Sharingan (Tomoe 1 - Lvl 1):

The infamous Dojutsu of the Uchiha Clan. More Tomoe improves the effectiveness of the abilities.

Abilities:

The user can see energy sources that reside in a creature's body.

The user has incredible clarity of perception.

The user can copy techniques he sees if he is capable of performing the technique.

Gain access to Genjutsu: Sharingan

So I was immediately disappointed, I can’t use it yet, well I can but it literally hurts to use. I am only Peasant Tier 1, the strength of my Qi and the amount I have is nowhere near enough to activate and use the Sharingan for any good amount of time.

I can have it on for a second before I start feeling tired and any more time, my gut starts to hurt and so do my eyes. It sucks but I can’t make use of this just yet but having it in my back pocket in the future will be fantastic.

I decided to put it in the back of my mind for now since I can’t use it so there is no point in getting excited about it just yet, I moved over to my bed and immediately went to sleep.

A few days passed where I gained one level in WSRSF and 2 in Qi Cloak.

Me and Damien were standing in front of our father, he had a contemplative look on his face as we both stood there in confusion.

“So!” he suddenly said as he clapped his hands together, startling us both “me and your mother have decided to do something for you both” he said as he turned and started walking back into the mansion gesturing us to follow him.

We quickly followed and he led us to the left side of the mansion, mine and my siblings' rooms were on the right side, so me and Damien were confused as to where he was taking us.

An idea seemed to take route in our minds as we both looked at each with an excited expression.

Father looked back at us with a smirk as he turned down a corridor that led to a very important room in the mansion “yep! We believe we can trust you two with access to the training room”.

Damien and I proceeded to jump in joy as we gave each other a high five, our father laughing at our reaction before he led us through two big wooden double doors and into a very spacious room.

I smirked as I looked around the room, it was big, it took up most of the left side of the mansion, about 30 metres in length and 20 metres in width, the ceiling went up three stories.

The door seemed to enter straight into the middle of the room, to the left was a large sparring arena, a mat on the floor that basically took up the entirety of the left side.

To the right were multiple contraptions to aid in physical exercise, some looked similar to some of the shit you could see in gyms.

There was also something else next to the sparring arena, a pedestal stood next to the arena.

Dad walked across the room to the wall that was opposite the door, he pressed his hand to the wall and injected some Qi.

The wall slid to the side as it revealed a ward stone.

Wardstones were very interesting, not particularly because of what they do but because of what they mean. A Wardstone powers and control wards that are connected to it.

Did I forget to mention mother’s speciality was wards? She is very talented with them and It would probably be a good guess to say she made the wards in this room.

Dad handed a knife to Damien as he gestured to the wardstone “cut your finger and spill some blood on the wardstone” he said, Damien quickly did what he said, cutting his finger slightly before he placed some blood on the stone.

Dad then gestured to me as Damien handed the knife to me, I wiped it off as I then cut my own finger and put some blood on the wardstone, my dad did have to hold me up so I could reach it but we got there in the end, being 5 does suck.

“Right now both of you are keyed into the wards, you are unable to fully access them since your mother locked us all out, the only one you can take full advantage of this room is her.

If you want to get full access when you’re older, I'd make sure to spend some time learning about wards and maybe if you impress her she’ll let you”. He suggested.

“Why don’t you have access?” I asked with my innocent 5 year old voice.

“Because your mother says and I quote “you are too reckless and stupid” “ he said.

“What did you do?” Damien asked, looking at him suspiciously.

“Nothing!” Father said, seemingly offended, he then looked at me for help but i just gave him a suspicious look as well.

He sighed and hung his head “why can’t my sons just trust their father” he mumbled to himself.

He sighed and straightened out his back as he looked at us “anyway! This room has a few features, it is activated through voice commands, for example Training Room: Dummy Level 1” he spoke with a clear voice as he pointed to the arena.

Slowly pure magic seemed to seep out of the floor as it slowly took the form of a featureless human, it stood in the arena staring forward waiting for someone to enter.

“Damien, you want to go?” father asked Damien with a raised eyebrow.

Damien quickly nodded as he walked onto the arena and stood in front of the dummy.

“Damien just say dummy, followed by fight start” father said.

Damine nodded before he spoke “Dummy: Fight Start!” he said in a clear and loud voice.

