Chapter 47- Dungeon Delve: Battle of Titans Part 1

Well shit! I am now being forced to stick around. Not waiting for my reply, Midgardsormr ascended from the underwater cavern and in a matter of minutes was already at the surface. Not stopping there, the serpent commanded the elements and proceeded to take flight. I would have liked to fly with a dragon or serpent in this case but not while caged since this serpent is most definitely an enemy to the world. After a few minutes, we came to a halt as Midgardsormr gazed in the direction of the floor guardian and the almost endless hordes of monsters.

I too looked at the floor guardian and this time took in its full appearance. The Beast was a Godzilla sized Chimeric Minotaur. The beast had 4 bullheads looking in every cardinal direction. On top of each head were horns made of 4 differing elements, darkness, fire, earth, and water. The beast's torso was that of a human but unlike normal minotaur, there were 2 pairs of arms.

On its back were 2 pairs of eagle's wings with feathers made of mithril and orichalcum. For legs, instead of a bull's hindlegs, were a pair of a lion's hindlegs with fiery smoke billowing from each foot. Lastly, a grotesque centipede acted as the floor guardian's tail with its own set of legs, antennae, and teeth. The centipede's head had some kind of liquid dripping out from its mouth, which upon hitting the ground created the thick gloomy smoke filling this floor.

When I first saw it days ago, I could only see its tail and wings wrapped completely around it as it lounged or slept. Now, I just want the thing to go away. Better yet, I want to get away from here. At this very moment, the floor guardian was killing wave after wave of monsters while keeping one of its heads focused on this direction.

The head with fire horns focused solely on Midgardsormr. Great disdain feeled its eyes as it "mooed" in our direction. In contrast, the serpent was not impressed by the floor guardian in the least bit. Cackling to itself, the serpent mused at the sight of the battle before us. Afterwards it spoke in this world's language,

"Mortal filth, gaze upon your death as you fade into nothing!"

Saying such, the serpent inhaled and spewed caustic flames over the entire battlefield. The flames eroded everything within a 50-meter blast zone, with the floor guardian at the center. Roaring out, the floor guardian replied,

"Filthy snake! You dare to spread your taint in my master's realm. I will offer you entire being to the core as atonement for your very sinful existence! My master will be pleased as the dungeon expands using your corpse as the foundation!"

The floor guardian, after finishing all he dared say, lifted his left hand to the air. In response, the mithril feathers on his wings flew out and joined together forming a baleful axe emitting the same gloomy aura the dungeon radiates to the outside area around it. Once completely formed, all life around the floor guardian began to wither and die. Not stopping there, the beast's wings too began to emit the same gloomy aura which formed phantom versions of his feathers.

Seeing the floor guardian's changes, Midgardsormr simply scoffed and commanded the elements to rain down on the guardian. I on the other hand was stuck in the magoi cage floating next to the serpent. Even if I wanted to flee, I wouldn't even get the chance unless their fight became life threatening for the serpent. Since I have no choice but to stay, I observed their fight looking for ideas to help improve my combat abilities, and a chance to maybe spring free from my bounds. While they fought, a new endless wave of monsters swarmed from all over the floor. This time, monsters that originally did not leave their territory joined the giant horde.

As I watched, horror glazed my face. Midgardsormr was trying to create a dungeon break!! The serpent, using the caustic fumes emanated from its body has somehow drawn even more monsters to this area. Additionally, they only attacked the floor guardian and not the serpent as if they were abiding by a command. What I didn't know at the time was Midgardsormr despite being an adolescent serpent when compared to Ouroboros and Jormungandr, the serpent was using a racial ability called Abyssal Domination.

Abyssal Domination is an ability which forces any who is exposed to the serpent's bodily fluids to be almost completely under its control depending on how long they've been exposed. Since the serpent had been inside this dungeon for many thousands of sols, it is a guarantee all the monsters save the floor guardian were completed indoctrinated by the serpent. In my case, I too was under its control; however, I was not exposed to the caustic fluid for too long. This would prove to be vital when I escaped the cage.

Anyway, I remained trapped in that magoi cage for 5 whole days! The battle had been raging for 5 days straight with no end in sight. Although taking some hits, Midgardsormr appeared to still be in peak condition. Even the floor guardian was not injured greatly. Nonetheless, the floor guardian grew tired of the constant fighting,

"Moo!! Sinful snake, I am tired of fighting you, prepare for the end!!"

With that, the pair of orichalcum wings underwent the same changes as the mithril wings, feathers flying up and gathering together. Only this time, the feathers formed an armored golem which looked identical to the floor guardian save the pairs of wings. The golem roared to the air and began to sweep through the monster hordes like a farmer reaping wheat. It was a one-sided massacre! Freeing itself of the annoying monster wave, the floor guardian began charging its axe with magoi and the smoke filling the dungeon floor. This caused the axe to grow in size and take on a more detailed and baleful appearance. With a resounding roar, the floor guardian attacked shooting a beam towards the serpent.

In response, the serpent fired another blast of caustic flames. When the two attacks collided, a shockwave went out and destroyed all the monsters that were caught in the blast. In addition, the shockwave almost changed the entire landscape of this area, making everything with a 200-meter blast radius completely flat. Even the magoi density dropped to a point where for at least 20 minutes the area within a 200-meter radius was completely void of magoi, creating a vacuum effect which caused a series of explosions to ring out in the surrounding area. This was World War 3 all over again for me! I needed to get out of here fast or I would die from just the collateral damage caused by their attacks.

Midgardsormr was not spared by the shockwave yet didn't seem to care for what it considered minor scrapes and bruises when comparing the price of creating a dungeon break. Still, the serpent grew ever annoyed by the resilience of the floor guardian, growling the serpent cursed,

"You are hard to kill, you fucking roach!"

"Hehe, all the more reason I became a floor guardian of my master's domain. But I have no desire to continue our little game. That attack was only a little taste of my power! Here, have some more until you can't take anymore!!" The floor guardian replied.

Yea, I only hope, I can survive this exchange, as my cage was rattling from the shock wave of their fight. (Damnit I need to get the hell out of here!!!)
