I was about to call out to Miles, but he turned and they walked in opposite directions. I prayed things weren’t ruined.
I turned and Evelyn noticed my countenance. “What happened, Aurora?”
I rubbed my temple. “I don’t know… I just feel so tired since morning.”
Evelyn squinted at me as her lips curled into a smile. “Would you mind going to see the pack doctor for a checkup?” she asked, rubbing her stomach.
I rolled my eyes and sat on the chair. “I already did… nothing was there.”
Evelyn groaned, “Well… I feel it’s coming soon.” noveldrama
I raised a brow. “What are you now? Some fortune teller?”
“I’m your friend, and I know you are looking quite…” She paused and looked at her dress. “I better go get ready for the mall, I want to look my best, who knows if I will bump into my prince charming over there.”
I chuckled and she rushed out of the door. I dropped my gaze
and saw Tristan looking at me with so much intensity. “What happened, baby?” I asked him.
“Are you feeling well, Mum?” he asked. “You look tired.”
I sighed as I rubbed my eyes. “I feel tired too.”
Tristan got up and took my hand. “Enough work for the day, come and rest in the room.”
I smiled as I followed him. “You are just like your dad, very sensitive and caring.”
Tristan grinned, but he shrugged and we continued to the room.
I got in and Tristan helped tuck me into bed before he left the room. I couldn’t help but smile.
I closed my eyes and slept off.

It was time for the ball, Dane and I had walked hand in hand into the ballroom. Lila was standing by the entrance and she ushered us towards our seats at the center.
I looked at the beautifully decorated ballroom and I was amazed at how quickly they put everything together on such short
notice.
The golden seats and tables were arranged in a circular form around the dance floor in the middle. A beautiful chandelier in
the middle and many other lights placed strategically brought the room to life.
Many people were seated already. Though I looked around for Alina, I saw her sitting in the special seat I had reserved for the repentant folks in the pack. She caught my eye and she smiled at me. I nodded at her, giving her a smile in return.
Dane and I took our seats, he leaned to the side as he whispered in my ear, “E
“Even though I am upset that you set this up without informing me, I am still impressed… this is good for the pack, it has been a while since we had a celebration.”
I turned to him and met his gaze, he seemed to be looking into my soul. I smiled as our noses lightly touched. “Thank you, Alpha.”
He smiled and took my hand as he kissed it, his eyes dipping to my lips. “Can we forget everything and enjoy tonight?”
“I would love to,” I replied.
I never wanted to hurt you, Dane… I love you so much. I will tell you everything as soon as I fix things for Piper and Warrick.
Dane kissed the back of my hand again before dropping it on my sleek dress. He put his arm around my waist from behind as he pulled me in and I leaned my head on his shoulder.
The melodious song increased in volume and I slowly nodded my head to the beat.
Nothing would ever separate us, Dane.
Soon after everyone was in the ball, every seat was almost filled. Evander and the kids sat in a corner. Joclyn wore a shimmering royal blue ball dress as she went on the dance floor and began the event.
A round of applause went in the air for Dane and me, followed by the celebration of other important personnel in the pack, and then everyone else.
Trajan walked up to me and my eyes lit up when I noticed he was wearing a matching suit with Joclyn’s dress. He sat at the table next to me alone. I gave him a gesture and asked why he had the same color as Joclyn.
He shrugged and sighed that it was just a coincidence.
It’s destiny, Trajan, I said in my heart as I continued to listen to Joclyn. Soon she was done and she called the dancers up to the stage. They danced beautifully.
“Care if I share a table with you, since it’s closest to the stage?”
I turned to see Joclyn ask Trajan. Trajan nodded at her and he got up and took her hand as he offered her a seat.
“What’s up with those two?” Dane whispered to me, “Do you notice a chemistry between them?”
I giggled and turned to Dane. “I do.”
Dane smirked, and he turned to face the dancers. I looked around and I saw Piper and Warrick in a corner. They didn’t quite seem to be enjoying the ball.
I turned to Alina and saw that she was looking at Warrick. She had a soft smile; she didn’t know I was about to wipe off her smile and I think it is time.
The dancers left the stage after dancing and Joclyn took the stage again and she called up Rowan, Lila, Miles, Alina, and all the other members of the pack that had repented from rebellion.
She handed them all gifts as I asked her to, and everyone. cheered as they saw that, like a loving mother, I hadn’t rejected and punished them for their bad deeds, but instead, I accepted their repentance and welcomed them with a celebration.
I knew that would bring so much unity in the hearts of the pack members. Joclyn went ahead and asked all of them to kindly leave the stage. But she stopped Alina from going back down the stage.
“Alina… you wait, I have a special gift prepared for you,” Joclyn said.
Alina stepped back with her brows raised, but her smile was still intact. Joclyn turned to me and I winked at her.
I turned back to see Kyle walking down the aisle, he wore a mask, and he had arrived earlier and was seated at the back.
He reached the stage and he stood face to face with Alina who
was still confused.
Kyle reached for his mask and he removed it slowly, revealing his face and Alina staggered back in shock.
“Kyle?”