The dummy immediately lowered its stance and shot forward as it threw a few punches followed by a kick.

Each attack hit and sent Damien tumbling to the floor, the dummy stopped and moved back to its original place as soon as Damien hit the floor.

Dad proceeded to laugh out loud as Damien got back up with a glare aimed at our father “sorry son! The dummy’s power is on the level of a Knight Tier 1!” he said with a laugh.

Damien grumbled as he moved out of the arena, as soon as he stepped out the dummy vanished back into the floor.

Damien is still only a Peasant Tier 3, hell the only reason I could even slightly keep up with him is if he doesn’t use Qi and I use all of my abilities to their maximum.

Knight Tier 1 is much stronger than either Peasant Tier 5 which is the last of the Peasant Tier.

As you ascended the ranks, the power increases went up drastically, I guessed that the systems levels had something to do with tiers but until I started levelling up, I’d continue to have no clue.

The ranks were as follows and each has five tiers:

Peasant Tier

Knight Tier

King Tier

Earth Tier

Dragon Tier

Mythical Tier

Godly Tier

And finally Eternal Tier.

My father was an Eternal Tier fighter Qi User.

My mother on the other hand was a Mythical Tier Mp user. I wasn’t sure which tier she was at specifically.

Father then smiled at us “from now on, you can both use this room to train, soon i’ll give you both a sheet that will give you all the commands you can use since I have to ask your mother first” he chuckled as he turned and walked to the door.

He stopped before leaving as he glanced back at us “just a heads up, your mother can remotely view this room so i’d recommend not doing anything that may annoy her” he left with a small laugh as we started suspiciously looking around the room.

-{Break}-

I ducked under a strike that sailed over my head as my opponent tumbled forward, the momentum of their strike causing them to lose their balance as they fell forward onto the mat face first.

My 2nd opponent raised their hands, a blast of blue energy sailed towards me as opponent number 3 and 4 rushed at me from both of my sides.

I smirked as my Qi Cloak flared to life around me, the energy whipped the air around me a slight amount, the white wispy energy a lot more clearer and less transparent.

My Qi strengthened in my palm before I slapped the blast away. Opponent number 3 threw a kick to my head whilst opponent number 4 threw a kick at my ribs, one empowered by QI, the other had fire raging across the striking area.

The fire laced kick aimed at my head was ducked, the Qi empowered kick aimed at my ribs was blocked using Qi Block before I grabbed onto the leg of number 4 as I pulled them around, using their body as a bat to smack away number 3.

Both 1, 2, 3 and 4 laid down on the ground as I stood in the middle of the training room arena.

I heard claps as I looked over to see Damien, now 12 years old as he laughed. Tuck, Andrew, Sofia, and Floria all laid out around me, breathing heavily as their bodies protested the workout.

You see the four had apparently been neglecting their training to sneak to the village to hang out with friends, Dad and Mom found that unacceptable so they decided that our siblings would have to spar me and Damien two times each.

They decided to get it over with quickly by doing a 4 v 1, Tuck had been quite arrogant about it so Damien and I thought it good not to hold back.

Damien had absolutely destroyed them, he made it look easy of course me being younger than all of them, they severely underestimated my abilities so I immediately caught them off guard when I not only kept up with them but completely dwarfed them in skill.

3 years later and I was still Peasant Tier 1 unfortunately but my skills had levelled a lot and so whilst they had more base power than I did since they could cultivate normally, my skill was leaps and bounds ahead of theirs.

With a mix of Qi Cloak techniques and WSRSF I easily trounced them, of course I hadn’t even used the techniques I had with WSRSF, I had no need to after all.

As my younger siblings rested the door to the training room swung open as mother walked in with a frown “have you learned your lesson or would you like to spar with me as well?” she asked with a dangerous glint in her eye, even me and Damien shivered at that and it wasn’t even aimed at us.

They soon apologised and promised they would stop slacking off, honestly no one actually blamed them, me and Damien were the weird ones, I had already lived a lot of years from a past life and Damien… well he was just weird.

I soon found myself in my bedroom, laying back on my bed after having eaten dinner and a bath.

I found myself staring at my menu.

