Warble Warble

Ben came back with the new affinity testing orb.

As soon it got in the room it emitted a loud screeching sound.

Ben dropped the orb and covered his ears, along with everyone else in the room.

The orb landed on the ground and began to roll away from Gary.

Once it made it to the door the old creepy elder, now mayor, picked it up silencing its screeching.

"Hmm" hmmed the mayor.

"Mayor Wilson!" said the man saluting. The guards saluted as well.

It's a good thing the man said the creepy old elder's name, as Gary never bothered remembering it. Gary belatedly saluted the mayor.

The mayor Wilson glared at Gary, and slowly walked towards him with the orb in his hand.

The orb made no movement, or noise.

As soon as the mayor pressed the onto Gary's skin it disintegrated into dust.

"Interesting." exclaimed the creepy old mayor.

The mayor looked at Gary like he was some sort of rare animal, or expensive jewel.

"Gary was it? How do you feel about performing a little experiment for me, and walking out of here with free mana stones." declared the creepy old Mayor.

Ben, and the other guard flanked Gary.

"Ah ha ha, sure"says Gary.

Gary was led into an underground chamber.

It was a large circular room. In the center, a pearl floated over a pedestal. The pedestal was covered by a blue shimmering runic barrier.

"Touch it." Ordered the creepy old man.

Gary walked up it, and felt the strict and orderly mana turn wild and aggressive. As his hand reached for the barrier, the chamber started to shake violently.

A warbling sound could be heard.

What? Yes, like warble warble you know? Stop interrupting.

Everything was a blurr. Gary couldn't tell up from down. He looked somewhere and saw a massive pair of eyes radiating desire.

"Divine Mercies! What the fuck is that?" Screamed the beige dot in its mind.

Reality shifted back into place.

Gary found himself lying on the ground charred, and toasty.

The dot had once again saved Gary's little life.

The dot was not happy. It was hoping to lie low on Gary long enough to reform its body. To do this it needed Gary's body, and soul, as a catalyst. So of course it had to keep Gary safe. Unfortunately Gary was remarkably adept at dying horrible deaths, and gathering the attention of abominations. The dot wasn't sure if it could survive another body transfer. It had already been lucky enough to find someone as flimsy, and weak-willed as Gary once.
