AS SOON AS FENG MIAN left her car and into the main building, she was welcomed by the sight of Thea Mae.

"Feng Mian, ah! Why did you come so early? C-couldn't you have called me first...?" Thea Mae was still bewildered as Feng Mian was able to get through the pensive wall of reporters outside.

She had wanted to stall for time before her father becomes available, so Feng Mian will have come for naught. Alas, they had failed and Feng Mian came just in time when her father was just finished with his morning meeting.

Feng Mian gave a curt bow to Thea Mae, a slight smile on her lips. "How can I let the father of such a fine lady such as you... late? I hope you've had a very good morning, Ms Matheus."

Feng Mian's last sentence was meant to be sarcastic, but it was questionable if Thea Mae sensed it for she immediately felt nervous after Feng Mian's first few words. Her heart went aflutter, for she does not meet handsome smooth-talkers very often. And Feng Mian's elegance also subconsciously attracted her eyes, even if she had tried hard to deny so.

Thea Mae fangirled for a moment, while half of her was reprimanding herself for being disloyal to Mo Chou Huang, the self-proclaimed love of her life. She bit her lower lip as her cheeks were tinged pink. She had the perfect look of a blooming flower, but quite obviously, Feng Mian does not care a wit.

After waiting for Thea Mae to calm down, Feng Mian then said, "We can meet up in an hour to wherever you wish. I shall formally introduced myself to your father for now. Adieu."

Feng Mian gave another curt bow before dismissing herself, no longer interested with a girl like Thea Mae who seemed virtuous and beautiful inside and out, but apparently indecisive once offered another good choice upfront. Such people was not worth her time.

Before Thea Mae could obstruct and delay Feng Mian further, the latter was already gone as her legs were long despite appearing to be walking leisurely. A mere 10 seconds passed and Feng Mian already inquired the Front-Desk personnel to tell her which floor does the CEO reside.

Filled with a belly full of grievances, Thea Mae stomped her feet as her hands dialed Ying Yue's private number. Once the line connected, she immediately cried her grievances. "Yue! Your older brother's a huge block of wood! You asked me to take him out and reassured me it will all according to your plan, but he's gone! GONE! Already about to meet my father!" She huffed before she continued speaking.

"What do you plan to do now? Do I really have to go on a date with him?!" She was feeling angry now, because what if a scandal was spread between her and the Young Master Zhao, Mo Chou Huang might misunderstand!

Ying Yue's calm and pleasant voice then replied on the other side of the line, "I really, really am sorry Thea Mae, but I didn't think he could manage to think of a way around the reporters. After all, even the constables cannot just arrest them as journalist usually have their permit to be excused of such--"

"I don't want your excuses! You tell me right now how I should back down to this!"

Ying Yue sighed. "How about this. You lead him to the next plan after meeting your father as I've already confirmed the situation on that end. After that, you can meet Chou at the usual place."

"REALLY?! You promised me!" Thea Mae immediately ended the call, almost unable to contain her excitement. Thinking she needed to touch up her make-up, she hastened into the ladies' restroom like a rabid dog was chasing on her heel.

In the 67th floor of Creative Studious, the CEO's secretary was surprised to finally meet the infamous Young Master Zhao whose bad rumors had spread all over D City.

Almost everyone in the Entertainment business would gossip about this young master in their own private ways. One rumor said that when the pitiful youngest Zhao daughter joined the big family, he had threatened their father and refused consent to marrying a mistress as the second wife. Alas, he had no real power over family matters.

Luyang Zhao, as if to show his authority did just what Feng Mian hated the most. Marrying the mistress and making the youngest daughter eligible for CEO at the right time.

Obviously, if time would allow it, Feng Mian would no longer stand a chance for Horizon Line Inc's presidency, for Luyang Zhao blatantly showed it to the world that Ying Yue Zhao was someone he cared for the most. His business associates, some disagreeing to this disrespectful act could say nothing else because a professional connection with the Zhao family was better than acting like some hero.

Vicious rumors spiraled like hellfire in the recent years. A certain middle-class family claimed that Feng Mian had sexually violated their daughter while he was dragged into a drinking party one night. Another rumor also said that he has had illegal dealings with Drug Dealers in Mexico, or that his close friends were all members of a certain evil syndicate.

With all these humorless rumors around, it would be hard for many people to believe that someone as unruly, incapable and arrogant as Feng Mian would be any good to head the prestigious Zhao family.

However, before this secretary was a Feng Mian whose looks could only be described as divine, if not akin to gods. The charisma and confidence overflowed, and the secretary found himself drooling at the sight despite their same gender. He shook his head to snap out of his stupor and immediately moved out of his desk to welcome Feng Mian whose frosty eyes already laid upon him, causing shivers up his spine.

