features of the people in the kingdom. However, he did not discriminate against this customer; he had seen people with similar features in the Isles, though this customer had pale, white skin as if untouched by the sun, which was quite the opposite of those people.

The young man wore unusual clothes. However, with his sharp eyes, Other than the dark-coloured cloak he wore, Dios could tell that the clothes the young man was wearing were of high quality despite being a little dirty. He carried a sword by his side and had a relatively heavy-looking coin pouch.

The customer pondered for a short while, then shook his head, “I’m just looking around. If there’s anything that I want, I’ll tell you.”

Dios nodded amiably, hiding his slight disappointment. “Then I’ll show you around, young master.” He did not fail to notice the slight discomfort shown by the customer. Though the customer had a stoic face, he was clearly uncomfortable judging by his body movements. Dios surmised that it was probably his first time visiting such a place.

It didn’t matter, young men like him would often end up buying a female slave in the end, and all he had to do was show him the goods, Dios thought. With that in thought, he proceeded to introduce the young man to his array of goods.

“—And this is our latest goods. This one was recently sold to us a few days ago. Although she is still young and her body has yet to develop, she is undoubtedly the most beautiful specimen that we have on sale. I even feel a bit reluctant to part with it, haha!” Dios smiled, his eyes narrowing at the disgust hidden in the young man’s eyes.

In front of them sat a young girl, about 9 or 10 years of age. Although all she wore was the rags given to all the slaves, it did not dampen her beauty; in fact, it gave others feelings of distress, as if the girl did not deserve to be sullied by the piece of cloth.

The girl looked up at them from her position, looking highly innocent and pure with her glittering blue eyes gazing at them. Her white hair was long, extending all the way on the ground, making people want to dust off the dirt from her hair and hold it high, in fear of it being dirtied.

The young man appeared to be in a daze. She was so young, so innocent; it was as if she was completely unaware of the situation she was in.

Meeting the young man’s gaze, Fairy smiled. Such a foolish and naïve smile; who could be so vile to sell this girl off?

As if he could not bear the pureness in her eyes, he broke off the eye contact, turning to the slave merchant.

Countless thoughts rushed through his mind. But there was one thing that distinctively stood out in his head: He had to save her. He did not want her to be in this place any longer. Staying there… who knew what kind of fate was in store for her. Definitely not a good fate, that’s for sure, he thought.

With a resolved gaze, he said, “I’ll buy her.”
