First quest

He patted his cheeks repeatedly, trying to verify what he was seeing. This... this must be a dream. How could an ordinary third-year student like him, discover things still being researched by medical personel until now? It felt quite absurd and strange. Besides, he had never heard of the location of this place at all. Arc Tower 8th, sounded like a ridiculous place name. This must be a hoax that might have been deliberately created to prank Asher. He then decided to ignore the message and focused on checking his status.

"An excellent trick, developer. But I won't be fooled." Asher immediately closed the message, pointing his finger at the player status section.

"Hmm... I have only a small amount of mana energy for now. So it seems I have to use my magic energy carefully."

Just as he closed his status, a red arrow appeared under Asher's feet, directing him forward, passing through the wild grass around him. He followed the arrow's direction until he approached a large brown gate in front of him.

"I think there must be something behind this gate."

Asher slowly pushed the gate and his body became frozen in an instant. His eyes widened as he had not expected that there would be a village filled with players walking around like a colony of ants behind this gate.

" Oh my, I never thought there would be so many people in this place before, and I'm not used to this kind of situation at all." Asher clutched his hands together tightly.

As Asher observed the village's surroundings, a small white light darted from the distance towards him. He tried to look at the figure of the light, but he couldn't see it clearly at all. The shape was too small, making it difficult for Asher to describe the strange light. The white light got closer and closer to Asher until finally, he could see the figure completely—a figure that Asher himself had never met in the real world.

"Welcome to the fairy village of Altaria. My name is Navi." Navi smiled. "Welcome, Asher."

"Oh my, is this for real?" Asher widened his eyeballs, the jaw of his mouth slightly opened. "The visuals of this game, it looks authentic." His hand tried to touch Navi's white wings.

"Hey, hey what the heck are you doing!" Navi flew away from Asher, her expression reddening. "No! You can't touch fairy wings directly. That's rude" She folded her arms, her face wrinkling.

"Uh, sorry, I've never seen a figure like this before." Asher scratched his head, his face reddening. "I'm just surprised to see such a real fairy right before me."

Navi sighed, seeing Asher's expression. "Well, any new player will do the same as you, but never mind I'm sorry. Let's go. I'll take you to your first mission."

"Huh? The first mission?"

"Yes, that's right. Come with me."

During the journey to the first mission, Navi explained that since the crystal lost its light, many horrible creatures appeared out of nowhere and began to invade all areas of the world and kill the races in the world. They were called the Darkness - creatures that brought chaos and misfortune.

The panic and fear that engulfed this world made everyone unable to do anything. All efforts have been made to restore the crystal light, but unfortunately all the strength of the races in this world is not comparable to the darkness, so some of the races decided to hide, trying to escape the pursuit of darkness, especially the fairy race.

But the effort did not last long. Darkness always found the existence of the fairy race and began to destroy it until the fairy population decreased very quickly. The dark period continues to haunt this world for long time and so their hopes were dashed.

However, darkness does not always rule this world. A glimmer of hope appeared when he heard a prophecy from a fortune teller in the village of Altaria. He said there would be heroes from other worlds coming to help restore the light from the crystals and bring everything back to the way it used to be.

"First, I think the prophecy is a lie." Navi chuckled, disbelief still clearly etched on her face. "But, it turns out I’m wrong. The prophecy was true and I’m so happy to meet you.” She smiled. “All right then, we have arrived at Altaria square.”

Asher's mouth opened slightly when he saw the crowd of players crowding the Altaria square area, which was far larger in number than when he first entered the Altaria village gate. Asher's goosebumps instantly rose. Honestly, this was the first time he was able to see a sea of players directly in front of him.

"Right in the center, the fairy elders will appear and explain about the first mission. Come on, we need to be among the crowd to hear what he has to say."

"No. I think I can hear enough in this position. Being among the crowd of players makes me feel uncomfortable" Asher immediately clasped his hands together, his face briefly stiffening.

