10. Early Training Arc

“Okay, so you need to teach me how you got your fucking six packs man.” Tian kneeled on the ground with his hands pressed together.

“Do you even need abs? You’re strong enough… or I guess… resilient enough.” Crazel answered.

“Yes! Look at this!” Tian dragged his shirt up and a lump of meat bounced up and down.

“Hehehe, okay, okay, I get it.”

“Also, it has been my dream to be buffed. I was always lazy… but I did walk for a whole month in a duck walk stance.” Tian stood up. “But my legs don’t really seem that buff or changed.”

“Well, it’s simple Tian, working out as an immortal is very different. Some might think because you heal fast you could always just keep going without rest. But we heal… not improve. That’s the thing.”

“Then how the fuck do you have a six-pack huh!” Saliva sparkled across Crazel’s face.

“Eh… I won’t teach you anymore.”

“What! Wait!”

“So disrespectful men.”

“My saliva is a healing juice, it’s okay.”

“The fuck you mean by that.”

Tian kneeled and begged again on the floor until Crazel finally agreed. And so, with Tian’s training in check, it seems like the two had escaped the impending doom of their own training.

Working out, or muscle training, or… well whatever you want to call it. As an Immortal, you heal continuously by what your body thinks is your condition before any injury of sort. That’s only normal. It’s not healing, but being immortal.

Then the question comes, can you never gain muscles or anything like that? The short answer is… no.

“What!”

“Let me finish.”

But then what about the others who did gain muscle? Well, it’s simple, take it slow. Take it so slow that your own immortality doesn’t recognize that injury.

If you open your status screen and read the description of your skill, it shows.

[Immortality][Lv.4]

[Blessed by the God of Life and Death, as someone with the gift of Immortality, you will never ever change. You will not die, nor will you need any normal necessities, like sleep and food. You are forever to be you and you, you won’t age, living life as when you were given your fate.]

The God, who had given this curse to humanity explicitly says one simple phrase, “You are forever to be you and you,” simple yet horrifying.

“But the problem here Tian, is that your skill seems to be level four. That just means you regenerate faster. So I don’t even know if this is possible.”

“What?”

“That’s why I first said no… but I think… if you try… maybe in a few hundred years… you can succeed…”

“What!”

“But you have to really take it so slow… that’s the thing.”

Tian stared blankly at Crazel, “Then where did your guy's six packs come from?”

“We’ve always had it.”

Tian stared again and turned around. He headed toward Mark and said a few things.

Crazel stood still, trying his best not to laugh. He watched as Mark and Tian walked slowly to him. Mark looked down at the ground and scratched his fingers.

He had been with the two for only a year, and they had lived together for only a few months, so he knew that mannerism.

“Fuck… why can’t Immortals just make muscles easily. I mean it should be fucking obvious!” He yelled.

“What’s obvious, Crazel?” Tian said with a smug face.

Crazel blinked his eyes multiple times and stayed silent. “Well, anyway, now… how about we go through some… “Training Arc” should we.”

Mark and Crazel looked at each other’s eyes and to the ground. As scared as they are to feel whatever is incoming, the man in between them will always be a guilt machine to the two. We’re they pussies? Yes. But like what an insane man once said. “If you can’t harm yourself, make someone do it.”

It had only been three years since humanity had been transported into the other world. A lot of people had given up on life and those who stayed worked hard to fight against their trauma just to live like an animal.

Three years sounds long, because… well, it is long. It is incredibly long when you live those years with every waking moment in fear of something. On earth, if you have lived for a year, you have only been awake for mostly sixty percent of it, but when your in this world… you should learn… that sleep doesn’t exist.

The first day of the training went in some simple terms, a howling land of the dead.

“Okay, do you know what I’ll be doing to you guys?” Tian asked.

“Well… as you are holding a spear… will you cut our limbs? Or like… stab us?” Crazel asked, as he was the only one out of the two who even had the guts to speak.

“Ah, well one of those is true.”

The two gulped at Tian’s answer.

“You might have to close your eyes for this Kailey, unless you wanna.” He gestured his head and eyes toward the two.

“Yep… my eyes are closed now.” She may have wanted to watch the two suffer. But maybe just hearing it is better than… well, experiencing it yourself.

“And our eyes are closed too!” Crazel yelled.

“Oh, you’re not allowed to close your eyes,” Tian replied.

Without hesitation, Crazel opened his eyes, there really was just no choice.

