Chapter 1: Boatride

Jason stood on the deck, leaning over the edge as he watched the waves crash against the large boat. The other first-year students were whispering about him behind his back but he didn't pay attention to them. He was already prepared for it.

One of the younger teachers took notice of Jason's presence and walked over to confront him. The man was in his early 20s and had a hair full of blonde hair. His looks made him popular with the young girls who took his classes.

"Excuse me. You're a senior student, correct? You are on the wrong boat," Thomas Edwards told him. He then continued, not giving Jason a chance to say anything. "Tell me what class you are in. I will be speaking with your head professor about this."

Jason turned around and looked the teacher up and down, his face not showing any emotions. Jason pulled out a small handkerchief that had his family's coat of arms.

Professor Edwards looked at the handkerchief but didn't give it much thought. He thought that he was simply dealing with another arrogant student who thought his family would be able to cover for him.

"I don't care who your family is! This is the boat for only the first years. Now if you don't tell me the name of your head professor, I drag you straight to the headmaster when we arrive!" Prof. Edwards yelled with righteous indignation.

His voice caught the attention of several nearby students who began to look at the professor with respect, especially the commoners. They were glad to see that there was a professor who would not let the nobles use their status to do whatever they pleased.

Jason's green eyes sized up Prof. Edwards, annoyance appearing deep within his eyes but too deep for Prof. Edwards to notice. He turned around, no longer paying attention to the blonde man.

Seeing that a student was ignoring him, Prof. Edward became infuriated. He began gathering green mana in his palms, ready to teach the student a lesson for not respecting his elders. Before Edwards could make a move, he felt a hand grab his wrist.

The man looked over to see that the head of all the 1st year classes, Prof. Black was looking at him with warning in her eyes. The raven-haired beauty was only 26 but already the head professor of an entire year, showing off just how talented and wise she was.

"What are you doing?" the woman asked, her voice dripping with ice. She was visibly upset but Prof. Edwards was unsure about what.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"I was just about to punish this senior student. I asked him why he was on the ship for first years and who his head teacher was but he decided to flash his family's crest. When I told him would speak with the headmaster if he didn't tell me his class and teacher, he ignored me. Is this how a student should be behaving?" Prof. Edwards explained his side, not wanting to get on the bad side of his senior

"Did you look carefully at his crest?" the woman asked, her eyes showing her impatience

"Of course not. We don't care about one's family status here," Prof. Edwards wasn't sure what he had done wrong. He behaved just like he had been for the past 2 years as a professor.

"He is the heir of the Draco Clan," Prof. Black told him explicitly, knowing that saying anything else would fly right over the man's head.

Prof. Edwards looked confused for a moment before his eyes showed his shock. He then looked at the student who was ignoring the two professors in fear. The school didn't fear any families or clans but the entire world feared the Draco Clan. They were unreasonable and had the power to back it up. Even the emperor knew he was only the emperor because the Draco Clan allowed it.

The students watching the show also looked at the student in question with respect and fear. Everyone knew just how powerful the Draco Clan was and that they would be in the same class as the heir of it. All the nobles were determined to get on his good side while the commoners wanted to stay out of his way.

"T-Th-This has been a misunderstanding on my part, Lord Draco. I hope that you didn't take offense by anything that I said," Prof. Edwards did a complete 180, no longer holding his head up high in front of the child over 10 years younger than him.

Jason still didn't turn around or acknowledge him. He had already marked the professor down in his heart as someone he wouldn't show any respect to.

Seeing that Prof. Edwards wanted to hear that Jason had forgiven him and that the latter had no intention of doing so, Prof. Black stood up as the mediator.

"Mr. Draco. My name is Prof. Black and I will be your head of your class this year. I understand that my colleague was impolite and I will be sure to reprimand him later when there are fewer people around. Will that be fine?" Prof. Black asked in a tone that was neither servile nor overbearing.

Jason turned around and glanced at the woman. He gave a simple nod before turning back to the ocean beneath him. Seeing that he agreed, Prof. Black nodded toward Prof. Edwards and walked away, no longer paying any mind to the situation.

Noticing that neither of the two people involved was paying attention to him anymore, Prof. Edwards mumbled a few more words of half-apologies before walking away with a red face and fear in his heart. 'I can never get on his bad side again. Maybe I can go easier when grading him in my class.'

Jason continued to look at the waves crashing against the ship until he noticed something in his peripheral. The boy looked up and saw an island in the distance as well as several beasts flying around it. And at the very center of the island, was where Jason would spend the next few years in school.

'Everyone, I have arrived and I have yet to act out. Hopefully, I can last for the rest of the semester.'
