A Nerfed Gamer in Avia Chapter 8 - First Kill

I watched as Father and Damien ran through the Katas I had taught them, it was going well… so far anyway.

You see WSRSF, the skill I mean just gave me the knowledge on how to use it.

It used Katas, you would practise them until they were instinctual, you couldn’t just know the kata though, you had to practise using it as well.

At least usually you would have to, I just had that stuff pre packaged with the Skill. I had no idea how to teach them properly so I just made this up.

I need a teaching skill or something. That thought made me let out a chuckle. The others were too focused on training to notice.

They were practising a kata that stopped a basic jab and hook from either hand.

It consisted of either blocking the attack or guiding it off target using the forearm.

“Damien, show me!” I immediately moved up and sent a jab at Damien who had just barely turned to face me.

His eyes widened as my fist slammed into his face causing him to stumble back as he rubbed his face with a hand.

I sigh “Keep practising, obviously this isn’t working as well as I thought it would” I grumble to myself.

It would eventually work but it’d take too long which means I need to come up with something better. Oh, maybe it's their mindset.

“Both of you stop” I say as both of them turn and face me.

“Okay I should explain a bit about WSRSF. WSRSF is the perfect blend of offence and defence, you lead your opponents around by the nose. You anticipate their attacks and use that to lead them into a trap before striking with a powerful attack.

It requires quick thinking. You need to be calm so you can analyse your opponents fighting style. You lead them around, dodging or deflecting their attacks until you’re more familiar with their abilities and then you strike” I explained as I crossed my arms.

“Can you show us? We’ve seen you use it but never slowed down or explained” Father said and I nodded.

“Damien you're closer to my size so it'll be easier to explain with you” I gestured to him to throw a jab at me.

I was standing up straight, not in any stance or anything. Before the punch was even thrown, I was already lowering into a stance.

I brought my right arm up and pushed the jab aside with my forearm, my other arm down by my hip in a fist.

I grabbed his arm and kept it in place before going back to the previous stance, my forearm against his arm as I pushed the attack aside.

“So already even in these basic katas you can see what the style is about. I am deflecting the attack, depending on how fast the attack is will decide if you block it or deflect it.

The best option is to deflect it but your opponent could be faster in that case you block since it's an easier movement. Anyway, you can see that whilst I'm pushing the attack away, I'm also preparing with my left hand.

I am ready to attack” I demonstrated by throwing a slow and weak punch at Damien’s gut before returning it back to my hip.

“Or I can counter another attack. This style is about leading your enemy into a false sense of security. They’ll think you are on the backfoot and when they start believing that then you strike.

Maybe if I show what the basic katas can do it’ll help your motivation. Damien let’s spar and I’ll only use the basic katas”. I said with a smile as Damien nodded.

Damien shrugged before charging me, throwing a jab which I deflected, a kick came next which I used my left arm to block as I grabbed his left wrist with my right hand.

I pulled him to my right side as I spun and delivered a kick to his side causing him to stumble back with a grunt of pain.

I quickly rushed forward feinting an attack which caused him to raise his block allowing me to kick him in the leg which he checked successfully.

As he regained his bearings he immediately sent a kick to my gut which he feinted. I had already raised my block so when he spun keeping the momentum to deliver a roundhouse to my head.

He didn’t expect for me to push the attack up over my head as I dropped and swept his leg from under him causing him to drop to his back with a grunt of pain.

“Okay that’s enough” I said as I helped Damien up to his feet with a chuckle.

“So I used three katas in that fight, every attack I did was improvised, I used what I thought was best. The basic katas are only for defence. When I teach you more, I'll teach some of the better attacks to use, "I said with a smile as both quickly went back to practising the katas.

Soon I found myself sitting on my bed, legs crossed as I stared at my menu.

I blinked in surprise, so the skills now rolled like the Companions. Also the Shadow Clone Technique. Very strong but can I make a clone?

I got up and stood in my room, the knowledge of how to use it embedded in my mind. I could use both Mp and Qi for it.