"G-good day, Young Master Feng Mian Zhao. Are you here for an appointment with President Matheus?" He almost knocked himself in the head for his stupidity. How else could Feng Mian come in the most private 67th floor if not for an official appointment?! "I-if you will, please follow me..."

He struggled to calm himself down after his dubious mistake, leading the way to the CEO's office. Feng Mian followed after him quietly, disinterest to the secretary as she shifted her eyes around the interior decoration.

The walls were lined up with certificates and framed canvases of memorable moments since the founding of Creative Studious. A great many of their artists had won the Oscar's.

Feng Mian was so quiet that the secretary felt intimidated as his oversensitive nerves made him believe that the tension had gone up so high, cold sweat dripped down his forehead. He could not wait to reach the office that was a mere dozens of feet far, but felt more like a day to reach.

For reasons unknown to him, Feng Mian's charisma enabled him to stand above others. But as to why this was so effective was unbeknownst to him at all. He thought a bit more and likened the intimidating feeling to meeting a person with so much wisdom and experience, as if they were several years apart that he could only be perceived as a child under Feng Mian's beautiful frost-cold eyes.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

He shrugged this preposterous thought, for obviously, he was 20 years older than Feng Mian. His stride sped up a notch, impatient to dumb the scary Feng Mian to his own employer to deal with. Since they begun their walk, he could feel a strong gaze from behind.

In reality, Feng Mian merely became so engrossed at looking at the artful designs that decorated the rest of the offices on both sides. The offices were merely separated by glass panes, enabling those walking in the hall to see what was happening in each room.

Pseudo plants decorated short wall dividers, side tables and corners. These gave a comfortable homey ambiance to an otherwise huge corporation, able to crush many other production company. Feng Mian's thoughts wondered for a moment to a seemingly innocent white rabbit wielding a Level 99 Carrot Stick, smashing it like it weighed nothing upon the incoming vicious-looking wolves whose sharp eyes were filled with hunger and the longing to bite the delicate meat before them.

Of course, when this seemingly harmless Carrot Stick barely lands on any of the pack of wolves, they would be pummeled to death. After all, the innocent white rabbit had the strength, just not the appearance, taking their opponents astray.

It seems the President of Creative Studious was not that simple despite his inexperienced children. Feng Mian decided to latch onto this opportunity with everything she's got.

"...Even if she offers herself, you must refuse! Don't let the Union find any dirt on us, stir away from trouble would you please, Harvey??"

After his call, a knock on the door was heard. "Come in." He grunted, looking down on several files concerning the latest movie productions.

Once the secretary came inside, a relieved sigh escaped his lips. He adjusted his eyeglasses on his nose bridge and politely informed. "President Matheus, Young Master Zhao of Horizon Line Inc is here."

Enricko Matheus lifted his head up from his work, narrowed his eyes on Feng Mian and slowly uttered, "Secretary Every, you may leave, close the door behind you."

Every followed his employer's words to the letter, completely happy of his dismissal from the room. He didn't want to feel suffocated by the pressure.

As soon as the office door clicked to a close, Enricko begun, "Take a seat, please, Young Master Zhao. I'd heard of you from my daughter. What did you wish to speak to me for?"

Feng Mian's brows twitched minutely at the address Enricko called him. Mentally, he found himself feeling ridiculed every time he was called Young Master, even moreso by one of the leading figures of Entertainment Industry. But as soon as the pensiveness arose in her chest, she dismissed the thought.

She leisurely took the seat before Enricko's huge office desk, her eyes discreetly darting on the files under his joined hands. Once seated, she begun to say, "Are you aware of my younger sister's growing adoration to your son, Mr Enricko Matheus?"

Enricko was taken aback for a moment at the nonchalant attitude Feng Mian was displaying in front of him. Many thoughts swirled in his head of how could such a young person act so brazen in front of someone much powerful than she. But these thought processes merely lasted for a couple of seconds before he replied.

"Should it matter to me, Young Master Zhao?"

Feng Mian finally confirmed. Enricko's completely looking down on him, especially so with the first subject of discussion. Adding to the vicious rumors of him, talking about other people's romance was not a very good first impression.

However, Feng Mian merely shrugged all these concerns and proceeded with her agenda for her visit. "Please ask your son what he thinks of my beloved young sister. As the oldest family from the main branch at the moment, I permit your son to marry my sister."

Enricko was once again shocked at Feng Mian's straightforwardness. He had thought the young master had come to dissuade his son, Iker Matheus, from pursuing Ying Yue so that Feng Mian can defend the current stalemate in Horizon Line Inc.

