Arc 2 chapter 1: Karma Strikes Again!

Zhang fei opened his eyes and immediately had head splitting headache from the soul transfer and groaned in pain. It felt like someone had hit a hammer right on top of his head and had a concussion and was still a little disoriented.

“hey fang ning , you okay you look kind of pale?” someone from the side asked Zhang Fei. Zhang Fei looked around and found out that he was in a school bus full of high school kids who were busy making a ruckus in the bus.

“Uh hello? Earth to Fang Ning, do you copy?” Zhnag Fei turned around and looked at a fat highschool kid who was calling out to Zhang Fei. When Zhang Fei looked at him the only thing that came into his mind was that he resembled a huge meatball.

Then suddenly someone from the back seat came forward and smashed a magazine against Zhang fei’s head by throwing it at him. Zhang Fei’s head went forward and the glasses which he was wearing fell off from his head.

“hahah ofcourse he is not fine, he is probably still in shock at being rejected by An Zining and then being beaten up by Yao Zhixing for trying to talk to her, heh nerd you should have learned your place from the previous incident, how is a trash like you supposed to be with our schools beauty An Zining. Sheesh, if you ask me, Yao Zhixing still went too easy on him.”

Zhang Fei turned around and looked at high school kid who had all the features of a cliché bully, all brawn and no brains type. Zhang Fei looked at him with cold eyes and said the two magical words, “Fuck off.”

The bully was surprised that how a nerd like Zhang Fei had the guts to talk back to him. He was going to get up to teach the nerd a lesson but before he could a teacher came and told him to sit down and not cause a scene or else he would be in trouble. The bully harrumphed and sat down on his seat while looking at Zhang Fei with a glare but didn’t say anything more.

[Wow host it hasn’t been 5 minutes since you came into this world and you already pissed someone off.] Damn, Coco was almost impressed, if he didn’t know Zhang fei any better he would think that he had a talent for pissing people off. Hmm maybe I should learn a thing or two from my host. Coco made a commitment in his mind to follow Zhang Fei’s footsteps and learn from him. If Zhang Fei knew that the only thing Coco thought was worth learning from him was to piss people off then the only fate awaiting Coco would be that of a piñata.

Zhang Fei shrugged as he replied. “Well if I didn’t then the idiot would probably be messing me with all the way during this bus ride, it was best to shut him up now and teach him a lesson later.”

[Sure but I don’t think he is just going to simply bully you now with simple pranks, based on the hard glare he is giving you, he is probably thinking of beating the crap out of you when the bus comes to a stop.]

“Great then, saves me the trouble of looking for him to beat him up myself.”

[….] Coco gave a silent prayer for the kid. Rest in peace kid, hopefully he won’t break a lot of your bones.

The Fat kid once again asked Zhang Fei, “hey fang ning, you okay, you are really acting weird today.”

“Yeah I am fine, just a little tired from the travel, I’m going to sleep a bit, let’s talk later.”

“Okay sure” the fat kid answered as he pulled out his phone and started a web novel app and started reading. Zhang Fei was interested to see a fellow reader and wanted to chat but decided to do so later after he sorted out everything with Coco. Coco looked the fat kid reading a web novel and sighed as he shook his whole body in disapointment.

[*sigh* another lost cause]

Zhang gave Coco a dangerous look with narrowed eyes. If the fat kid was a lost cause for just reading the web novel then what was he , one who wrote such books and web novels as well, was he even worse than a lost cause. Coco looked at Zhang fei and realized his mistake.

[Joking joking hahaha………………I’m joking] right I forgot about the hosts undying love for novels.

“That’s what I thought. Now show me everything about the plot.”

[Sure thing host, here you go.] Before Coco could finish saying what he wanted to say, a huge influx of information entered Zhang Fei’s mind and he didn’t hear what Coco said. This time Zhang Fei braced himself for the incoming pain and hence didn’t suffer like last time and only shuddered a bit and worked a bit of sweat as he still pretended to sleep. Fatty looked at how Zhang fei was sweating and was pale eve when sleeping. Hmm guess he isn’t really feeling well.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Zhang Fei realized that the story this time wasn’t simple. The story this time was about a group of high school kids that go on a school trip to an island, and well not surprisingly the island wasn’t simple at all. The island was an island of death. It was a huge new resort on the outside with decades of development and planning but in reality it was just a cover up by an insidious organization. The real purpose of the island was to act as a sacrificial hunting ground. The Island was a gateway to the realm of monsters and demons and the organization for the cliché reason of using the powers of so called demons and monsters to rule the world opened the gateway to a realm of demons and monsters and offered the thousands of innocent tourists as a sacrifice.

