Before my mother left and I was taken in by Elizabeth Chronicler aka The Warden. Our life was some what peaceful, we lived in secret, but no one really bothered us. My mom would take me out from time to on days when she would dye her hair so no one would notice how blue it was. On days we couldn't, the old man would bring me delicious sweets.
"Mom, if the old man isn't my grandpa, then who is he?" (Chris)
"Well, that's a hard question to answer... I guess you can say he's an old friend of mine. Although I don't think he minds you calling him gramps."
"Do you have any relatives?"
"I did once, when I was a child. Unfortunately, there was a feud between my family. You see I was originally from a city known as the Last Frontier. After the fighting ended, I was all alone, wandering the streets an orphan until..." (Denise)
"Until?" (Chris)
"My soon to be father found me. He saved me from the slums and showed me a world I never thought existed outside that city." (Denise)
"My actual grandfather? Is he still alive?" (Chris)
"You ask a lot of questions, don't you Christine?" (Denise)
My mother would easily get annoyed when people asked to many questions. When it came to more difficult questions, she would ignore them or tell me that I'm too young but there were times when she would cave in and answer them. Although I asked about Allister, I also learn about my dad. He was a mage from the Magic kingdom, apparently they met during her academy days.
"Unfortunately, we had a run in with some bad folks who wanted to do us harm and he sacrificed himself for me. I was lucky enough to sneak into this city thanks to Liz... a friend of mine although I had already snuck in here many times before and that's how I knew Marcus. I'm sorry I mean, gramps." (Denise)
She briefly mentioned the things she did from her younger days. Although I was born with brown hair, I always assumed the blue hair ran in the family and I was just unlucky to have gotten it. She taught me magic but never any of the difficult spells. Just small things like creating water balls but I think her the real reason was to get the feel for sensing magic. My time with her went by fast because before I knew it, she was gone.
------------------------------------------
"I see. Well, It's a good thing I'm here." (Allister)
"You know, it still feels weird calling you grandfather. You're practically the same age as me and when I first saw you, you were a kid. " (Chris)
"Yea well I can't help it. It's part of my curse. I age normally unless I drink monster blood, then I could cheat time, but when I die, I get younger again. Almost as if time is being reversed. I've been just about every age you can think of." (Allister)
It was a normal school day for Allister and Chris. They had just finished classes and were now walking to go get some deserts. The reason for this was because Allister had promised to talk about Chris's mom. The last thing he needed was her complaining more and more, he tried to ignore and hide from her over the summer and luckily it wasn't to difficult. Selena had him running around and dealing with security work, exploring certain areas of the forest to make sure nothing abnormal was happening. In reality, Allister sole mission was to analyze the barrier that surrounded the city and gave it, it's name.
"Alright, we got our ice cream! Now, tell me everything." (Chris)
"Geez, impatient, aren't we? Where do I even begin? I guess from when I first met her... The year was 1988...." (Allister)
-----------------------------------------------
March 4, 1988. New York city.
image [https://img.wattpad.com/3ed6ef4a6dc59b6d2c0b88d1c38fea258820101e/68747470733a2f2f73332e616d617a6f6e6177732e636f6d2f776174747061642d6d656469612d736572766963652f53746f7279496d6167652f68584147323771515a6d54574d413d3d2d313336303631383034332e313761323238666137653863333166633637353836353333363036342e6a7067?s=fit&w=1280&h=1280]
A girl sat beneath the bridge, as the world went by, no one paying any attention to her. She lived in the slums, normally people would even try to avoid this location, but it was also the fastest way to work. Behind her consisted of many tents which signified that she wasn't the only one going through poverty and yet, no one else tried to help. Life felt meaningless until a man approached her.
"Hey kid. It's pretty chilly out, you should find a campfire and warm up. Then again, chances are you'll just end up dying in the future anyways." (Allister)
"I don't care." (Denise)
Allister was roaming this city in order to get some info, after all, the poorest part of the city was also the perfect location for the darkest of people to hide. He stumbled upon Denise by chance but he also noticed something very unique about her.