Name: Benjamin Avernus

Level: 1 (750/1000) (Peasant Tier 1)

I nodded as I read it over, I had levelled WSRF and Qi Cloak alot which is where most of the exp came from, some also came from Cooking, I levelled that up as well.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Next I clicked Skills

Skills

Qi Cloak (Lvl 51):

A basic use of Qi, you simply push your Qi out and cover your entire body with it.

Abilities:

Increases Physical Capabilities

Can protect against attacks at the cost of your Qi.

Gives a Regeneration Factor whilst active.

Can sense Qi in an area around you.

Techniques:

Qi Fist - You focus Qi on your fist and forearm in a specific way causing an increase in piercing power and strength. You then expel a large amount of Qi from your fist to cause internal damage within your target.

Qi Kick - You focus your Qi much like Qi Fist only instead of splitting between piercing and explosive power Qi Kick focuses completely on power, by expelling a large amount of Qi with the kick.

Qi Block - You focus your Qi to a particular part of your body. You gather a large amount and condense it together to form a more solid barrier of Qi than the passive blocking of damage that Qi Cloak does.

Qi Sight - You focus your Qi to your eyes and brain, giving you an enhanced perception and processing speed.

Qi Step - You focus your Qi to your legs and feet, to use this technique the user must focus their entire cloak into their legs thus meaning you don’t gain the passive benefits of QI Cloak. This technique can be used in combination with Qi Sight.

Once Qi Cloak reached Level 38, I gained the ability to sense Qi around me, every other level after that increased its range and increased the detail I got.

When I first unlocked it, I could only “see” blurry circles and as I levelled my “vision” improved.

Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist - Epic (Lvl 40):

This style involves understanding and re-creating within one’s body the flows of torrential and undulating forces, putting this into the user’s fists.

This style is the perfect blend of offence and defence.

Level increases understanding and mastery of the style and can unlock techniques created by User’s at higher levels.

Techniques:

Instant Movement – By using some fancy footwork, the user can elegantly and quickly move towards his opponent like he is flowing, using a swift feint, followed by a fast-piercing attack, the user targets the enemy's weak points from places they cannot predict.

Water Stream Encampment – The User creates an area where his fists destroy anything that enters, protecting those inside.

This had improved a lot too, I hadn;’t noticed it a lot in the lower levels but the skill just seemed to ingrain the knowledge in my brain, I just kind of knew how to do it.

I had all the knowledge in my mind as well so I could probably train others in it as well.

Cooking - Common (Lvl 19):

The user’s ability to cook. Higher level improves the quality and taste of food you cook.

Turns out I like cooking, this was just a hobby, something to do outside of training or sparring.

Sharingan - Legendary (Tomoe 1 - Lvl 2):

The infamous Dojutsu of the Uchiha Clan. More Tomoe improves the effectiveness of the abilities.

Abilities:

The user can see energy sources that reside in a creature's body.

The user has incredible clarity of perception.

The user can copy techniques he sees if he is capable of performing the technique.

Gain access to Genjutsu: Sharingan

And finally this piece of shit! I still can’t make much use of it, whenever I had a rest day, I would use it for as long as I could but guess what?

Not only can I barely use it, it seems higher rank skills take even longer to level and so this particular skill won’t be useful to me for a while and I also won’t be able to start levelling it for even longer.

Perks

Instinctual Qi User:

You are an Instinctual Qi User, a very rare ability to possess.

It allows you to use your Qi like you have been practising controlling it for years.

My Perks haven’t changed at all.

Companions (Limit: 1)

Neither has my Companions, I also do not know what that limit means. Something did change though.

Inventory

The Achievements for Epic Rank level up gave me 5 Gacha Tokens and I believe it's time to branch out a bit.

I quickly pulled up the Inventory and clicked on them. Five white cards with a black plus on them appeared in my hand as I stared at them. No pop up or anything showed up to tell me what they do so I guess I’d just have to figure it out.

Disease Immunity:

The User is immune to most mundane diseases. Diseases with a magical origin, created by a magical spell or have any amount of mana or Qi in them, you do not have an immunity to.

Wow… That is very good, of course it is nowhere near as good as it could be, there are a lot of diseases out there that won’t be blocked.

Epic Skill:

Busoshoku Haki - Epic (Lvl 1):

Busoshoku Haki allows the user to augment their body via their Qi, greatly increasing their power and resilience. The user can coat their body in Busoshoku Haki to improve their offence and defence, this change is invisible and noticeable unless sensed with a technique.

