Arc 1 chapter 22: Chaotic Change

There was single guy surrounded by dozens of people who were engaged in a fist fight. The guy had visible bruises on his face and body, he seemed to have taken quite a beating from them but despite the difference in number the single guy seemed to be slowly coming on top. As the fight went on one by one he took down his opponents as he continued to take hits but seemed to ignore the resulting pain with sheer will. With a heavy punch the single guy took down the last opponent. He stood among the fallen and looked down his knuckles and noticed how they were bloody, not just from his opponent’s blood but his as well. People had been coming at him for weeks now and the only thing he did was swing his fists at them resulting in his swollen and wounded knuckles. He didn’t even get time to rest.

Mo Wenzi had grown a rough stuble in his time in prison and his eyes were bloodshot but were somewhat steady. Zhang fei had continuously sent people to beat him up. In the beginning, with him lacking in experience he couldn’t fend them off and result in them beating the shit out of him, but after a few rounds he started learning although at the cost of his health. He was sure that he could now contend with 5-6 opponents at the same time if he wished. Although Mo wenzi didn’t notice, which isn’t surprising given his intellect, but him being able to learn fighting so fast was also an effect of him being the male lead, the law of the world was on his side so it would aid him in situations such as these but it also depended on certain factors. It would always aid the main lead to show progress in him and as a result the story. So Mo Wenzi becoming good at fighting is because of the main lead’s halo effect.

Mo Wenzi closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, he seemed tired but at the same time seemed that he wouldn’t collapse any time soon. He had undergone great changes these past weeks. The main thing that was changing was his mentality, he lived a second generation noveau rich so he had never been through tough times, now that he was in prison he had undergone tough times, which molded his character and mentality. The change was slow but it was still there. As for Xia Su, she still hadn’t come to meet him. He didn’t mind it anymore. There was still love for her there but there was also a little resentment. They had made promises to be together forever but she didn’t even come to meet him once after he went to prison, if he could see her again he would just ask one thing, why?

Mo wenzi was looking off at a distance and was in deep thoughts. A loud shot broke him off from his trance. “You there get back to your cell, it’s time to go back”. Mo wenzi just nodded his head and went forward towards the same shitty cell he had been living in for weeks. The worst thing wasn’t him being in prison or guys constantly trying to beat the shit out of him, but the huge bulky guy next to his cell constantly trying to seduce him. He shivered and rubbed his arms as he thought about it. Yep, I must definitely get out of this place.

Meanwhile Xia Ruo had already released the recordings about the talk anonymously and now Xia Su’s reputation was a mess, and she was almost criticized and hated publically. Even the people who were her die hard supporters had to step back lest they get trampled in the mud along with her. Even the Xia Corporation’s employees and board of directors were criticizing strongly how such a vile person wasn’t fit to be a successor and would just bring bad luck to the company. Not that it needed any bad luck thanks to Zhang Fei. Xia Su was now currently hiding in one her father’s apartments in outer edge of city, she had shut herself in and had almost become half mad. She had disheveled hair and bloodshot eyes with dark circles below her eyes and was sittings on the bed calmly although her hands were clenched so hard that the nails drew blood. She was looking at the internet made articles about how Xia Su was vixen that went around seducing people and was a two faced bitch, she even had taken her sister’s position out of jealousy and even after that continued to make her life miserable.

The internet which was now fully into the story of the two sisters after learning about it, was now singing praises of Xia Ruo and was constantly throwing mud at the already down Xia Su. Xia Su started trembling as she continued to read the articles one after another, and then suddenly got up and threw the laptop to the ground smashing it. “ ZHANG. FEI!” She called out Zhang Fei’s name out through clenched teeth. She had now realized what went wrong with her path to success and glory, it was Zhang fei. Her sister was a meek and docile person, how she changed in just a day and could rival her and was now even at the winning end was just because of Zhang Fei. According to her all the peculiarities started when Zhang fei appeared, she had investigated him. He was just a nobody before but three months before Xia Ruo’s birthday he started a change, a change that led to her plans being ruined. She was sure that all that happened to her was Zhang Fei’s doing, her sister’s behavior changing, her plans failing one after the other and even her most useful pet going to jail.

One had to give it to Xia Su, she sure was smart enough to figure out that all this was centered around Zhang Fei. She wanted answers, now more than anything, she wanted to know why he was doing all this, if he said he did it because he loved her sister she wouldn’t believe it. She had a glimpse of Zhang Fei’s personality, people like him don’t fall in love. So she wanted to know why he acted against her and ruined her. Only then could she get some sleep and calm after truly knowing what went wrong with her plans. For now she could do nothing and just wait for the situation outside to calm down before she could act again. This was by far the biggest loss she had taken against her sister. She had sent people to get rid of her before she could release the recording but all of them failed. Xia Su was now was now even at the risk of losing her position as the heiress of the xia corporation. If one looked from afar, her situation was really fucked up.

The room was silent for a while and Xia Su stood there contemplating her situation motionlessly, almost like a statue. A devilish smile came on her face with a reignited light that seen in her eyes that could be seen missing for a few weeks. She then started laughing with low chuckles. It seemed that she had found a way out.

Off at another continent, a man was running away from another man. They seemed to be running at a very fast speed and sometimes also flew as they passed through the terrain. One could see that a fight was going on between the two as heavenly lightning, plasma blasts, bullets, fireballs were exchanged and otherworldly creatures seemed to be coming out of nowhere and were fighting each other as well which seemed to be summoned by the two. The men were constantly changing weapons as they fought from immortal swords to futuristic weapons as they contended against each other.

Although both men seemed to be showing equal might but the one who was running away seemed injured and a damaged cube was also flying besides him. As the fight went on the man in front seemed to become more and more exhausted mainly because of his injuries and was slowly becoming more and more wounded. The other man attacking was relentless as he didn’t stop attacking and was continuously attacking which left the wounded man no other choice but to abandon offence for defense. The attacks were so intense that small light tremors could be felt in the surrounding area.

As the wounded man was fending off the attacks, the other man was waiting for a moment where the wounded man concentration would get disturbed because of his wounds and he could finish him off. Finally the moment arrived, the man summoned a golden spear that had beautiful engravings on it and almost appeared celestial and threw it with all his might. The wounded man who was feeling muddleheaded because of the blood loss couldn’t focus enough to fend of the second attack while he was already dodging another.

The spear went forward as imbedded itself in the man’s chest and both the man and the spear flew backwards until it hit a mountain and caused a few cracks to develop in it. The wounded man instantly died and the creatures he had summoned vanished as well. The cube that was flying by his side stopped floating and started slowly disappearing but the other man threw a glowing net and caught the cube and making it vanish into thin air. He went forward and took the spear and the dead body as well.

The man stood there among the destroyed battlefield and looked around cautiously. If one looked at him one could say that he was fairly handsome. He had short black hair with dark black eyes and had good facial features. He also wore a full black attire. He was also tall and had a good body stature which gave him an imposing look. The only thing that was contrasting about him from the norm was that his face was extremely pale which was even more evident because of his clean shave, it almost looked like he didn’t have an ounce of blood and his lips were purple like that of a dead person.

As the man was looking around a portal appeared at a distance from him and a dozen or so people with full body dark armours came out with black headgear that covered their whole head making it impossible to distinguish them from each another. The man looked at them and said two words, “Well fuck.” Another series of explosions and blasts started which could be heard off at a distance for a long time.

Meanwhile Zhang Fei was sitting in his living room drinking a hot cup of coffee and enjoying the read of a good book while Coco was trying to break his record for his revolutions per minute as a cube, both unaware that a massive change was happening around them.
