Gary opened his eyes to find himself holding the amulet to his face. The amulet seemed dormant now.
Gary began to inspect the amulet. He wasn’t an appraiser or anything, but from what he could see this artifact was the coward’s legacy.
"Hey, bossman! Yeh, this amulet lets you come back from the dead if you gather enough dead dudes." Orange Daemon Dude was currently a floating bubble of Goo near Gary's head.
"Woah! Scared me. Uuh, where's everyone?" Gary looked around the grey, empty tomb.
"Still stuck in the amulet, bossmanz! U gotz to get stronger bro! Gotta go do a whole training arc. Get big and strong like me!" Daemon Dude vibrated.
Gary furrowed his eyebrows. "I reached my full potential, and exceeded it. I don't think I can do that."
Daemon Dude's bubble grew eyes, and gave Gary an 'are you serious' look. His eyes vanished. Daemon dude said nothing else.
Gary now has a new problem. It would seem that this tomb does not have a clearly marked way out, and he didn’t know how far down into the moon he was.
Gary did not currently have access to spells related to digging. A shortcoming that he now decided he would have to find a way to deal with.
For now he would have to dig.
Months? Years? Later a hand broke through the surface of the moon, and behind that hand a man! This man was Gary. A lot dirtier, and hairier than he was before.
He was back to his old hobo look. He really needed a shower, a haircut, a warm bed, and anything other than the rations in his spatial ring.
Whilst Gary was being crowned 'The Guy' the international community on Helena began to take proper reactions towards Gary. Initially they had been content to watch, but not anymore.
Gary did not announce his departure, but his absence was notable. When Gary was around, the Garyocracy was in a constant state of transition, and oppression. The people were kept in a permanent reactive state.
Gary's absence allowed the people enough dead-time to think. As we all know, too much thinkin' leads to trouble.

The Tersids gathered a small Anti-Gary Coalition(specifically, after a tiny, tiny group, like 2 duke-claimants, and the remaining minor nobles. None of them had titles anymore, but the wounds were fresh, and they had the support of the planet's Magoristocrats.)
The Tersids were an unlikely choice for coalition leader, but since they are being immediately threatened by Gary, and having the only troops that are an actual threat to magi, they were the only choice.
Gary being some random, alien, catfolk did not help the situation. Helena was primarily filled with humans. There were others, but they were a minority, and few had independent nations.
The coalition came up with a plan. Since they couldn't deal with Gary individually, they wouldn't. instead Gary would be fought primarily by the two most powerful cultivators on the planet.
Many favors are to be granted for this, but the hope is a draw of some kind. Gary seems deadly, but quite swattable, if he can be caught. catch him they will!
On top of the threat that is Gary, there's the now rising threat of democratic revolutions. Gary had given the people a taste of it, and they wanted much, much more. Radicals quickly gravitated towards learning lessons from Gary.
Most lessons revolved on not being evil, like Gary, but helping each other, and valuing each other instead. They would use Gary's methods to do this, as the Mageocracies clearly sucked.
The Spread of these democratic ideas put some serious fire under the bellies of the Magi.
It would take quite a few months to gather all of the troops together. They needed to strike fast, and only with their best.
Back in Gilmour, now Garymour, the atmosphere was tense. Things had returned to 'normalcy.' Gary's policies were actually ok, mostly revolving around industrializing asap, at huge cost.
Things were improving rapidly. The people weren't too happy with that. They were happy about the improvements, but they had to lose a few neighbors to get there.
A fancy restaurant, Talesser's Former Favorite, was somewhat busy today. Most of the tables had been reserved. Most were empty.
In the center of the dining area there was a small table for two. Caleb, and Koba ate as they whispered to each other.
The waitress, a short, curly haired girl, refilled their waters. She made sure to look, but not look, and memorize all details about them.
Koba watched her as she walked away. "I think we might be compromised."
"What do you mean?" Caleb looked at the waitress.
Koba drank from his water. "Doesn't matter. Even if they stop us, things have already gotten to this point."
Caleb looked back at Koba with a worried expression. "I hope you're right." He looked around anxiously. "Do you know where Cara is? I sent her a telepathic message, but she hasn't replied, or left the training room.
Koba shook his head. "If you're worried, why not astral project, and check."
"I cant do that. I changed my method to get stronger." Caleb gained a slight headache, as he remembered bashing his body. against Gary's runic defenses, to no effect. "I think something's wrong"
Koba gave him a half-smile, and sighed. "We'll see her soon."
The two finished eating, and ordered dessert. After they finished, they finished discussing their plan to ambush Gary when he returns.
Koba intends to activate Gary's mania early, and use it against him. Hopefully, he surrenders. If not, oh well he would hand the kingdom over to Caleb, and leave. Their only problem now is the Security Chief, Angela.
She was claiming more, and more authority for herself. Since Gary left, she's been acting like the boss, and enforcing her will.
She still enforced Gary's orders, but the Garyocracy was now littered with monuments to Angela, and some to Gary.
When Caleb, and Koba were done talking, a dark runic green-suit Geco Officer approached their table. He had a runic sword on him, and was only slightly weaker than Caleb. "Come with me."
Caleb, and Koba looked at each other. They could kill him, but there were likely others, and the fancy gear was enough for the officer to be threatening. They did not resist as they were arrested, and dragged off.
This was part of the plan.