Levels improve control and power of Haki.

Techniques:

Oh come on! Another incredibly powerful technique that I most likely can’t use.

Rare Skill:

Unarmed Combat - Rare (Lvl 1):

The user is more proficient in unarmed combat.

Damage Increase: 1%

Speed Increase: 1%

Levels increase damage dealt with unarmed attacks.

Levels increased speed whilst in unarmed combat.

Can be evolved to higher tiers.

A good skill and will be useful in the future once its levelled.

Now onto Sharingan and Haki, both require Qi to be used, an amount of Qi I do not have access to. Both of them are high rarity skills which means they require a high amount of Qi to use effectively.

The only reason I can use WSRSF to a good level is because it requires no Qi and even then I'm limited in its use because my body isn’t strong enough. For example the techniques I have I can only use once because of how taxing they are.

I really need to start levelling up, I quickly got under my quilt as I turned to my side and fell asleep with that thought on my mind.

-{Break}-

The next day I found myself standing in front of my father as he inspected me.

We were in his office, he sat behind a large wooden desk, he had papers scattered across it.

You see father was technically a king, he had his own kingdom and was recognised by other kingdoms as a true kingdom. He was a war hero. The massive war that occurred about 14 years ago which also lasted a year ravaged the world.

A war between kingdoms one that stretched across continents. My father led an army, he was a general incredibly powerful and well known. When peace was negotiated for his achievements the King of Iciya, the continent we currently live on pushed for my father to become a king himself.

He was granted this mansion and a village that stood nearby. The mansion sat about atop a hill that overlooked the village, the village’s name is Averni, it was changed when the Avernus Kingdom was formed.

Avernus Kingdom is basically a subsidiary of the Kingdom of Iciya. My father tried to fight against the decision but eventually gave up. He retired from the army and came here with mother to start a family.

At first all they cared about was raising their family but recently father has been trying to improve the village and his kingdom.

You see the land that makes the majority of Avernus Kingdom is a huge forest that is filled to the brim with monsters. Before father and mother came along the village was in poverty, they were constantly attacked and harassed by monsters.

When father and mother arrived they attacked the monsters, pushing them away from the village and mother set up wards to protect it and magical guardians to keep the monsters away.

I had no clue how or really what she did since I had no clue how mp worked or anything like that. All I knew was that golems made of earth protrolled around the edges of the village.

Because of the Avernus family protection, the village was capable of growing in population.

Father has been trying to get a Guild set up here, to be exact a Hunter’s Guild so he could gain Gold from the forest of monsters. The forest in question was named the Averni Forest after the village.

Father looked stressed, he had less time to spend with any of us because of the Guild, they were being “assholes” as he liked to say so I was confused as to why he asked me here.

“You have been attempting to cultivate for the past three years correct?” he finally said.

I nodded in response.

“And you haven’t gone up a tier yet” he stated as he stared at me.

“Benjamin, you seem incapable of cultivating the regular way which confuses me greatly, I have contacted some old friends from back in the war days and all of them say it should be impossible for someone to be incapable of cultivating” he said with a sigh.

“However there is another way to cultivate, by killing monsters and absorbing their energy so in an hour me and you will be heading into the forest and you will use this technique to see if it will work” he said with a nod as he picked up and tossed a scroll at me.

I caught it as I opened it and read the scroll, it detailed a way to absorb and incorporate a creature's energy into your own, I noticed how it said creature and not monster.

“This technique is generally discouraged and there exists lesser versions of it that only absorb monster’s energy but I don’t have access to any of them and I can’t be bothered to buy any so you'll learn this one, you may get suspicious looks but I doubt you’ll care too much” he smirked at me as I gave a little chuckle.

“You have an hour to memorise how it is done then we will leave and practise it in the forest” he said as nodded at me and gestured for me to leave.

-{An Hour Later}-

I slowly walked through the woods, trees surrounding us as dad led me further into the forest.

His eyes darted around as I felt him use Qi sense to look around “no… no… too weak” he mumbled to himself as he walked.

His eyes eventually widened before he gestured for me to follow as he set off in a jog. I had to immediately activate Qi Cloak to be able to keep up with him.

We ended up coming to a clearing, dad stopped me and I drew in my Qi cloak as I looked ahead. I immediately froze in shock as I looked at a massive monster.

