A Nerfed Gamer in Avia Chapter 7 - Advanced Qi Techniques.

4 months had passed and a lot had happened in 4 months, firstly I had 6 more months until the tournament and I had turned 9 years old.

Also my previous plan of doing this tournament and then the next one has been thrown out the window.

That is no longer happening, I had gained around 70000 xp in the 4 months and this is where my tier and level stands now.

Status

Name: Benjamin Avernus

Level: 13 (1550/23000) (King Tier 2)

I’m sure you can see the massive increase in exp required. Firstly, the exp amount increased by 3000 every level whilst in King Tier. Secondly, my tier only went up when I hit level 13, it took 2 levels for me to increase in tier.

So not only was it more difficult to level up but I had to go through more levels to tier up. It meant I wouldn’t be as high of a tier as I thought I would be when the tournament came around.

I guessed I’d be around Earth Tier 5, by the way Earth Tier is the next Cultivation Tier after King.

Unless I step up the grinding then I won’t reach that goal.

My skills have also advanced. QI Cloak reached 87, WSRSF reached 62, giving me another 3 rare+ gacha tokens from the achievement.

Sharingan reached level 5 since I was using it to help train my control of Mp. Haki reached level 13 and had a new technique added to it.

Techniques:

Hardening - The user clads their desired body part with a coating which is mostly black. With hardening, the affected body part becomes stronger in terms of both offence and defence. The User simply has to infuse a large amount of armament haki into the chosen area.

Also Unarmed combat had evolved, the max level was 25.

Unarmed Combat - Epic (Lvl 5):

The user is more proficient in unarmed combat.

Damage Increase:5%

Speed Increase: 5%

Levels increase damage dealt with unarmed attacks.

Levels increased speed whilst in unarmed combat.

Can be evolved to higher tiers.

Also the upgrade cards used part disappeared since I haven’t used any on it.

The rarity increased which I have to guess means that the max level has also increased. The fact I had to level it again was annoying but I could see the benefit if I did level it.

Also it seemed to be levelling at the same pace which means that it would only get harder than it was before when I got above level 25.

That was everything, I hadn’t done much else and I hadn’t used any gacha Tokens yet.

Nothing really new had happened until today that is.

Damien, dad and I stood in our usual training spot outside the mansion. The familiar broken boulders sat off to the side as a reminder of how far we had come since then.

Hell I don;t know what was up with this family but everyone was a prodigy. It was because of the system and I just understood Qi and how to apply it.

Damien was able to keep up with me even though I was an IQU and had a system. Father was one of the strongest on the planet. Mother was one of the most talented mp users in the kingdom and was amazingly good at wards.

The Twins took to Mp with ease and with talent that only their mother had displayed before.

Andrew and Tuck were talented as well, not on the level of Damien but still very talented, they’d be joining us in training soon. I had a feeling my father was delaying them for something and I soon learned why.

“So Damien and Ben, you two are finally ready to start on some more Advanced applications of Qi. First, the easiest advanced technique and the foundation of every other Qi technique you will learn.” father said.

I guessed he wanted us to learn this technique before he started focusing on Tuck and Andrew.

“Focus on your Qi sense and watch what I do”. He said with a smirk as his Qi Cloak flared to life.

It was very easy to sense my father's Qi. Having a higher tier made you stronger but also made your Qi more vibrant and obvious.

We both watched and sensed as his Qi started slowly moving inward. Our eyes widened as his Qi slowly layered itself around his body like a skin tight suit then we actually gasped in shock as he disappeared to our Qi sense.

He laughed a little “the first technique was simply called Advanced Qi Cloak. It was a stronger and more versatile version of Qi Cloak, your Qi is closer to you, allowing you to control it faster. It is also more stable and strong. The second was Qi Blind”. He said with a chuckle.

He laughed as our Qi Cloaks flared to life, both of us immediately working to perform the Advanced Qi Cloak.

Father kept laughing as he saw us struggle to keep our Qi close to our body, all it wanted to do was surround and protect us, we had to condition it and force it to obey.

His laughter died after a minute as he stared in shock as we both got closer to accomplishing it.

5 minutes later he was staring in shock as both looked at ourselves. Our Qi layered over us like skin tight armour.

We then both looked at our father staring in annoyance as we both laughed, our concentration breaking, the technique dropping as our Qi Cloaks returned to normal.

“I hate you two so much, that took me a week to get down and you two did it in 6 minutes!” he said, annoyed as he started pacing.

“I expected you to get it in a few days at least, god I hate prodigies!” he said with a frustrated voice.