Tian walked a bit and picked up another spear from the ground. The two watched as sweat dripped down their entire body from what was coming. The two thought the same thing, “Is it really morally right to watch the man you willingly agreed to kill you?” It may sound like an exaggeration, but it’s better than an understatement.

“Okay! I’ll count to three!” Tian held spears in each hand.

“One!”

Mark and Crazel stood side by side, at about half a meter of distance from each other.

“Two!”

Tian stood exactly in the middle of the two while Kailey had her eyes closed shivering behind him.

“Three!”

It may be sloppy but with the spears held like a guard; vertical spear at the front. He aimed at the two chests and stabbed as hard as he could.

The two’s natural instincts tried to run from the incoming attack, but it was far too close for them to even react. And surprisingly, Tian was quite fast.

“Ahhh!”

Mark and Crazel fainted. They screamed for only two seconds before they fell to the ground. “You two fainted at the start of the kidnapping, right? We’ll do this until you don’t.” Tian turned around, “Well you can open your eyes now.”

Kailey slowly opened her eyes, it was silent, with no yells, complaints, or heavy breathing. Tian walked to Crazel’s dead body, as Kailey had a hard time catching her breath.

Her chest felt pain, pain that reflected the spear at her chest. She remembered how at the start when she woke up from the black room with a lot of people, the pain that she felt for even just a second made her throw up and faint again.

Tian held the spear struck to Crazel’s chest and kicked his body as he pulled the spear out. Kailey fainted and fell to the ground. “Thud,” Tian heard.

“Oh… what? Is she scared of blood or some shit? Well anyway, it’s going to take a long time before they heal from this so… gotta go make my weapon!” Tian moved on to Mark and pulled the spear just about until the spearhead was inside his body.

He kicked Mark until he laid down on the ground upward and straight. “I’ve always wanted to do this.”

“Huwah!” He yelled and pulled the spear to the sky. Blood sprouted out to the ground and Tian spun the spear and flew away. “Ahh!” He ran and chased it.

Tian dragged the three back to the camp and it had already turned night. “How time flies…”

He didn’t have many plans on what to do after this… predicament happened, but there really was only one thing he wanted to do, and that was to finish his weapons.

Tian dragged his stones and sticks back with him to the camp. Simply because he didn’t want to leave them all alone, it was a weird feeling in his chest, but he knew it was just care… which… was comforting… it was weirdly comforting.

“Anyway! Rocks time!” Tian stationed a few meters away from the camp, but it was still in the empty area and they were all easily visible.

Weapons. Now, in a dystopian world, not of the modern one, but a more medieval one. There are many types of weapons. Of course, the spear is the most obvious. It is a really interesting history, one of humanity's first full-fledged weapons.

It only needed a long and sturdy stick, a sharp rock, and a rope to tie it with. But weapons aren’t only made for survival. There's a reason why different weapons exist, spears just isn’t for everyone.

Tian… was a mess of a person. With his bad memory.

“Oh wait… that’s why…” He looked at the three sleeping.

A memory like his could literally forget anything in just a few hours. It even takes actual hours just to remember some things about his past, but some do stick, he doesn’t know why… but things like the weeb shit he had done… never leave his mind.

With the sharp stone, tian picked up a boulder the size of both his hands. “I could have looked for a different rock… but it’s okay!”

Tian began to stab the rock with his sharpened one. After a single light stab; to avoid breaking the pointed rock. It left a small ash and a white exterior, “Okay…” He gulped and continued.

Throughout that night he continuously tried his best to make a dent. But soon enough his sharpened rock breaks and he had to make another one. Thankfully none of the three; though a little concerned for Kailey, still haven’t woken up.

He continued for days. Concentrated on his small yet arduous goal, days passed without him even noticing. The wind blew cold breezes, the sun burned his skin, and rain drenched his clothes.

Days passed and he had only managed to scrape the top of the boulder after spending way too many sharpened rocks. But he didn’t give up. Not a single cell in his body ever had the thought of giving up.

If any normal person would just throw the project away, lay down on the ground to take a break, or even give up to sharpen small rocks just for it to instantly break. It was all painful and some were just plain pointless, but he pushed and pushed.

“Tian.” Until Kailey interrupted his focus. He didn’t even know how many days it had been already.

Tian looked up and paused for a second. What’s her name again?

“Can I ask you to do something?” Her eyes looked to the side and her hands were tied down to her thighs.

Kailey! Oh yeah, almost forgot. “What is it?”

“Can you kill me?”
