"No Lisa, stop trying to change the subject, I want Liz to tell us about the history and what the world was like before the dead took it over."

"Boo! That's boring, you're just a scared-y cat Gabriel. You call yourself a "vampire" ? We are the ones who should be inflicting fear! and besides you're a book worm, go read about it."

The little girl laughs as she starts poking at the boy who in return starts to pull on her cheeks.

"Why you little.. you know we don't have books going that far back and besides, vampires aren't like they used to be and even if they were, we're not like the kind in those books that are based off dumb folklore and rampaging monsters. Liz was the only one out of us three who lived back then with dad and... mom. Humans aren't scared of us anymore and they shouldn't be."

"Ha!, says you! Human or not, they mess with me or get on my nerves? I'll give them a good beating, see if they should feel fear after that."

"That's enough you two, I have a story you both will like.. It has history and its creepy.. What do you say?"

""Fine.""

"Lets see.. hmm.. Oh I know where to begin! Before the dead roamed the earth and people like us were being hunted by some and told as stories by others, there were three brothers.. Just like us!"

"Wrong! Liz you are almost like 150 years old, I'm like 95, and Lisa is almost 50."

The older sister started to tickle Lisa. "Ahh! sister stop, its not funny."

"I heard that story before, the tales says he made a pact with that devil and started this apocalypse, is it true he ate his brothers?

"No, the brothers were cursed by the demon himself.. One turned into an undead with green eyes and white hair with his own kind following him. The oldest? he turned into a vampire like us, red eyes with black hair and the youngest was left in his human form. The curse on him is that he isn't able to die and is forced to roam the world watching his monstrous brothers bring about the apocalypse."

"Where are they now?"

"Who knows.. still roaming the world, force to face their sins."

"Lies! It was the humans. I bet... They created a diseases and it got loose! That's why people like us had to come out and bring about order!"

"No Lisa, I'm telling the truth."

Family Gatherings can be fun, beautiful if you ask me. How unfortunate that this will be the last gathering they will have together for a long time.. But like time, we must move forward. 10 years as a matter of fact. I can't wait to see the friendships they build with humans, other vampires, wizards, witches, enhanced humans, and even zombies.. oh and werewolves.. oops! my apologies I mean animal shape shifters.
