In retaliation for the attack on them, and their daemoness, the Green-frogs-on-a-Liiypad forest bandit secret camp began attacking royal caravans. This greatly angered Talesser who sent a small army of fleshbeasts, Disgusting multi-limbed, many-mouthed horrors, after them,
Koba had escaped separately. The assassination had gone well. The actual killing had been performed by Caleb, while Koba broke into the noble's room. His room’s energy could only be described as an “unhealthy obsession with daemons, and Angela specifically.” On a pedestal, under a glass cover, covered in a complex runic protection array, sat the knife. Koba waited for the moment he heard a thunderstorm, chaos, and screaming in order to break open the glass, and run. The runic defenses would kill anyone below wizard, but Koba was Koba.
Caleb had grown stronger from his previous experiences. He had broken through his bottleneck, and reached the Unleashed realm. He easily dealt with the monstrosities alongside the bandits. If he had been in any real trouble Gary would have intervened.
Eventually Gary ordered Caleb to join him. Gary had been accumulating a ”secret” army of mercenaries, cultivators, and peasants. They had yet to do much of anything, but they were getting to be big enough to be a problem to the mage-king now. He had only just become aware of them, but with the bandits acting up, he didn't want any trouble. Gary felt that now was the time to strike, and take over.
Gary’s mob wanted blood. They had taken the tyranny of their tormentors for far too long. Gary had become famous in the local villages for his charity, and his mob was joined by more and more people. They were marching in a straight line towards Gilmour, the capital. They intended to confront the mage-king and force him to step down peacefully. Of course, Gary knew he would have to resort to violence. His opponent was a fellow mage, and while a massive crowd of people could find some way to rip a single mage limb from limb, it took fewer casualties to send another mage after them.

The mage-kings rarely fought their own battles. Relying on armies, and constructs to do their fighting. Occasionally, a rogue mage like Gary would appear and overthrow someone's kingdom. This was generally seen as a good opportunity for others to take land from the weakened mage-king, and for cultivators within the kingdom to seek independence. All mage-kings forcefully kept their prominent cultivator's cultivation sealed below the True Self stage. They saw other wizards as threats to their life. Many thought that Gary's insurrection into Talesser's Mage Kingdom was just another instance of this, and would allow some of them a few opportunities to expand.
Gary's mob arrived outside the walls of the capitol. The lord's mage-tower could be seen in the center of the city. In front of Gary's mob, a large army was gathered. There were fleshbeasts, dragonhounds, and an ancient golem. Likely the reason why this small mage kingdom had been at peace for so long. There were also many human soldiers. Likely conscripts. Gary ordered his mob to charge in, and for Caleb’s squad of cultivators to flank them, and avoid being surrounded.
The mage king likely could have simply let the rebel army siege the city, as it was very well stocked, and defended. However he assumed that the threat wasn’t great enough to hide from. Gary flew off from the mob, and began flying towards the Golem. He wanted to take it out before it could cause significant damage. He was going to regret not being able to keep it, but it was too dangerous at the moment to keep active. Gary turned into a streak of multicolored light and charged at the Golem. It’s exposed Core lit up, and shot a laser perfectly at Gary.
Gary teleported away at the last second, and then he teleported again, and again, and again. Each time narrowly avoiding a deadly laser. He wondered why this mage kingdom was so small with such a deadly golem. He put the thought out of his mind, and teleported in front of the core. He stabbed it, shattering it, and teleported away.
He watches as the golem falls onto the enemy's army, sowing chaos. The tide now turns, and his mob begins pushing back the mage king's forces. Gary flies off in the direction of the mage king’s tower
The tower was shooting various elemental bolts at a multi-colored streak. The streak kept dodging, and occasionally teleporting before breaking through the barrier in an instant. The streak flew up the side of the tower all the way to the top. It broke through a window, and Gary appeared in front of an old wizard staring at a magical map.
“HA!” Gary laughs out loud. “I overestimated this ENTIRE scenario.”
“What how did you-” Talesser, a tall skinny nerd, tried to speak before having his head was cut off. Congratulations Gary! You've now got your hands on a brand *new* mage kingdom! Hurray for Gary!