The story was about how the group of high school kids made it out of the island alive and the female lead, An zining was the protagonist and the person who had the female lead halo around whom the whole story revolved. It should have been a simple cliché story but unfortunately someone fucked it up. The female lead was supposed to lead the group of high school kids out of the island alive but the female lead had lost her halo and as a result she didn’t have the unbelievable luck that most leads had and hence died when the sacrifice started and didn’t make it out of the island alive. The law of the world couldn’t stand that the female lead had died and hence restarted the whole world again, but the problem was the female lead missing the female lead halo would die every time and the law of the world would restart the whole thing from the beginning, so the world was stuck in an endless cycle of repetition.

His job was to make sure the girl didn’t die and made it out alive so that the world continues on with its natural cycle. Basically, he was supposed to be the meat shield of the female lead so that she could have a safe journey through the story and do everything the female lead was supposed to do in her stead all the while protecting her. Hmph should have made me the lead instead, or rather never mind I would rather jump off a cliff than turn into a woman.

Zhang fei didn’t mind protecting the lead but he didn’t know what kind of dangers he would be facing in the island and along with the baggage known as the female lead, the practical difficulty of the mission was a lot.

“Wow couldn’t you have picked up something simpler?”

[pfft nope, I don’t pick the missions, I only get a list of missions and then cross check the difficulty grading and the possibility of you completing them along with the potential rewards and contributions points and then select a mission for you out of the given ones, out of the missions that were given you had the least probability of failing in this one]

“and how much probability is that?”

[80% probability of failing]

“….” I don’t even want to know about the other missions.

Zhang Fei continued to pretend to sleep as he talked with Coco about the mission. The bus had been travelling for hours and now it seemed that it got on a huge and long bridge that was connecting it far away onto a majestic looking island. All the students went to the window and marveled at the beautiful view. Zhang Fei scoffed at this as he opened his eyes and saw them marveling at the island. None of these kids knew that that beautiful island was a land of death and very soon they would be trapped there. Meh at least they can divert the heat during the mission.

“Yeah Coco I wanted to ask what’s with this pathetically weak body, why did I transmigrate into the body of a nerd, is it a requirement of the mission” Zhang Fei thought that since the mission was already so difficult, it would have been good if he wasn’t a nerd but an athlete.

[No, you see that guy over there.] Coco pointed at a Guy at the front of the bus. Zhang fei looked at him and realized he was one of the people at the top of the food chain. He had stellar looks, a good physique and a charismatic aura and was surrounded by girls as he made them laugh with his jokes. One could say he had all the characteristics of a typical protagonist. He could see how the girls were looking at him with fawning looks.

“Yes, what about him.”

[Well, that’s who you were supposed to be. That’s also Zhang Fei, well the other Zhang Fei. The thing is, when a host is sent on different missions, the upper management try so that they get a body with a good base. That includes looks, wealth, physique and the whole package but it may vary sometimes. They do this so that the hosts have a good start to their mission or else it would be more difficult to complete the mission, and the upper management don’t want that to be the case. That’s also the reason why many protagonist of transmigration stories transmigrate into bodies with good looks and shocking talent. Although that business of reincarnation and one time transmigration isn’t conducted by our branch but another. The point is that should have been you.]

“I see, so what went wrong?” Zhang Fei had to admit, if he was that person a lot of things for this mission would get easy. Firstly the guy had a good physique, so it would be helpful to have good stamina and muscle power to do what was needed in the mission and secondly the guy had a natural charismatic aura, one that would make it easy to gain the trust of the female lead and make it easy to protect her during the mission.

Coco laughed as he replied [Your karma messed up with the soul transfer]

(-_-) “This karma shit has started to become annoying”

Coco sympathized with his host and he gave his host a mental pat on the back. [yeah, I can feel your pain host.] haha nope, not for me it isn’t.

The teacher got up and made the kids sit down on their seats as she started briefing everyone about what they would do once they reached the island, “okay listen up everyone, we will be soon reaching the island. Once we reach there we will be staying at a hotel for a week and enjoy all the facilities before the island official opening ceremony. Now when we get there I want all of you to behave. After one week when the island officially opens we can enjoy all the other facilities as well so you can do whatever you want for this one week BUT you all have to move in groups.”

Zhang Fei closed his eyes again as everyone started murmuring in excited voices about the one week’s enjoyment in the island. Zhang Fei smirked as he thought about the mission. One week. One week until all hell is let loose.
