Goooood mor… night?
Eh?
What’s happening?
Eh?
Huh?
That’s weird~
Shiro’s biological clock is saying that it’s daytime. So why is it so dark?
“Everyone, get into battle formation! Those that can’t fight, go hide in the cabins! Go, go, go!”
“Kyaaaah!”
Waaaaaa—the boat is rocking—urk! This is bad, Shiro has motion sickness now.
“Shiro, come here!” As if he was a knight in shining armour, Ryouta came, swooping Shiro off her feet. Waaaa~ KAKKOII~
Back to the present.
It has been approximately four days since Ryouta and Shiro joined the Skull Brigade’s ship that was headed towards the Republic of Vine.
As if it was foreshadowing, Elena had mentioned something about a terrifying sea monster that may or may not appear during their voyage.
Speak of the devil and He shall appear!
Four days into the trip, an enormous shadow began to follow the lone ship from underwater. A few hours later, as if the thing thought that the time was ripe, it appeared.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
The ship rocked back and forth as the sea monster rose from underneath the ship, causing everything and everyone on board to tumble about. The huge monster was colossal compared to the ship. Although the ship could not be considered as a huge vessel, it was not actually very small—it was enough to hold at least a few dozen people with room to spare.
Such a ship was instantly dwarfed by the large monster, turning day into night for the passengers of the ship.
ROAAAAAAR!
Splash, the ship goes. As if trying to intimidate the people on the ship, the sea monster which resembled a large, purplish-greenish octopus sent one of its tentacles towards the ship but missing it narrowly. It made a large splash that further caused the ship to rock violently.
Actually, it was not that the monster intentionally avoided directly destroying the ship, but rather, a certain presence on the ship caused it to hesitate.
Shiro stared at the large octopus-looking fellow with narrowed eyes and a slight pout, as if saying, ‘go away!’ and ‘you’re a nuisance!’
Her inner thoughts were clearly on display on her little face, and the monster had caught sight of it. Unconsciously, the monster trembled. It could roughly feel the wrath behind the little white-haired girl’s gaze. The feeling was akin to committing blasphemy; even the sea seemed to be boiling along with her anger.
The nearby spirits, no matter their elements, all gathered, repeatedly saying, “go away~ go away~”
One tiny spirit would not do any harm, but when so many of them gathered, then it was another story all together. The might of the spirits could even overturn mountains and cause havoc.
“Muu…” Seeing the rather petrified sea monster that didn’t seem like it was going to go away, Shiro increased her pressure over it. Along with it, the spirits were even more energetic in their movements.
Sensing the sudden danger, the monster immediately turned away, intending to run away as fast as it physically could.
Of all the things it had encountered in all its life, that little girl was definitely something he should not go against; its instinct practically screamed for it to get away as fast and as far as possible.
“Gwaaah!”
“Shit! Hold on to whatever you can and don’t let go no matter what!”
“Kyaaaa—glubglubglub—“
Unfortunately, even if the monster did not dare to attack the ship, it was inevitable for the ship to be unable to get away scot-free.
The large size of the monster caused its tentacles to accidentally slam against the ship, thus sending it flying.