In the clearing was a huge white furred wolf, it was currently eating a carcass of a huge rhino like creature, its body was way too mangled for me to be able to discern anything about it so I just focused on the wolf.

It was easily about 30ft long and stood at a height of about 15-20ft. Its fur was tainted brown with dirt, it had sharp red eyes.

Dad slowly walked out into the cleaning as he looked at the wolf. The beast turned, its eyes settling on me, unsettling me before they switched to my dad.

The beast tensed and froze as it suddenly seemed worried. It had some semblance of intelligence and I was pretty sure I saw fear in its eyes as It stared at my father.

It seemed to recognise him, the wolf lowered its stance, my father narrowing his eyes as the beast prepared to attack.

My eyes widened as the wolf made its move, it dashed to the side as it turned and ran.

I was surprised to see it run but even more surprised when it was suddenly thrown back to the middle of the clearing by my father, I hadn’t even been able to tell what happened, nevermind react to it.

Dad moved forward, appearing in front of the wolf as he slammed an axe kick down onto its back, its body crashing down into the ground sending rocks, dirt and dust flying into the air.

As the dust settled I stared in surprise as the wolf lay on the ground unmoving, father gestured for me to move closer as he kept his foot pressed down onto the beast’s back.

I moved forward as I calmed down my racing heart, I knew my father was strong, I just had never seen it before.

That creature that terrified me down to my bones and yet it was barely even a nuisance to him, I obviously had a long way to go.

“Finish the beast off and use the technique” he said as he focused on the creature making sure it did nothing to me.

I nodded as Qi enveloped my fist and I used Qi Fist to strike its head.

It took a few punches and a bit of Qi to finish the beast off.

I attempted to use the ability but it seemed the system had other ideas as it did it for me, my xp bar increasing as I felt myself go up in tier, my Qi amount expanding.

Status

Name: Benjamin Avernus

Level: 2 (750/2000) (Peasant Tier 2)

I gained 1000 Xp from that… Damn!

“Good it seems absorbing monster energy works for you” he nodded as he gestured for me to follow him.

We started heading back home “I do not have the time to take you on expeditions like this but fortunately, the Hunter’s Guild should be setting up a Guild branch in Averni soon, so we can hire some Hunter’s to take you and Damien on these trips” he said.

I nodded as I followed along. “So for now i’ll just keep training as usual then” father nodded in agreement as we headed home.

Soon I found myself in my room, standing in the middle of it as I stared at my hand. I activated my Haki, I felt Qi be consumed as it transformed into Haki and covered my body, I had to shut it off immediately since it drained my Qi quickly.

I sighed as I rubbed the back of my head. I wanted to test it but I couldn’t, I wouldn’t be able to use it a decent amount until Knight Tier.

I couldn’t wait until I could use it more efficiently, dad’s idea of hiring some Hunter’s could help greatly, I couldn’t beat anything in that forest by myself, not yet.

I didn’t know much about One Piece, I had watched until the end of the Alabasta Arc and stopped then. I hadn’t watched past it but I did know stuff about it like Luffy’s gear 5 and such.

I also had some basic knowledge about Haki, I knew Armament Haki improved offence and defence and allowed Haki users to hit Logia’s.

I know Observation Haki can give you a sense of some sort.

And I know you could knock out weaker people with Conqueror's Haki.

That’s all I knew about Haki, I also knew a few devil fruits but I wasn’t sure about any specifics.

I was not as knowledgeable about One Piece as I wish I was. It would’ve helped after all, I could’ve known the limits of the skill.

There was no reason to continue thinking about it so I just flopped down on my bed, excited for when I could start going on trips into the forest.

-{3 Months Later}-

Today was the day me and Damien would be going on a trip with some Hunters, the guild had set up a branch about 2 months ago but it took awhile for hunters to start heading to Averni village, it was soon known as a place where higher level hunters could let loose.

The village was now more of a town because of the influx of Hunters, people saw an opportunity so they moved in along with the throng of Hunters, many inns and stores were opened catering to Hunters and now the guild had sent patrols through Averni Forest.

They had found a lot of Dungeons, the news causing even more Hunter’s to travel to Averni.

Dungeons were places with a high concentration of energy, a dungeon core forms and it uses its surroundings to create a dungeon with monsters and such.