"What's your name?" (Allister)
"I have no name. The person I was died with my family and my home." (Denise)
Allister got down on one knee. His face didn't show sadness but rather, it was the look of someone who understood her situation.
She's just like me. Even though she looks lifeless, her eyes tell me a different story. (Allister)
"Well than, how about I give you a purpose young lady. Would you like to come home with me?" (Allister)
Denise stared as bloodlust began to leak from her body. Allister gave a gentle smile but from her perspective, he looked like a creepy old man. It was nothing new for this girl, many older men tried to take advantage and they eventually met the same fate. Allister was about to be her next victim, in a moment that felt like seconds, Allister was already laying on the ground with a knife in his through. Blood splattering onto the girl.
"Disgusting old man." (Denise)
She was angry, every time someone was killed by her, she had to change locations. Denise walked away from the scene but froze when she witnessed Allister get back on his feet, looking slightly younger.
"For the record Lupe, this was your idea. I had a feeling she was going to kill me." (Allister)
Denise was stunned, he was alive and acted like nothing happened.
What the hell is he? A monster? Is he talking to himself? (Denise)
"What do you mean I was the one who stopped? You told me too." (Allister)
She wasted no time attacking again. This time she continued to slice away but it was useless since he just got back, this time as a teenager.
"That's enough kid, you're making a scene. I get it, you feel scared, you don't know who to trust. Hopefully you got all that rage out. So do you want to die here, or do you want to leave this hell?" (Lupe)
"Who and What are you..." (Denise)
"Come and find out." (Lupe)
The sinister voice sent chills down her spine but also, had a gentle feeling to it. Curiosity overwhelmed her and so she went. they eventually made their way to a fancy apartment that was located at the highest floor of a town known as the Magi Resort.
"Fancy." (Denise)
"Not bad right? Sorry about Lupe, she can be a little straight forward. I'm surprised you were able to even speak, most people would pass out from the dark aura she leaks out." (Allister)
"Who cares. I killed you... And instead of dying, you got younger." (Denise)
"Yes well, I don't usually look that old." (Allister)
Denise, pondered over the question "Who is are? What are you?" Clearing he wasn't a vampire and yet he was somewhat immortal.
"What brings you to this city anyways?" (Denise)
"Thanks to my aunt, I have an arranged marriage with a vampire who's an ambassador for her people, or better yet... the city she's from. I prefer to avoid to useless things but I still have work to do here." (Allister)
"I see." (Denise)
"It seems you know about them, but you never actually met one have you?" (Allister)
"My mother died of childbirth... and the family who took me in were simple workers who got into debt. There was nothing special about us but I've seen some interesting things in this city." (Denise)
Figures, New York is pretty big and tends to extract the unknown. (Allister)
Allister narrowed his eyes, focusing on the girl, to be more accurate... He was analyzing the colors surrounding her. He was able to tell that Denise had some magic but what caught his attention the most was the glowing emblem beneath her clothes.
A birthmark? Now I know why you were so interested in her. Lupe. (Allister)
> After we took her in, we taught her almost everything we knew. I of course focused on basic magic while Lupe worked on teaching her how to fight in hand-to-hand combat as well as swords. (Allister)
After Denise turned 8, she began her training Not once did she complain but her eyes clearly showed annoyance. On the highest floor of the building was a balcony, big enough to house a garden. Two wooden sticks clashed, as their wielders fought with the intention to overpower the other. The moment Denise though she saw an opening, her body was already spinning in the air until she landed on her face.
