Battle Bottle

As Gary snuck around, he realized that there was a lot of noise around him. The fortress is having a festival. There closer to the large tower Gary got the louder the festivities were. This was good, as it would be easier to sneak through a crowd of drunken strangers, than fully aware guards. Gary wondered if the guards on the wall would also get to enjoy things, but then thought that it didn't matter to him.

There were too many bright lights popping up for Gary to effectively sneak around. He'd ducked into someone's home, and gone through their closet in order to find the orange, and black clan uniform of the hyena clan. He couldn't think of a reason to give for hiding his face, so decided to risk being recognized as an unknown disciple. He went out and made his way towards the sounds of music, and partying.

He entered an area filled with people, market stalls, games, and even a makeshift stage. Someone handed him a bottle of unknown liquor. It seemed to him that he would have no trouble sneaking past them. There were hundreds of people around the stage waiting for something. Two men grabbed Gary.

"Wait what did I do?" Gary yelped.

"You're holding a battle bottle aren't you?" One of them said.

"A what?" Gary tensed.

"Means you gotta get drunk and fight in the tournament." replied the other

"Shit" Gary hissed.

Gary, along with the other contestants, was sat down stuffed full of alcohol, and given a number. The tournament was extremely entertaining to the audience. None of the contestants could stand straight, many swung wildly and tripped off the stage, and others simply passed out in the middle of throwing a swing. Gary barely managed to keep himself from blacking out, and used his speed to knock over most of the other contestants. He'd Tripped and fallen with them a few times, but eventually he won the contest. The situation had been a blur, and the bottle he'd been handed was a 100 year soul-cleansing wine, said to enrich the soul and remove any of its impurities. At this point Gary was not sober enough to be aware that he had it.

Gary came later in the night hugging the bottle in an alleyway. He was surprised to find that no one had taken his purse, or weapons. The stone was vibrating harder. Gary used it to find that he did indeed have to enter the tower. He didn't know what to do with the wine in his hand. He decided that it might be useful to him later so he hid it away in a trashcan. He made sure his surroundings were empty and climbed up to an empty window of the tower.

Inside he found that it seemed to be a massive library. All kinds of books and methods seemed to be here, but likely none that would be useful to him. Any good methods would be hidden away. He knew that the secret art he was looking for was underground so he made his way down the stairs. So far he'd only seen a few disciples still inside reading. Or taking care of the books. The festival had truly been a fortunate event.

He'd made it to the ground floor, and saw that the tower had a basement. However, access was reserved for librarians only, and required a key. There was only one librarian at the desk and the guard was sound asleep. Gary went up to him.

"Hey uuh I saw someone upstairs tearing pages out of a book." Gary said

"What!? Where? Take me there." She yelped, almost waking the guard. She stood up and stepped out from her desk.

"Yep right this way." Gary said, as he used his speed to get behind her, and knock her out. He placed her head down on the desk, and took her key.

He opened the basement door, and headed down. He found that this was a large warehouse filled with old worn out books. A disciple was sitting at a desk copying the words, and drawings into new manuals. He looked up, and saw Gary.

"Wait who are you?" he asked, before a bolt went through his eye. He fell face first into the manuals ruining the copies, and the originals further. Gary felt a little bad at killing him, but he wasn't that good of a talker. The stone eventually lead him onto a conspicuous slab that was different from the rest of the floor.

He placed the stone on the slab, and found that by some mechanism it opened. Inside there was nothing. The compartment inside the slab had a large hole on the side with dirt coming in. It seems that the hyena clan simply dug around the mechanism. Gary thought it was ridiculous that the dragonfly clan thought it would still be here. Actually he thought that maybe this secret art would be better hidden. Now he would have to find wherever secret arts are kept in this tower, and break in there. He was considering giving up, and joining the Straw-hats. Still he wanted the secret art just as badly as the clan likely did.