"Okay, Fine. Fine. If you want to stay here, but just stay here and don't move. Fairy elders will be here soon. "Navi shook her head, seeing Asher's strange behavior. "All right, I will go back again to the Altaria gate. See you later, Asher." The fairy darted away quickly, leaving Asher alone.

Only a few minutes after Navi left, three strange lights flashed quickly towards Altraria Square. The red, green, and yellow lights like traffic lights were caught in Asher's eyes, trying to break through the crowd of players waiting in the town square. The three lights swiftly passed through the crowd of players in front of him until they were in front of a large fairy statue, right in the center of Altaria square.

In just seconds, the eyes of the fairy statue flashed a light into the blue sky, projecting a large screen into the sky. The three elders' visuals were instantly visible on the screen, making all the players who stayed there instantly raise their heads, looking towards the screen including Asher himself.

"Welcome heroes, we're so glad you're here. " The fairy in the red hat greeted all the players with a warm smile.

"Now we will send the first quest to each player's account." The fairy in the yellow hat snapped her fingers. " Take a look."

"Quest 1: Training (required)"

Player level limit: Lv 1-5

Recommended class: all classes

The fairy elder created a simple simulation to level up the players enough to accept the next quest.

After reading this quest, Asher slowly stroked his chin. There was no hesitation on Asher's face when he saw this quest. Without lingering, he immediately picked the quest. Only a few minutes later, a strange red symbol emerged throughout the Altaria square area and all players immediately teleported to a forest.

" All right, now you all have to kill slimes in this place until your level reaches level 5." The fairy in the yellow hat instructed. "When you reach level 5, you will automatically return to the Altaria square. Alright, good luck."

Just a few minutes later after the fairy in the yellow hat gave instructions. Bundles of pink, spongy, jelly- creatures hopped like rabbits around the forest. It must be the slime. Asher and the players immediately began to spread out into the forest, killing all slimes with no mercy.

"Well, only two more levels. I can get out of here." Asher rubbed his palms together, excitement shining in his eyes.

Suddenly Asher felt a strange vibration right away around the forest, causing all the trees in that place to shake endlessly. Strange, what exactly happened? Soon, one Slime appeared behind the trees. However, its shape this time was much larger than before, so Asher had to raise his head to see the creature's face completely.

"Come on everyone, let's defeat this thing!" shouted one of the players in the crowd.

Hearing that shout, all the players immediately swarmed around the huge creature and simultaneously began launching attack after attack at the creature until it finally died. All players immediately reached level 5 and all of them simultaneously returned to the Altaria village.

"Quest 2: Search for the missing fairy 1/5 (part 1) (required)"

The fairy elders received news that some fairies were still missing in a forest not far from the fairy village. However, the place is full of horrible creatures.

Recommended classes: Magic Swordsman, Assassin

With zero hesitation, Asher and the rest of the players immediately accepted this quest. Seeing their enthusiasm, the fairy in the green hat just smiled. She then led all the players to the location of the second quest.

"Behind this door is the forest of Altaria. It's a forest filled with terrible creatures waiting to attack you. I hope you all stay alert and careful here. The creatures here are much different from the ones you fought before. Please be careful."

The fairy in the green hat then cast her spell and instantly the gate in front of her opened, revealing a row of shady trees in front of their eyes like the training forest before. All the players decided to walk into the forest, leaving the green-hatted fairy alone in front of the Altaria village gate.

Cold air touched the surface of Asher's skin as he stepped into the forest. He had no idea why but he felt that this forest felt quite eerie. The atmosphere was too quiet and there were only leaves falling- there was not a single creature in sight. It instantly gave Asher goosebumps, feeling like he was in a ghost town.

As Asher was paying attention to the surroundings, a strange movement behind the bushes was visible to Asher's eyes. At first, he thought that it might have been a gust of wind in the forest, but it was not. The movement looked so intense that it made Asher even more convinced that something was behind the bushes, but what?