I performed the hand seals as I used my Mp, splitting it and pushing it out of my body, my mind focused on the result I wanted.

“Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!” I said forcefully as a puff of smoke appeared in front of me, the smoke clearing to reveal a clone of me.

“You know we don’t have to shout that out right?” the second me said as I raised an eyebrow at him with a frown.

“It sounds cool alright leave me alone” I waved him off as he shrugged “so what do you feel like?” I asked.

“I have access to the Mp you split but I can only control it as much as we could before. Also I can’t access the system but I can use the skills we had before”. He said as his pupils span and turned black with red irises.

“Obviously I can only use the Sharingan since we don’t have anything else” he cancelled the technique and stared at me.

“Huh this is weird” I said as I looked him over, we were both in just shorts. I nodded proudly as I saw how toned my body was, it was easier to see how much my body had changed when looking down at it.

I smirked at him “Training?” I asked and he nodded with a chuckle before dispelling himself. I felt the Mp move back into my body as I let out a sigh.

I then set out, grabbing an mp book and started moving to the library. I had improved quite a bit.

Advanced Qi Cloak (Lvl 20):

An Advanced version of Qi Cloak, the user controls their Qi, wearing it like a skintight armour instead of having an aura. It allows easier and faster control of your Qi.

Abilities:

Increases Physical Capabilities

Can protect against attacks at the cost of your Qi.

Gives a Regeneration Factor whilst active.

Can sense Qi in an area around you.

Qi Cloak evolved into a more powerful version. Since my Qi Cloak now automatically enters the advanced states, the skill is different and the level reset back down to twenty.

But the power of it didn’t decrease at all it’s still at the same strength but now it can get even stronger.

Kage Bunshin No Jutsu - Epic (Lvl Max):

The User splits their energy in half, creating a clone of themself who has that energy. The clone is independent of the user and can think for themselves. It is an exact copy of the user.

A Clone can dispel themselves. When a clone dispels, the energy it has left is returned to the user and the memories it gained are also returned to the user.

My first maxed Skill, It makes sense I guess, the technique’s power is based on how much energy the user has. There is nothing to improve with levels. Also I can already perform the technique with only one hand seal.

I soon found myself sitting in our library, it was a lot bigger than it was a few years ago. Our parents had spent more money getting books for us. There were spellbooks and Qi Technique books.

I set about reading the next Mp book which was about more control techniques.

I stopped as I heard a faint scream. It sounded like one of those things your mind did to play tricks on you. I’ve heard random noises before for no reason just by my brain playing tricks on me.

But I focused on my Qi Sense and sensed nothing but on a whim I used the Sharingan.

My Qi sense felt nothing but with the Sharingan I saw three Mp Signatures moving outside of the library door.

I recognised the size of two of them, the Twins. The third looked like an adult, I thought at first it was Mother dragging the twins out for some late night training, it was around midnight after all.

But mother wouldn’t do that, she liked her sleep too much. An unsettling thought set in and so I followed the signatures out of the mansion and to the edge of the forest.

My thought was confirmed when the adult signature took off running. I could now feel their Mp with Qi Sense.

I also felt the ward alarms go off but no one would be able to get there in time so I took off.

My Qi Cloak wrapped around my body as I kept the Sharingan active.

The guy was fast and I had no clue how considering he was an Mp User.

Eventually I stopped on a branch looking down at a clearing, Sofia and Floria sat off to the side, chains tying their arms behind them.

I deactivated the Sharingan since I need to conserve my Mp.

There were three guys, the one that had kidnapped the twins and two more. The other two were both King Tier 1 whilst the third was King Tier 4.

I wouldn’t be able to beat them all at once. Maybe the two King Tier 1s but not the 4. I was only King Tier 2 after all. The Gap between us was two great.

I had to end this fast so I made a hand sign and created a clone out of Mp that dropped down and circled around the clearing.

He would distract the big guy and I’d deal with the two Tier 1s.

A few minutes later a saw the clone rush in and kick at the Mp User, the other two were Qi users.

The Mp user had a shield casted around him which deflected the kick away.