They can take many forms but are always dangerous to any creature. Dungeon Monsters and regular monsters are different, if a regular monster wanders into a dungeon, they will be killed just like any humanoid.

Dungeons consume fallen creatures to power themselves so there happens to be a lot of dungeons in the Averni Forest.

Currently me and Damien were standing outside of our home, I was glaring at the boulder that still stood, it had holes and cracks all over it but because I couldn’t increase my tier, I didn’t have the raw power required to destroy it.

Soon the people we were supposed to meet walked up to us from the long path that led down to Averni Village.

It was time for some Monster Hunting.

Bonus Chapter 1 - Kai’s Woes

I happen to be a very sane and patient individual “fuck!” I never get angry when I make a mistake or anything like that, in fact I happen to be known as a very calm person.

A second later, the bottle I was fucking with was tossed across the room, it slammed into the wooden wall, shattering into pieces as I glared at the spot it hit.

Alchemy Proficiency (Lvl 5):

The user combines and mixes ingredients to create potions and elixirs of varying effect.

Levels increase the speed of the creation process.

Levels increase power and effectiveness of created items.

This skill was causing me so much grief “Kai!” I heard a shout as I paled slightly, the door to my room being thrown open as a woman stormed “I swear to god if you break one more potion bottle, i’ll throw you to the wolves!” the red headed woman shouted at me as I sheepishly rubbed the back of my head.

I chuckled as she let out a sigh “sorry Sensei” I apologised as I set about cleaning up the broken glass.

It didn’t take long until I went back to what I was trying to accomplish.

I was using Alchemy, taught to me by my sensei, it was difficult, for a starter only a practitioner of Mp could use it, secondly it was complicated.

Currently I was in the process of making a simple health elixir, it increased the users health, to put it simply in game terms, it would improve your maximum hp.

It was only the simple variant so its effect wasn’t very good and yet it was still complicated to make.

Sensei went about watching me, helping correct any mistakes I made.

About an hour later I made my first successful elixir.

I was very happy about that, I had only started on Alchemy recently after I started training in magic. I cannot believe it took me 3 years to get my mp control to a suitable level.

That sucked since I wanted to get onto magic as quickly as possible, currently I was working on the basic spells whilst practising Alchemy in my free time.

My Sensei, one Arinetta Hefilger, a very accomplished mage who saw my amazing potential for what it was.

She took me on as an apprentice, she said she wanted me to show off when I went to the Iciya capital.

Yep I already knew where I wanted to go when I turned 17, Iciya Hunter Academy.

Any self respecting gamer like me would want to kill monsters for a living and that’s what I would do. It also helped that I was sure Benjamin and George would go there.

George because he’s a fighter at heart and Benjamin because he’s a self respecting gamer like me.

I was unsure about James, I couldn’t predict what he would end up doing, we’d just have to see.

Soon it was time for dinner and so I went downstairs and sat at the table as Sensei put some food in front of me, vegetarian I might add which was difficult to get used to.

It was helped by the fact that I was a FUCKING ELF! Yep, the dudes from Lord of the rings and anime, I was a full blown Elf.

I had long brown hair with two pointy ears, peach skin and two bright blue eyes.

I had laughed in my head for a while when I figured that out and of course I had the looks to go along with it.

My sensei was a human, she had red hair, not like other redheads from Earth, she had actual red hair like from an anime.

You see, my tribe where I was born had its own customs, there were elven cities out there but I just happened to be born to a nomadic tribe.

My tribe's customs were using a bow and nothing else, they were all about protecting wildlife from hunters and such, Elves had an inborn ability to use Mp, we were much better at it than every other race.

But my tribe hated magic and so for most of my life I was incapable of training in it so when I found Sensei travelling through the woods when I was on a walk, I did everything I could to get her to take me away.

I managed to convince In was being neglected, which granted I kind of was.

You see Elves don’t show affection like others humanoid races do, or at least my tribe doesn’t.

They were distant and expected you to be completely independent after a certain age and it sucked considering I had always had supportive parents.

I enjoyed being with my Sensei more anyway, I disliked the tribe and a lot of them disliked me because of how different I was.

I would probably never see them again and I was fine with that.

In about 9 years I'll be off to Iciya with magic in my hands and I'll make sure to show off for my Sensei.