"Dammit! I almost had you mom!" (Denise)
"You think? You forget I'm like a million years old, but you are getting better." (Lupe)
"I just realized this but why doesn't dad teach me Swordsmanship? Not that there's anything wrong with you." (Denise)
"Easy. I was the one who taught him. Therefore, it's only natural that you should learn from the original source." (Lupe)
"You told me that I have a hidden talent for this. Why is that?" (Denise)
"The mark on your body. It means you're a descendent of one of the rounds. A group of people who fought for a king and the church. They exceled in swordsmanship, their ability to move faster than a normal human. On top of that, your eyes can perceives things as if they're moving slow, right? Even though I've been teaching you, has there ever been a point where you messed up and yet your body just automatically move on its own? " (Lupe)
"All the time... Is that the power of my family?" (Denise)
"Correct. On top of having a magic background? You are very special person. I wish I could tell you more, but I didn't live in that era and Lupe's knowledge is limited as well. Everything else is probably just fairytales. Although I did hear a rumor that they split off after the fall of the king and corruption of the church was made known, but I wouldn't be surprised if some decedents still fought for them." (Allister)
"Dad? I hate when you guys keep switching on me!" (Denise)
Truth is... you have another bloodline Denise... But that'll have to wait until another time. (Allister)
>
> Your mom was a prodigy when it came to wielding weapons. You may not believe this Chris, but your ancestors were once warriors. There's a very high possibility that you and Julie are related, that or perhaps your ancestors were once part of the same group. During the next 6-7 years, we traveled together until I decided she was old enough to learn at the magic kingdom. (Allister)
"What is this?" (Denise)
Denise looked at her hands and was confused by the long object that was wrapped and given to her by Allister.
"Merry Christmas kid. Me and Lupe designed it to be used specifically for you. It's a demonic blade. It's a long story so don't ask how we made it." (Allister)
"That's alright. I already have a good idea!" (Denise)
She quickly ripped the rapping and was happy to see a blackish looking blade. The power her family carried was far too pure to be affected by the demonic aurora, but it didn't mean she couldn't wield it.
"Treat it with care. I infused some Runes in the scabbard in order to seal away its aurora so don't go using it recklessly. Others might be appalled but.." (Allister)
"I don't care. I'll kick their ass for talking bad about the sword my parents made for me." (Denise)
"Alright." (Allister)
"Dad, why do you only ever teach me the basics? At least mom teaches me everything when it comes to fighting." (Denise)
"Well, that's because I can't use magic. Since I decided to keep Lupe, the elders saw that as betrayal and blasphemy. So, they decided to seal my magic. In other words, I can only teach you control and the formulas to use magic." (Allister)
Allister always teased her when she called him mom and dad, even if she was only referring to Lupe as Mom. It was something she starting doing when she was younger, even if Allister told her it was necessary, she still did it.
"I know it makes her happy when I say mom." (Denise)
> Your mother was something else. I gave her the name Denise thinking, that she would hate it but... The biggest smile appeared on her face. Then again, I thought she would be afraid of me and Lupe and yet, she loved us even more. She wasn't good when it came to using a lot of magic. Her magic capacity was small but her skill with the sword was remarkable. She was a genius when it came to control. She eventually graduated the magic academy. (Allister)
"Good job kid. Your mom is proud as well." (Allister)
As Denise left the Magic hall after receiving her certificate, she was stopped by Allister. She was quite surprised since he would always be on missions.
"Dad... Mom... I thought you weren't going to make it..." (Allister)
Tears ran down Denise's face. When she first arrived, Allister gave her the option of staying at his home or at the dorms. Of course, she chose the house since it had a good area to train for any upcoming exams and the walk wasn’t to far either. During her second year, he departed for a secret trip. Unfortunately, her class were on a trip so they couldn't say goodbye to each other.
"Yea our trip was a little long. Sorry... but look at you, you're now 15 and you actually graduated a year early." (Allister)
Once they got home, Denise decided to attack him with questions.
"So, where did you guys go? Your letter said it was a top-secret mission?" (Denise)
"First things first. Change your clothes and come with me." (Allister)
They made their way to the royal magic palace which was the largest building at the center of the magic kingdom. At the bottom level was a training ground where they saw a young woman with brown hair practicing her magic while being surrounded by elders and Allister's aunt.