I saw the clone had the Sharingan active as he glared at the three.

Floria and Sofia were both crying before but stopped when they saw my clone enter the clearing.

************Sofia Avernus’ POV************

I was terrified, me and Floria were taken from our rooms by a gruff looking man, he had a raggy beard and unkempt hair.

I had no idea why they’d want to take us and all I could do was push myself against Floria hoping they’d just forget about us.

Tears wouldn’t stop running from my eyes but the shock of Ben appearing and kicking the shield of the big guy stopped us both from crying.

A familiar face gave us some hope. Ben was cheery and fun, he annoyed Damien a lot and seemed to enjoy doing it but they’d always laugh afterwards.

I wish I could spend more time with Ben but I was busy with Mp training.

But now he had a scowl on his face, he looked very mad. He was glaring at the man. Said man had a huge grin on his face.

“Oh the prodigy of the Avernus Family!” The man said with a laugh as he crossed his arms, not scared of Ben at all.

“You two stay back, i’ll deal with this one” the man’s laugh stopped as he spoke menacingly.

“Bro you need a shave and a bath, I can smell you from here” Ben said as he waved his hand back and forth in front of his nose as if smelling a bad smell.

The man growled in response as he raised a hand. I felt his Mp shot out and into the earth as I shouted “below!”.

Ben jumped into the air as he avoided a spike of earth shooting out of the ground.

The man glared at me “shut them up!” he said to the two men behind him who immediately turned to us.

I expected Ben to glare at them instead he smirked and nodded to me before dodging another spike of earth.

The two men started moving over to us as we both tried to shuffle away.

We backed ourselves against a tree and I screamed in terror “Ben Help!”.

That’s when I saw it, something dropped down from above us dropping an axe kick down onto the head of one of the men. The kick slammed the man’s head down into the dirt below, the floor cracking under the pressure.

I saw another Ben, a second one… What?

************Benjamin Avernus’ POV************

I immediately followed up my surprise by lunging at the second shocked man, a fist slamming into his face, empowered by Qi Fist as the man was sent tumbling back, his nose broken and leaking blood.

The idiots didn’t have their Qi Cloaks active and so it was trivially easy to get the drop on them.

The first guy was a crumpled mess on the floor barely capable of coherent thought, nevermind fighting.

I Qi stepped towards the second guy as I threw a punch at him, his cloak was active now but he was a tier lower than me and I wasn’t holding anything back.

I was aiming to kill.

I jabbed a punch into his gut causing him to bend over my fist. I then grabbed his hair and slammed a knee into his face.

The attack caused him to stumble back, his face covered in blood. Think I broke some teeth as well.

I then ran forward and sweeped his legs out from under him causing him to slam onto his back before I brought a leg up and slammed an axe kick into his gut.

The kick caused him to spew out blood with some sickness as he expelled his guts content.

I moved away as I went back to the first guy, grabbing him by the hair as I lifted him up, he was still conscious, his teeth broke and nose flattened.

His eyes were dazed, he had no idea what was going on. I sighed and dropped his head back into the floor.

I moved over to my sisters, whipping the blood on my knuckles off with my shirt. So I wouldn’t get any of them.

I used Haki, my right hand turning black as I crushed the chains on them, freeing both of them.

“You remember where the mansion is?” I ask and they shake their heads.

I dispelled my clone before recreating it, it immediately picked up both girls and set off towards the mansion.

I turned towards the Mp User who was looking at me in confusion.

I glared at him “Just so you know, i’m going to kill all three of you” I say with a calm tone as the man simply laughs at my face.

The memories the clone gave me were helpful.

I activated the Shaingan, the glowing red eyes seemingly unnerving the man a little. I glared his way, armament haki covered my right hand and forearm, the Sharingan swirled.

I wasn’t holding anything back, this man was dead and I would be the one to do it.

I immediately dashed forward, jumping over a blade of wind that sliced through the air. I side stepped as I landed, dodging a spear made of earth that tried to impale me.

You see the Sharingan could see Mp which means I could see what he was doing with his Mp. All my clone had done was dodge, causing the man to use a variety of attacks.

