After the meeting between the leaders of the remaining factions, they all split up once more. It was now strictly a battle between Baron’s group and Wang Yi’s. There was an understanding between all 3 groups of what the role they had to play now was. Everyone returned to their own territories for the impending war.
Baron, Lu Mu, Guan Yu, Yue Fei, and Jaxon decided it was best to spend the next little while running simulations on how they would be able to defeat their enemies. They knew that Wang Yi, Eumenes and the other 3 would be doing the same thing as them. It was now a race against the clock to see who could come up with something that would be able to beat the other. There was one distinct disadvantage that Under 1 Banner had working against them. It was that they had never really recovered to their maximum potential after repelling that huge coalition army.
Sure they were more powerful than when they began the fighting, but they could have been so much more powerful if they were given a bit more time to gather their resources and such. However, to ask their opponents for more time to prepare was an absurdity, to say the least. Not to mention that there really was no precedent for such an unreasonable request. The battlefield was open to whoever had the guts to begin the fight, and both sides kept a close eye on each other all throughout this time of uneasiness.
Then, after just 3 weeks of planning, Baron and his group had decided to take the initiative and take the battle to their enemies. What their plan involved was that they would send Baron, Guan Yu, and Jaxon into enemy territory with 3 armies in between them. Lu Mu was tasked with defending their own territory as there were no guarantees that Wang Yi would not send an army or two to go on the offensive. The alternative being to focus on an all-out defense strategy. The ultimate goal of this was for them to either take out Eumenes or Wang Yi. If they managed that, then their jobs would become much easier. Of course, achieving this goal was not so simple and that was why they brought Jaxon with them.
As it stood now, Baron’s group held the majority of the eastern part of the map as well as parts of the northern parts, Ding Lai Hang held most of the western and bits of the north. That left Wang Yi with the southern territories under his command. Jaxon would lead an army to go on an offensive straight to the enemy’s capital base. However, Guan Yu and Yue Fei would first lead an army of planes and a few ground forces to take a detour a little bit more to the west. The same went for Baron except he would lead the smallest army out of all of them and would go on a path slightly to the east of Jaxon. The order that they were going to launch their offensive was Guan Yu and Yue Fei, then Baron, and finally Jaxon. Lu Mu would stay at the bae to make sure that they would not fall in the absence of most of their fighting force.

Once all 3 armies made their way into enemy territory, all 3 were met with intense pushback from Wang Yi’s bases in their outer regions. This was definitely a surprise as this was the first time that Baron and the rest had experienced such sturdy defenses without a strategist present. However, it would not be enough to stop them and they continued to press forward as fast as they could. Time was of the essence and if they were able to get the jump on their enemies, then this offensive would bear fruit.
Over the course of the next 3 months, the 3 armies made their way at a steady pace through the lands of Wang Yi. Oftentimes, one of 3 unnamed strategists would come out with a small army to try and stall, but they were beaten back fairly quickly each time with minimal losses. There was no word of any attacks from Lu Mu in the usual reports so the 4 of them in enemy territory knew that Wang Yi and Eumenes were still most likely to be in their own territory.
The progress that the 3 armies made was fast, and they were now close enough to the capital base of their largest opponent to just barely be able to see it with the naked eye. All 3 had sustained some casualties, but not enough to discourage them from pulling out as of yet. Baron then combined his squads with Guan Yu and Yue Fei's. Even like this, Jaxon still had a slight numerical lead as compared to the others. Then, just as they had predicted, a large force came out from the capital base. Baron's group rushed in to intercept them which allowed Jaxon the freedom to lay siege to the magnificent base in front of him.
As soon as Baron, Guan Yu, and Yue Fei had a few bouts with their enemy, they knew that it was without a doubt one of the toughest strategists that they have ever fought against. In all likelihood, it was either Eumenes or Wang Yi that they would have to surpass in order for them to assist Jaxon. The fighting continued on for the rest of the day with neither forces being able to get any momentum going.
This was just a tribute to how well both sides managed their forces to create very few exploitable points in their formation. It would not be easy for U1B to beat Wang Yi's group and vice versa. However, if there was ever a moment where both sides fought as hard as they could, it was during these few days. Jaxon needed some time to crack the defense of Wang Yi's capital base, and if Baron's group was not able to defeat their current enemy, the risk factor increased dramatically.
