Part 4: Touch

Part 4: Touch

After a few days of rest for the injured old man, they continued to train.

“This is the hardest sense of the three, touch,” Sir rimuru stressed.

Indeed, the ability to see using vibrations from the connections between two things was the most difficult. It wasn’t some thing that could be mastered in a few months.

It could take years and only few people in the entire world was capable of doing this.

“Your going to need to use your ability to hear in this as well.” Sir Rimuru put in.

“Feel the ground. Listen carefully. Wait for the vibrations to connect with you.” The old man spoke with experience. Even if his words sounded simple, it was the exact opposite. The task of ‘feeling the ground and hear vibrations’ was beyond impossible.

”Concentrate!” Sir rimuru snapped

It was feint but it was their. He could feel sir rimuru landing into the floor and jumping to move again. But in order to feel these vibrations he to put all his effort into concentrating to actually feel them, this meant that he had lost all contact with the outside world except for the few vibrations he felt.

After hours of standing still and getting used to what the vibrations felt like, Jin was still only at beginning. He could strike now, but was very delayed.

“I don’t expect you to master this one, just the basics for now and eventually you will become a master” emphasised the old man who then made his way back to the cottage to rest.

Later on the day, Jin had to go get fire wood.that was easy, but he couldn’t tell where he was going. Not only that but carrying a log back home was another task on its own, this challenging task was part of his training and Jin had to go through it every day. This rigorous training was no joke, mistakes could lead to death and constantly working could easily tire someone out, yet Jin had to do it.

It was difficult. But Jin never gave up his long hair blew in the wind and his clothes attempted to do the same. He stood still, trying to get better at ‘feeling vibrations’

It wasn’t as simple as that though. If he wanted to feel the earth it would have to be with his bare skin.. or this is what Jin thought.

Removing his leather shoes, he stood there and felt the earth. He concentrated hard, he listened carefully and waited for the slightest movement. And it was the right move. He could feel every little movement. From rabbits leaping here and their, to ants marching in a line. Jin’s speed of growth was spectacular. He hadn’t mastered it, no that would be way to crazy, however he did become able to use it to his advantage. Jin made his way to the cottage, Opened the wooden door which proceeded to make a loud creak. And walked in.

The inside of the cottage was quiet comfy. Within the living room there was a brown couch and a table that was slightly lower in front of it. On the table was a plate with food, most likely for Jin, and underneath it was wood and coal in a little tub, the multilayer tables was something Jin hadn’t seen before training. Around a meter away from the table was a fireplace, the fire was on and embers of flames hit the ground, too small to cause anything to happen though. Jin sat down and ate his food. He thought about how to improve on his new task. It wasn’t something that would work without thought being put into it.

Next morning, outside the both of them stood, Jin on one side and Sir Rimuru on the other. Sir Rimuru leapt towards Jin expecting to easily move out of the way and continue to attack in a pattern. But to his surprise Jin’s foot had made contact with his stomach. It wasn’t as bad as when he got punched, but the old bad definitely felt immense agony. Jin held back and yet the Sir Rimuru still went flying.

“Whats with that insane amount of strength you have…” Sir Rimuru’s voice could heard. “Let’s go back in, I want to talk to you” he added.

Later in the afternoon-

“Jin… iv taught you all I can. I’m afraid I can’t to do more.” Sir Rimuru went on.

“ Old man I can’t be anymore thank full to you. “ Jin comforted.

“You improve at an remarkable rate and so I doubt you to struggle in life but be careful” the old man insisted.

Jin had thought about sir Rimurus words "Can I go back to town..?" He added

"Hmm I'll take you somewhere the next day..., just remember... try not to get into fights and prioritise your life" sir Rimuru finished on.

The next morning they set off back to the village. Jin was able to walk, jog, sprint etc normally now. He didn’t need to see to be able to do things that every human could do. Furthermore, he was able to fight and defend himself. Once they arrived at the village a series of whispers went around..