"What is this?" (Denise)
"Tell me, what do you think of that girl?" (Allister)
"Her? Wait... I've seen her at school a few times. She was always alone. It felt like people were always afraid of her." (Denise)
"She was probably visiting my library... Beside that, what do you sense?"
"Her magic capacity looks weak. Sort of like mine. Other than that, I can take her." (Denise)
Allister chuckled and revealed something that would leave Denise's mouth wide open.
"I figured with your family's blood and all. Her name is Sophia Vega and she's going to be the next queen." (Allister)
"What?? A new successor?" (Denise)
"Have you ever noticed anything about the current Queen?" (Allister)
"Nana? Well... she's gotten older. Wait, you don't mean?" (Denise)
"That's right, her successor has started to awaken." (Allister)
"How long has she been here? Couldn't have been that long since but then again, I only noticed when people started to gossip" (Denise)
"A few years before I found you but she attended the school a little later then you. As her power grows, the weaker my aunt gets. We try to find the new successor as soon as they are born in order to train them early but without the eyes, its practically impossible." (Allister)
"Grandma was the last one with the eyes, right? But she died. Did she not leave any hints?" (Denise)
"Afraid not, but I was able to track her thanks to a certain group. Truth is, I spied on them and used their intel to get to Sophia first. That's kind of why I was in New York. This group studies black magic and I fee they're planning something terrible. I just don't know what it is yet." (Allister)
> Eventually this groups plan succeeded, and Sophia was eventually kidnapped. During that rescue mission, she awakened and caused an event known as the great fire which flooded the sky with many colors. It ended with me regressing back to an infant and Lupe falling into a deep sleep for more than a hundred years. I don't know the details after, but your mother was made a guardian in order to protect me and eventually Sophia. A week after the catastrophe, the world ended in the year 2005. (Allister)

Years passed and Allister was able to age normally. Once his memories were back, he watched over Denise's growth. The benefit of having him alive was the knowledge and never-ending support he gave to the magic kingdom which improved their country, especially when the world was no longer the same.
"Well, how's the power?" (Allister)
"It's amazing. When I first got it, I felt unstoppable. Sadly, I can't use it to its maximum potential like the others, but I still feel like I can benefit from it if I use it like I normally do with magic in fights." (Denise)
Denise was doing her usual training of control which was meditation. By allowing herself to concentrate on a single point in her body, she could feel the flow of magic and focus on how much she needs to release or not.
"What have you learned?" (Allister)
"I thought the color blue only allowed me to use a certain element but that's not necessarily true. It helps amplify my magic. In school they taught us that we evolved from speaking a certain language to envisioning a magic circle in order to use magic but with this power it allows me to use it even more freely. It's as easy as breathing... Well, that's only because of school of course. My hair even changes shade half the time from light blue to a darker color. I can create ice or even change the temperature of fire so it turns blue." (Denise)
"Yes, well remembering symbols and the very structure can be hard. That's why most mages carry their own books with them while others only care about remembering the ones they're likely to use the most." (Allister)
> After I got older again, we formed an organization known as Vasquez duo... I mean Tres Vas... Tres Lunas? I forgot. Selena never decided on a name yet but our goal was helping to fight any threats that arose from the world ending. (Allister)
-----------------------------------------------------
"Your mom fell in love and married her rival from the academy. They ran into a soulless and your dad didn't make it, Denise eventually moved to the Lost City in order to protect the gift Sophia gave them but also investigate a certain matter for me. "
"I see. My family is from another country?" (Chris)
"Yea well, that was pretty much everyone's case. Back then, lots of people migrated here in hopes of living a better life." (Allister)
"You told me she's alive, where is she now?" (Chris)
"Don't know. She didn't tell me either, but I'll look into it. Even if I did find her, there's nothing you can do, you're not strong enough." (Allister)
"I have more magic than my mother and yet I'm terrible at it." (Chris)
"Well, you're still young and you didn't have the proper training that normal mages get. Luckily, I'm here so I can teach you control so you won't pass out in the middle of a fight." (Allister)
"Really? That would be awesome. Can you train Jorge as well?" (Chris)
"Unfortunately, I can't. He doesn't use external magic. Besides, he was raised by vampires, right? I think it would benefit him more if he learned from them." (Alliser)
"Thanks gramps. I can't wait to meet the demon my mom trusted enough to see as her own mother but why now? I'm grateful and all but this feels so sudden." (Chris)
Allister thought about what Selena said but after talking with Lisa, they decided what needed to be done.
