The vortex spit the group out in front of an old cathedral resting atop a hill that was in the center of a small village of cottages. Cerin pushed open the door to the cathedral and the four of them crossed the threshold. Despite its outward dilapidated appearance the interior of the cathedral was a technological marvel. Giant screens lined the walls and blinking beeping consuls sat underneath. In the middle of the room were a series of large desks littered with microscopes and beakers filled with different liquids. Sahn marveled at all the equipment even though he had no idea what any of it was. Pandora noticed him lagging behind and grabbed his arm to hurry him forward. "Hey keep up. I know you volunteered to come with us but you are still technically our prisoner." She reminded him. Sahn ignored her words but nodded anyway as he followed her into a room near the back of the building. The room kept the old stone aesthetic of the outside of the cathedral. This room had bookshelves lining the walls and toward the back of the room was a desk with an older woman wearing a white lab coat sitting behind it. "High Priestess." Pandora and the others greeted and kneeled down. Sahn remained standing. He and the older woman stared into each others eyes fiercely. The room's atmosphere immediately became tense. It took all of Sahn's willpower not to challenge this woman to a fight, instead he smiled and introduced himself. "Sahn Juber, nice to meet you." The tension melted away when the woman smiled. She stood from her desk and walked up to Sahn. "High Priestess Mora, it's a pleasure to meet you Sahn." She greeted. "Cerin, who is this man you brought in front of me?" She asked without taking her eyes off Sahn. Cerin swallowed hard. "Well Pandora suggested that you meet him." The tension exploded back into the room. "Were you not the leader of this mission?" Mora asked, still smiling at Sahn. "Y-yes I was." Cerin stuttered. "Then I'll ask you again. Who is this man you've brought in front of me?" Pandora nudged him with her elbow to urge him to answer. "Well...you see when we arrived at the point of the anomaly he was there. And when we interrogated him about who he was he said he was looking for some magic rings. So when we attempted to apprehend him he ran off. And after we gave chase we convinced him to come back here." Cerin explained. Mora glared over her shoulder at Cerin. "I didn't ask for a mission report, I asked who this man was." Cerin swallowed hard again. "Well ma'am I don't know." He replied. "And yet you still saw fit to bring him back to our base of operations?" Cerin had no answer. Mora sighed. "Cerin, Cortnae, you're dismissed." The two of them stood up and quickly left the room. Mora turned and looked down at Pandora. "Stand up girl." She ordered. Pandora obeyed. Mora walked up to her and brushed Pandora's hair out of her face. "How many times have I told you not to be so reckless?" Mora asked her before yanking the heart string from her chest. "Sorry mother I was...impulsive." Mora turned back to Sahn and pulled the string from him as well. "Mother, I believe Cerin thought that just in case Sahn is the one from the prophecy It would be better if we brought him here so he didn't object when I suggested it. Plus I had the heart string I knew his intentions were pure." Pandora explained. Mora listened but didn't reply, she just went back to staring at Sahn. "So tell me of these doors Sahn." Mora finally asked. "Where I come from there is this tower and there are these twelve rings that float around the top of it and those rings are doors to other worlds. The door my friend went through was destroyed so I figured if I traveled to a different world and used that worlds door I could get my friend back." Mora sat back down behind her desk. "I don't know of any ring doors. Are you sure they exist here?" She asked. Sahn shrugged his shoulders. "The keeper of the tower in my world thought they might, and I thought it was worth trying." "And if they didn't how did you plan on getting back to your world?" Mora asked. "I hadn't thought that far ahead." Sahn answered with a smile. Pandora's face was in disbelief and all Mora could do was laugh. "Well Sahn if you don't mind I'd like to keep you here for the time being and I'll see what I can learn about these doors. How's that sound?" Before Sahn could answer, a young man burst through the office door. "High Priestess, it's finally showed itself!" "Finally." Mora answered as she quickly followed the young man to the operations room with Pandora and Sahn in tow. Displayed on the screen was an ape-like ogre hurling lightning bolts indiscriminately at buildings in a small town. "What is that?" Sahn asked, but nobody answered. "Pandora, take Cortnae and Babasha and go! We don't know when we'll get another chance!" Mora ordered. "At once High Priestess." Pandora replied and she left the room. "What is that thing?" Sahn asked again. "It's a Heathen God. It laid waste to a whole nation and it needs to be stopped." Mora answered. "Its that strong?" Sahn asked, captivated by the destruction on the screen. "Yes." Mora replied. "I'm gonna tag along." Sahn suggested. "Absolutely not. We can't have you out in the world until we can confirm you are not a threat." Mora stated. Sahn's eyes were no longer on the screen; instead he watched Pandora and the other priests jump through another vortex. Sahn saw his chance and took it by using his speed to jump into the vortex before it closed.