Which meant I had memorised the Mp movements he had done to cast those spells.

I was close to him now and I could see he had a shield around himself, a full aegis. I smirked as I saw the weakness in it.

I didn’t need to worry though and I knew it. Because as my fist slammed into the shield. The man smirked at first but then the shield simply popped.

The Haki infused punch slammed into the chest of the man. Qi Fist also slamming into him.

I smirked as my fist shot through his body, impaling him through the chest.

I reinforced my Qi Cloak which stopped the spray of blood from getting in my eyes and mouth.

I pulled my arm from his chest, his body collapsed to the floor without the support from my arm.

He was an Mp User and Haki was apparently very good at breaking through an Aegis.

I sighed as I deactivated Haki. I felt memories enter my mind. My sisters were safe at our home.

My clone had gotten a promise from the twins not to tell anyone about the clones I could make.

He had also dispelled before entering the grounds allowing the twins to go running to our worried parents who were looking around frantically.

About 15 seconds later, I felt myself being pulled into a hug by my mother, tears in her eyes as I smiled at the embrace.

I also looked over the two Qi Users, they were dead.

My mother turned head away from them. I felt a hand on my back, father behind me.

Mother let me go, they were seemingly caught off guard by my smile.

“I’m fine really” I said with a nod “they deserved it and I have no regrets. Shouldn’t have fucked with my smile” I growled out as I stepped back from them both.

I realised they were looking at my eyes in shock so I quickly deactivated the Sharingan and Haki.

“Who were they?” Father asked and I shrugged.

“Not a clue, I was too pissed. I saw red and didn’t want to converse with them” I sighed and crossed my arms, the blood covering my right one unnerving me a bit.

I didn’t regret killing them, they deserved it after all. But I wasn’t used to seeing so much gore.

When it was monsters it was easy to ignore because they weren’t intelligent species.

But these three humans were a lot harder to ignore.

“Can I go, I don’t regret killing them but seeing and being covered by so much Human gore is unerring?” I ask as I stare at them.

Father nodded “Alina, can you deal with this? I’ll contact the guard and have a talk with Ben here”.

Mother nodded, dad grabbed my wrist and started running pulling me along with him.

I shrugged and quickly sped up to match his pace. He was running much slower than he could so I could easily keep pace

We soon were sitting in his office. I had washed myself and gotten rid of my clothes.

Father looked worried “you okay Ben?” He asked and I chuckled slightly.

“I’m fine, i’m glad you already know i’m different, It’d be hard to fake being traumatised” I said jokingly as a small laugh came from my mouth.

“I’m fine because the world is better without those scum. I had no idea what they were going to do with Sofia and Floria so I saw red and decided they had forfeited their lives when they decided to mess with my family” I say with a cold gaze as I frowned.

Dad let out a sigh “Yep definitely different” he said with a chuckle trying to improve the mood. I couldn’t help but chuckle a little.

“I never claimed to be a good person Ben, I understand your feelings on the subject at hand and I understand why you did what you did… but Damien, your siblings won’t understand. There is a chance Damien will.

I want you to hide how you feel from your siblings. I don’t want them to think you’re evil or something like that, they're just kids after all” Dad asked.

I nodded as I smiled at him “Yea, I didn’t plan on telling them anyway, I planned to just act distant for a few days then start returning to my old self. If anyone asks i’ll just say I needed a bit of time to come to terms with what happened” I shrugged as Dad nodded in agreement.

“On a happier note, I may or may not have forgotten to tell you something about the tournament. Firstly it's taking place in the capital and secondly it's a team tournament. You don’t need a team but it is obviously highly recommended” Father explained.

As i processed that a light bulb went off in my head “I have an idea, am I able to send a message to Arthur?” I asked, dad smirked as he nodded.

“Just write out a letter and i’ll make sure it gets to him” Dad said.

I nodded then immediately jumped up with a grin “I need to go talk to Damien” I said with a chuckle as I turned and ran from the room.

This was going to be fun!