“Anyway” he said with a sigh “you have the hard part down now all you need to do is practise with it, spar, use your techniques and such until it becomes instinctual. Once you no longer have to concentrate on using the technique, then you have mastered it and can begin on advanced techniques” he said with a sigh.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

He turned and began walking away “until you have mastered it, i won’t be teaching you anything more. I am going to get Andrew and Tuck started on Qi Fist, have fun!” he shouted as he set off in a job towards where Andrew and Tuck would be training.

Me and Damien shrugged before turning and facing each other, lowering into combat stances. “Want a bet?” Damien asked.

“Sure,” I said with a smile.

“No Qi Techniques, only the Advanced Qi Cloak and martial arts. If I win, you teach me your martial art. If you win I owe you a favour?” he suggested and I nodded with a smirk.

Immediately the fight started. Damien rushed me as I bent my body backwards, his fist going over me as I continued the momentum.

I flipped back, my hands planting on the ground as my feet came up. One foot snapped out and kicked Damien in the back of the head as I easily landed the flip and gave Damien a grin.

He knew I was showing off as he glared at me. He quickly rushed in using the Avernus Martial Art to rush me, three consecutive attacks were sent at me.

We were both struggling to concentrate on the Qi Cloak. I decided to forgo my flashy moves.

I focused on the Qi Cloak. I lifted an arm, Damien’s first punch slamming into it, my Qi Cloak had shrunk to my skin in that one area. Damien’s next attack was blocked the same.

His third attack was a kick aimed at sweeping my legs. I checked the kick with my shin, Qi Cloak blocking the hit.

I quickly followed up the checked kick by rushing into Damien’s guard, slamming a fist into his gut. He managed to control his Qi Cloak to block the hit but it stunned him long enough for me to slam another attack into his gut.

Before I crouched down and kicked out, sweeping his legs out from under him, copying his combo.

As he hit the ground and stayed laid down, he let out a sigh.

I put out a hand as I helped him up to his feet. The spar was over, nowadays we prefer doing spars like this. The first to hit a three attack combo was the winner.

It made us get used to the combos we usually used, forcing us to come up with more in the middle of a fight. Allowing us to improve how we thought in combat. It was fun and good practice.

Also we had to mix things up since we had gotten used to each other’s fighting styles which gave us nothing more to learn.

“Okay fine” I said as I chuckled at his hopeful look “I’ll teach you but you still owe me a favour and you have to wait until we both mastered Advanced Qi Cloak” I said as I stared at him.

I was caught off guard as he pumped a fist into the air. Before he Qi Stepped in front of me, grabbing me by the arm before throwing me over his shoulder and into the ground.

He immediately turned and ran “you little bastard!” I grumbled as I jumped up and ran after him.

************Geroge Avernus’ POV************

I was surprised yet again, it took Damien and Ben two days each to master the Advanced Qi Cloak.

That wasn’t the only thing, Ben had started training Damien in his own Martial Art. Granted they hadn’t had much time.

But that was why I found myself standing in front of a confused Ben and Damien, both sweaty as they stood in the training room arena.

“I'll repeat myself, I’d like to also learn your martial art. Unfortunately I can’t commit as much time to it as Damien can but I would still like to try and learn if you’re willing?” I asked Ben.

Ben nodded dumbly “Ummm, that’s fine dad. But I have to ask… Why?” he asked as I chuckled.

“You both know I went to war for the Iciya Kingdom in the Fractured War. I’m sure you both know that the war was between pretty much every kingdom. Well in that war I searched far and wide for a fighting style like yours.

I was constantly fighting multiple opponents, sometimes it was intelligent races and monsters at the same time. It was bloody and horrible. I wanted a martial art that could allow me to go mostly on the defensive whilst being capable of counter attacking with ease.

I tried with the Avernus Fist Style but I failed. I instead made a style that benefitted from my superior cultivation level allowing me to go all out on offence. I blitzed opponents, beating them before they even knew what happened.” I explained.

Benjamin nodded as he crossed his arms. “I don’t know how my style would fare against a large group. I know it’s capable of fighting at least about four opponents at once. Never had to test it against more than that. Those were monsters as well”. He admitted.

“I don’t care, If it isn’t as useful to me as i think then i’ll modify it so it works as I want it to” I said and Ben nodded. Some people would get mad at their work being changed but Ben was mature, he didn’t care.

“What’s the name of it?” I asked, Damien immediately began laughing as he was reminded of something.

Ben glared at him before pointing accusingly at him “it’s not that bad!” Damien immediately began laughing more as he started holding his chest looking pained, i noticed he hadn’t breathed once since he began laughing.

Ben kept glaring at him “I was five!” Ben said with a growl. Damien began patting Ben's shoulder as he curled over, holding his stomach “please…stop” Damien said breathlessly, as he tried to stop laughing.

