Arc 1 chapter 18: Are You Sure This Is Just A Bazooka?

A guy with a sniper was sitting on the rooftop relaxing and waiting for the job to end. His crew and the other teams had the guy already cornered in the restaurant, he had checked the backdoor of the restaurant multiple times with the scope of the gun waiting for the guy to come out but one of his colleague had notified him that the guy was stuck in the restaurant because the backdoor was locked. The sniper relaxed after he heard this and waited for the hit to end. He had already played his part.

Although the sniper had done many jobs with his crew and usually they were more than enough, but this time multiple teams were selected to get the hit done. He himself was shocked to see the numbers as such a number was only warranted for something big but to his surprise it was just one guy. Most of the guys were a little confused and also joked about how it was overkill, but his employer specifically told them that the guy wasn't to be underestimated and was highly dangerous. Most of the guys just shrugged it off and thought that their employer was just being paranoid but once they came into contact with him they found out that they were screwed up for underestimating the target.

The guy was agile and swift in dodging the men and the bullets and even got rid of some of the men with knives, only knives and nothing else, which he wouldn't believe if he didn't see it himself when the guy was reaching for some guns after killing 2 of their men. He shot at him twice but he was swift hence his bullets missing their mark and not doing the intended damage although he still had injured him which would result in the hit going more smoothly. The sniper sighed. This wasn't the life he wished for himself but circumstances don't care what you think. He did this because he wanted to survive in a cruel and harsh world because this was the only thing he was good at, he felt bad for the kid but life isn't fair. The kid pissed someone powerful off and the only thing he could do now was die. Although Zhang Fei didn't act as a college kid and acted more like an experienced adult, he still looked like a college kid hence the sniper feeling bad for him who didn't know about Zhang Fei's personality even one bit. Although the sniper felt sad for the kid, which was a taboo in his line of work, he was also relieved that this would be his last hit, after this he could leave this life for good.

He would finally have enough money to make his daughter feel well again. If it wasn't for his daughter he would have never continued doing these jobs for the past few years. At first it was because he loved making money but now it was for his daughter so he could leave this life and spend time with her. When he thought about his daughter a smile came on to his face.

But the smiling expression abruptly changed into one of shock when the restaurant that most of his colleagues were in, suddenly blew up with a huge explosion from the front. It was a really violent explosion that seemed to have a really destructive power. It caused the earth to tremble a little. Even he felt the vibrations in the building he was on. But strangely enough he could see that not all of the restaurant was destroyed, the back end was still intact but he couldn't see anything because of the smoke. He frowned at the unusual occurrence and communicated with some of the men to check it out and inform him if they saw the target.

Zhang fei slowly stood up from behind the counter to see the mayhem he had caused and looked at with slight shock and admiration. "Holy shit." He didn't expect to cause such damage. Was this a bazooka, or a fucking artillery gun?

Coco looked at its host expression and seemed to realize that his host couldn't believe that all this was caused by a bazooka. [hehe what? Surprised that it was so destructive?]

Zhang Fei replied while looking around the destroyed restaurant in a calm manner after the little shock, "of course I am, that was a really powerful blast, as far as I know a bazooka doesn't do that much damage" He also felt that it was strange since the strike was so destructive it would have blown up the whole restaurant rather than just the front where the guys pursuing them were. He shivered a little when he thought about being at the other end of this particular bazooka. Yep, I would definitely end up resting in pieces with my soul blasted into oblivion.

[Relax host, it was an item from the system shop, of course it wouldn't be like a normal bazooka, the shop enhances the features of each object it has when compared to similar objects in the many worlds scattered throughout the realm network. The shop sells similar items while enhancing it and sometimes it does it many time over, so for the bazooka being such a force of destruction, it was due to it being from the shop. And as for you being alive that is because of me, some of the objects have a feature to control their power and some other of its features depending on the object and so does this bazooka. I actually contained the blast or else the destruction would have been much much worse and also controlled the blast to be directed towards the guys following us and to the front of the restaurant and deflected it from you side, hence you not becoming a charred piece of charcoal]

Zhang Fei gave a slight smile and mentally approved of Coco's action. Although he thought that Coco was the epitome of disaster and would do screw ups after screw ups, he was slightly impressed that the dumb cube used that intelligence of his for once and did something useful. But he wasn't going to praise this cube because he knew that if he did the dumb cube would never shut up bringing it up again and again later. Maybe he has a chance of being redeemed after all.

[Although I forgot to tell you that you could do so yourself through your mind when using such objects, so you could have done it on your own too. I just forgot to tell you because I was so excited to see how it blew up everything to smithereens.]

Zhang Fei looked at coco with a 'I knew it' expression. He already knew that coco had a forgetful and problem causing personality so he wasn't surprised Coco forgot to mention such a thing. Zhang just wrapped up the mental approval he had given Coco a while ago and set it on fire and burned it into ashes, mentally of course and silently scrapped his plans of redeeming Coco. Yep, definitely a lost cause.*sigh* a lost cause I'm stuck with "Do you have anything else to tell me?"

[Uh... yes you still have 2 uses with the bazooka.] well Coco also had another thing to tell Zhang fei, it was that the bazooka wasn't normal at all when compared to the other bazookas in the shop and cost a lot of contribution points and multiplied with the increased cost of advanced withdrawal, the price to pay would one make anyone cry tears of sorrow and agony, but coco thought for the sake of his own well-being, it was best he didn't tell Zhang Fei now and let him find out later.

