Encountering With Fear

Encountering With Fear

From the moment the black knight saw the rising of the gas, he got into a different state of disturbance. As if he had seen the gas before, he made hasty movements to escape from it immediately.

And he called out to me with a tense voice tone,

"Try not to inhale the gas in any way! Otherwise, our internal organs will be rotten in seconds!"

I immediately closed my nose and mouth, covering it with my hand, and kept myself close to him.

Together we stood in the corner of the room that had not yet received a lot of gas, and tried to take the gas away from ourselves as much as possible. Something to cut that flow, was the thing we sought, even every single side of us was covered with bombs that were made in a different way.

But yet, another thing that was indecent, was that we still did not get a sight of the person who threw these bombs at us.

That person was hiding in the shadows, watching us.

Carefully, for every single moment that passed by.

*But, what if...*

Not so much time left, my inner voice became a diversion for the thing in front of me. While we were waiting for something daunting to happen, slow steps continued to move around slowly. But this time, it was coming in our way, coming closer than we thought.

And finally, the steps approaching us appeared next to us. By virtue of the smoke, we couldn't see around us, but we fully felt that he or she was with us. And could easily watch us in the smoke.

That person just had a calmness on the spot that took advantage of our fear.

We were trapped like bunnies, that had been baited by their prey.

By a quiet and mysterious living being.

Then afresh, the person talked with a voice that I have never heard before,

"You came here knowing that death is the punishment for what you did. Besides, just stepping into deadly traps without any revising plan. Don't you understand the inaccuracy in what you're doing? Don't you know it's wrong?"

It was a woman's voice. To the tune it had, and the way she said words, she wasn't just a normal person. She had a sharp smoothness to her voice. Just like the poisonous gas, her voice was soft but deadly.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Shiver full.

I wasn't sure enough to talk back to her, but the Knight did.

"At least not like you. Aint I correct?"

And before she replied, he added,

"You've been hiding from the shadows and hurting people since the beginning of the war. You took our and many other people's lives, and even your own men that have been relentlessly creating a path towards your evil goal. To survive, because of the losses they have caused. And for what purpose are you implementing this?"

"It is a thing that is necessary for us to accomplish some things. It is actually a two-sided sword, but you can't understand it anyway."

"Even if it saves you in its own way, you are destroying your innocence by spending the lives of the men you have and the goals it has earned you in a very wild and savage way."

"This is still not a reason for us to cut our actions halfway. Especially for someone who acts because of people's death."

"How do you.."

She then stopped for a second, and something with a more haughty voice tone.

"You're that knight at the castle, aren't you? Hmmm, interesting enough. Is it because you did come here to avenge your friends?"

"Do not even think about taking their names into your filthy mouth. You have no permission nor the nobility to do it. You and that Epic is disgust to me!"

"Likewise. You are not one to explain to me what nobility is. After all, against the Epic, your fear will cover you. It will demolish you alive before you even realize it. Because you are not some special person. Just an ordinary kingdom dog, that barks before its death."

"Shut your mouth."

She started messing with the Knight's head and started teasing him with his wide opened and freshly scars.

"How are you going to survive with all these armies taking people's lives one by one?"

She was hitting from all of the spots that she could hit, and drop him to his knees mentally.

"How are you going to save your own life?"

And this went on.

"I have no doubt."

The Knight knew that we were in much of a worse situation than them. But he still went on with her talking.

But just then, she added with wide-opened eyes,

"Even your friends lasted seconds..."

Those few words, made the knight so angry, he was almost driven mad.

"I have no fear nor hesitation about moving forward!" He shouted with pieces of misfortune and anger in his voice.

And with furious eyes, he talked in a growling way,

"The efforts of my companions, of my actual friends, are something you can not acknowledge. The things they left behind, the courage they had while giving their lives, and all the things they have accomplished with effort, are phenomenal. It is something that I can never go on without carrying it."

He then pointed his sword at the air and added,

"And so on, I will take the epic's head just like yours when I'm finished."

"Oh, so you are going to. But let me ask you, how are you going to take mine?" She said while tilting her head sideways and pointing her chin.

"You are wise enough to know that I will come to take revenge, but you are blind enough not to know that I will not come unprepared. So this is the special present I have prepared for you."

The elite soldier understood the words of the knight verbatim. However, neither did I know what he was going to do, nor did she know it as I did. But moments passed, until the knight took out two masks from his bag around his waist, I understood what he had intended from the very beginning.