“What is the name?” I asked hesitantly.

Ben sighed as he rubbed his face “Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist or WSRSF” he admitted with a glare at Damien “It’s a cool name asshole” he grumbled at Damien.

I simply blinked “I have honestly heard worse” I admitted, Damien stopped laughing as he stared at me “really?” he asked and I nodded “impossible” he said with a smirk as Ben immediately spun and tried to take Damien’s head off with a roundhouse kick.

Damien ducked it expecting the attack as he chuckled.

“Over the top name aside, it’s a very capable style and worth learning” I said with a nod “how have you been training Damien?” I asked Ben.

“Well it’s hard” he said as he crossed his arms and sighed “I learned it through trial and error, simply trying everything i could. Obviously that’s a crap way to learn.

So I devised a basic training plan. I made katas for you to go through. They’ll give you a feel of the style.

I should explain a bit about how the style works. It uses katas that teach you good ways to defend against certain attacks. The basic katas will teach you a basic defence.

You’ll practise them until they become ingrained into your muscles, until you can do them without thinking. That’ll give you a good foundation to work off of.

Then I’ll teach you more complicated defences, they’ll be harder to learn but will offer a more versatile defence.

That’s what I have planned as of right now, that may change if I come up with a better idea”. He explained.

I nodded as I crossed my arms as well “I know other martial arts that do the same, are all of your katas based on defence?” I asked.

Ben nodded before explaining “So this style doesn’t give much offensive attacks. Some martial arts have specific techniques you can use in place of a regular kick or punch.

This one doesn’t, everything in it is based around defence and counter attacking. It gives you the capabilities to defend and counter attack but you have to learn the attacks yourself.

I started off with just basic jabs and kicks. I used my spars with Damien and Arthur to steal some of their attacks and incorporated them into my repertoire”. Ben said.

I nodded “which brings me to my next point” Benjamin said.

“In return father I want you to teach me the Avernus Fist style, Damien, I'll use my favour to get you to help me practise in said style”. We both shrugged, we were both completely okay with that.

I nodded “we’ll train whilst Andrew and tuck are practising their techniques and instead of our morning workout” I said as Benjamin nodded in understanding.

We then trained in WSRSF for two hours before dinner, the last dinner before the Zeroth Family set off on their journey home. They had spent this day getting ready to leave.

************POV Returned************

After dinner we all stood in front of the mansion, me and Damien across from Arthur.

For fun I had taught them both how to dap someone up, told them that is like a secret friendship thing.

I was amused but I enjoyed it. Arthur immediately dapped Damien up and put an arm around him, giving him a small hug.

He then moved to me, we simply clasped hands and then fist bumped each other, i was still too short for a proper hug.

We had become close friends, I had already added Damien to my best friend group and I was glad to add Arthur to it as well.

It made me even more pissed that I wouldn’t be able to go to the Hunter’s academy with them both.

Damien most of noticed my frustration as the Zeroth Family boarded their carriage and set off. He put an arm on my back and patted it, I let out a sigh as I crossed my arms.

“We’ll be visiting him after your tournament, then you can finally kick his arse” Damien said with a chuckle, I mimicked him.

I watched the carriage pull off with a smile. It was like I was in two different worlds at the same time. That’s what it felt like to think of my old friends and my new ones.

It was hard to imagine them together but I know it'll happen eventually. I knew they were here in this world as well with me. I just had to find them.

There must have been a reason we were sent to this world. If all of us are just as powerful as I have become then I can’t imagine what we were sent here to deal with.

Our strength would only grow. Hell I didn’t even know if there was a rarity above Legendary yet. I have to assume that there is because there are more powerful abilities than the Sharingan out there.

For example would the Rinnegan or the Mangekyo be in that rarity?

I have no idea and It would probably be awhile before I found out, I was tempted to use the Gacha Tokens. I had to see if I could get one but I decided not to bother yet. I had other things to focus on and I didn’t want more Skills I had to worry about just yet.

Also Companions are going to be very useful in the future since I can give Skills to them. Imagine an Alpha Dire Wolf with a Sharingan. That would be funny.

Also that poses another question, can I get duplicates of already obtained Skills?

What happens when I give away a skill? Does it disappear from my skill list forever? Can I get it back? Is it only temporary? Can I still use it?

I have all these questions that I won’t find out for a while. I want a strong companion first, one that would be worth the investment. Before I start testing what happens to skills I give away.

I soon found myself laying on my bed again, my head in my pillow as I laid down with my eyes closed. I had started sleeping in just my underwear and some shorts recently.

It was spring now so it was starting to get hotter and I would find myself sweating when I woke up if I wore too much clothing.

I soon fell asleep, many thoughts in my mind.