Everyone would have thought so, until he heard from Feng Mian himself. "Why are you asking me this? If Iker becomes engaged with Ying Yue, you'll have even less chances of gaining the CEO position from your Uncle. Do you intend to give away your grandfather's inheritance that should be rightfully yours?" Enricko was perked now. He did not expect Feng Mian was unpredictable.

Feng Mian shrugged, slowly turning her gaze outside the glass pane. The whole of D City's business district stretched before her frost-hued eyes, reflecting a tinge of tangerine from the bright sun.

She slowly said, "I just want to make it up to her. After all, I caused her father to land in prison."

This simple statement was almost unbelievable to Enricko's ears. Even for himself who never bothered about other people's situations knew how bad Feng Mian and Ying Yue's relationship was. Every time there was a formal party, Feng Mian would attempt to embarrass Ying Yue for being a bastard child.

And despite having the right to dis Ying Yue, it didn't look good to other people as well, for both children to antagonize one another in public. But that only made people believe that Feng Mian truly hated Ying Yue and her mother to the bone.

Enricko was thoughtful. "So you are giving up the presidency for Horizon Line Inc?"

"Yes."

After confirming as such, Enricko felt happy as well. It was far more beneficial for him to politically connect with the Zhao's to their production company. He also knew his daughter couldn't be anything else to the Young Master Zhao as she has been infatuated with the Young Master of Huang Entertainment.

Confirming the idea over and over in his head, Enricko gave a grunt response. "Alright. I'll talk to my son and have the engagement arrange this month. I'll send you an invitation as well, since you personally came to make your sister's life better."

Enricko was confident that his son could provide Ying Yue happiness, because they have the riches and reputation. And these were the things Ying Yue needed the most to become even more pronounced with her candidacy for CEO position once she reaches 18 years of age, which is still a long while to go. But there was also no need to get married so soon.

It was a win-win deal, so he completely disregarded whatever else Feng Mian thought behind her back. "Is there anything else, Young Master Zhao?"

"I want to be an executive to your company."

At this, Enricko was speechless. After their talk of family ties, of course he'd accept Feng Mian, as long as she had the money to be one. "Sure, whatever you say. Do you have a movie in mind already?"

"Yes."

"Do you have it with you, or ..."

"It's one of the files on your desk. 'The Snowy Highlands'."

"Why this film specifically?" Enricko was indeed eager to know, as he had almost deemed the project impossible.

"Let's see." She raised a finger. "One, the script is available. Two, the plot is a subject of interest. Three, it will sell higher if you can manage to have it show on Foxxy Vee."

Enricko creased his brows, his throat felt dry and his nerves grew tight. "I can understand the first two, but how are you sure we'd get bigger returns if we authorize Foxxy Vee to present the movie?"

"Mr Enricko Matheus. Do you even review the news? Study articles? And analyze the market?" Enricko had thought of answers and was about to reply when Feng Mian spoke once again. "Last weekend, there was a leak from insiders that they were in need of a movie much like the The Snowy Highlands, to present it to the North. The movie itself is good enough to caker the northern viewers' interest, which would in turn give us the chance to introduce our names to the North, especially so when Foxxy Vee will receive higher ratings."

Enricko was still confused and hesitant. It was a serious business dealing with Foxxy Vee as not only will it be an expensive partnership, but also risky. He did not agree with Feng Mian over choosing The Snowy Highlands, he was not confident that it would only be perceived as something foreign, which would hurt their reputation as a production company.

"Have you read the script yourself, Mr Enricko Matheus?"

He looked down on the files on his desk, and after thinking for a moment, he shook his head.

"Then read it for a moment. I'll remain seated here until you finish."

There was no arguing with the tone of Feng Mian's voice, and Enricko found himself bringing up the file atop everything else. As for why he was even listening to someone as young as Feng Mian, only his grandmother in heaven knows.

After two hours, Enricko looked like he was about to tear up after closing the script for The Snowy Highlands. He discreetly composed himself despite how emotional he was feeling at the moment, but still, his voice cracked when he spoke. "H-how did you know it was this powerful to elicit something from me, when you haven't even read the script yourself?"

"Do you really want to know?" Feng Mian was not looking at Enricko at all, and rested her gaze upon her clasped hands atop her crossed knees.

Enricko was slightly disgruntled. "Would I have asked if I didn't want to?" He was aware his CEO-intimidating image was gone ever since he begun to immerse himself in the world of The Snowy Highlands.

"Alright then. Because..." Enricko almost flipped his desk when Feng Mian stretched her answer. That was until he heard the continuation.

"... I wrote the script myself."

Enricko almost had a heart attack.