"I know you plan on going after your friend." (Allister)
Chris felt a chill go down her spine, but she figured this conversation was bound to happen.
"Don't worry, I don't plan on stopping you. I figured this would happen so I should at least train you, so you don't die in the process. Lisa is probably already talking to Jorge." (Allister)
He wasn't wrong. Before they departed, Jorge had invited her to go look for Selena, but she already had plans with Allister. If he had decided to go alone, then chances are that Lisa probably gave him a good talking to.
"I won't get in your way, if you think you can save him than so be it, but I still have a job to do. Which is protecting our family's home. If I run into him, I'll offer this guy the option of surrendering but that will be up to him." (Allister)
After Chris and Allister went their separate way, he thought about his daughter. How she begged her parents not to reveal her whereabouts to Chris. She knew of her own daughter's character and how she would try to be a hero and come join her. The last thing she needed was more things to worry about.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1 year ago, Allister had visited a town that was just on the border between the old countries known as Mexico and the U.S. As he sipped on his alcohol, a familiar face sat right next to him.
"Dad" (Denise)
"Denise... Ahh, your hair is back normal?" (Allister)
"I passed my powers onto my daughter. I figured it would be safer with her." (Denise)
"I see. You won't be immune to time anymore." (Allister)
"Yes well, you get tired of being 25 after a few centuries and don't worry, Liz knows plans on putting the collar on her so she can continue to age." (Denise)
"And I assume you also gave up this power because of...?" (Allister)
"Your theory was right. Liz couldn't see into future clearly because of some abnormality but we have a reason to believe that Damian is alive in some way or another." (Denise)
"Then chances are...?" (Allister)
"It all makes sense. He was the original soulless. He's the only one who could have started all of this. That or the cult got to him before we wiped them out. I was hoping to meet with Uncle David, but he closed himself off from everyone else. Me and Liz also have theories on where Damien is now." (Denise)
"And there where you're going now? Then I'm coming with you." (Allister)
"Dad, you can't. It's too dangerous. Your being hunted remember? You have to go to the lost city and meet up with your brother. I assume the elders ordered you to go and kill him?" (Denise)
"Yea well I know only said that, so they'd let me leave and it seems they've keeping tabs on me through Sophie. I should have given her that orb. Wait, that beside the point! if you think..." (Allister)
Allister's word was cut short, the color of his right eye turning black gave Denise and Idea of what was happening. Lupe had intervened.
"Knowing you, you'll come back alive. You are only to observe, nothing more. You got it?" (Lupe)
"Mom..." (Denise)
"If you are ever in danger. You'll contact me, right? I'll come help in a heartbeat. Confirm your theory and come back." (Lupe)
"My daughter is in the Lost city. Her name is Christine. Look after her for me. Keep going northeast and you'll find a forest that will lead you into their kingdom. I love you guys." (Denise)
Tears ran down her eyes as she fled from the tavern. Allister couldn't talk because of Lupe but the demons paid no attention to his constant badgering as he told her to stop Denise.
"She's doing this for us. If he truly is alive, we have to kill him in order to stop all this. He espionage skills are the best, she's the only one who can find any clues to his whereabouts." (Lupe)