[Host some people are headed this way, they are not a lot, but its best you start moving]

When Zhang Fei heard about the remaining men and his eyes filled with killing intent. He though that since they tried to kill him, he would repay the favor in full as well. Zhang Fei went forward and ignored the pain from his leg. Normal people would have found it difficult to endure such pain much less still walk but Zhang Fei still continued on despite the pain. Zhang fei took a single knife that he found from the kitchen of the restaurant and walked into the smoke and soon disappeared within it.

The sniper had a tense expression as he surveyed the surrounding, he had a solemn expression as he realized that a lot of the men that came here were killed in the blast. He was waiting for his colleagues to point out the position of the target if he was still alive. The losses to the group were severe. He called out to one of the men on his radio but strangely enough there was no response, he called out to another guy but there was still no response. Just as he was getting anxious and was thinking of leaving the building. He felt the cold steel of a knife on his throat, and from the wet and sticky sensation he felt near his throat and the smell, he knew the knife was covered with blood. The man gulped in nervousness.

"Who sent you?" Zhang Fei asked in a cold voice that made the man shiver. The man thought it best if he said everything truthfully, he didn't want to die and from what he could tell the kid wasn't a normal college kid but a ruthless monster now that he had seen how he had survived that blast and even killed the rest of the men without him even noticing his movements.

"I-it was someone form the-the Mo family, I don't know much, they just promised to give us a lot money to kill you."

Zhang Fei arched a brow and asked again, "Was it Mo Wenzi?"

"I don't know, I just know it was someone from the Mo family and payed a huge amount of money, I'm telling the truth I swear, don't kill me. Please let me go I have a daught-"

Before he could finish what he was saying Zhang Fei had already slit his throat and the man fell to the ground with desperation on his face as he clutched his throat with his hands. He struggled as his strength left his body and his vision darkened and finally took his last breath. Both Coco and Zhang realized that since it was someone from the Mo family, it was definitely Mo Wenzi who could have tried to kill Zhang Fei. Zhang Fei was even more sure that it was Mo Wenzi since he was in the top 3 people who hated him enough to kill him and zhang fei himself was the sole reason he was in jail and couldnt get out. So him being the guy to order the hit was accuratr since he would gain the most.

[Host, I know Mo Wenzi hates you but wasn't this too much, this was more like a small army than a hit squad]

Zhang Fei had a cold look on his face. Coco was right it was overkill but for others, but not for him. Mo wenzi had probably realized that Zhang Fei wasn't a simple character since he could kill a group of college kids in less than a minute before his arrival in the room back at the party in the mansion. So Mo wenzi placed a hit on him and did so without sparing any expense.

"He realized that I was dangerous and the main player in the opposition against him. It may look excessive to you but I would have done the same if I was in his shoes."

[What do you mean host?]

"Haven't you heard precaution is better than cure? He wanted to make sure I was dead and didn't want to have any failure, I'm sure he will be soon regretting not sending more men to kill me." Zhang Fei said with a cold look that would freeze someone many times over if they looked at it. He was pissed that Mo wenzi tried to kill him but he was even more pissed about missing his club meeting because of this shit show. He was looking really forward to the meeting and was even excited to meet his fans but these fuckers ruined it. He started the day with a good mood hoping to chat with his fans but ended up with 2 bullets holes, a bazooka, dozens of dead people. Well you could blame him for the dozens of dead people but still, he would definitely make that little shit pay.

Coco nodded in response. He would also do something so excessive if he was against Zhang Fei, mainly because he didn't even want to know what Zhang Fei would do in return if Coco failed to kill him. Coco shivered in fright when thinking of the possibility of being Zhang Fei's opponent. Well looks like the Mo brat is going to have a very fun time very soon.

Zhang Fei looked around and inspected the things that were brought by the sniper such as his weapon case, radio, a pistol with a silencer and some other things related to the profession. His gaze lingered at the picture of a child that was put to the side for a moment before he turned around and started walking away.

[Where to host?]

Zhang Fei looked at Coco as if he was looking at an idiot. "I have two bullet holes in my body, of coure the only place I would be going to is the hospital you dumbass"

Coco just floated around Zhang Fei ignoring his Insult since he was already used to Zhang Fei's sometimes blunt responses. Well hope you don't bleed out huehue. Although Coco inwardly joked he had already scanned Zhang Fei's body, and calculated that although he was losing blood it wasn't that much ,he would still make it to the nearest hospital in time.

Zhang Fei walked away while limping from the building as sirens of police and ambulances were heard off at a distance. Hence the situation was started being contained by the police when they arrived but Zhang Fei didn't want to do anything with them and talking with them would be pointless. He also didn't want to expose himself as the main cause of the gunfight and the destroyed building plus the dead bodies, since the market place had very little cameras he wouldn't need to spend effort removing the evidence of his involvement as well. He just silently slipped away to go to the nearest hospital.

Zhang Fei went to the hospital and settled down after the bullets were removed from the body and his arm and leg was bandaged and was lying in his bed in his own private room resting lost in his own thoughts. Coco decided not to disturb his host since he had a rough day today and was exhausted from the blood loss and was tired because of the nerve racking situation he went through today. While thinking Zhang Fei realized that he couldn't delay his plans any longer. Mo wenzi had really used his brains this time and almost got him killed. He was starting to get dangerous, Zhang Fei realized that it was his fault that he underestimated Mo wenzi but most of his plans were almost complete, he could soon make the leads suffer. He only needed some more time before he could give Mo Wenzi and Xia Su the final blow and finally get rid of this headache.

Zhang Fei was lying his bed thinking of taking a nap when the door opened and someone rushed inside with a worried look on her face. It was Xia Ruo, her facial expressions relaxed when she saw he was okay but she still seemed a little bit concerned.
