Inside the cabin, the warm air quickly dried us off. I quickly headed over to my things and grabbed my signet ring. After put on my signet ring which bore the Markov crest, I pulled out a flowy peach colored dress with white floral trim at the hem and along the outside of the sleeves. The design trails its way from the sleeves to around the collar of the dress.
There are small amber magoi crystal acting as buttons going down the center of the dress from the lowered neckline to the waist of the dress. The gemlike buttons were also made with delicate embroidery surrounding each gem. The dress also had matching sandals with the same embroidered amber colored magoi crystals.
Originally, this was to be a gift for mom, but I decided to give it to Ivy since it was more fitting. After handing Ivy the dress, I also put on a uniform similar to what dad wears. The difference in appearance were the many different markings and embroidery. The outfit was given to me by Elder Alamdarra showing my status in elven society. As an inheritor of an ancient elven bloodline, I had a very high position in elven society. Should I ever go to another Elven clan, I would receive the same courtesy as a living ancestor.
Now fully clothed, I gently took Ivy’s hand, and we made our way to the house. This time without hiding my presents, we walked inside and headed to the family room where we were met by Andy, dad, and mom who was grinning from ear to ear. Andy looked as calm as usual, whereas dad had his typical frowny face on. I can never tell if the man is sad, mad, constipated, or just disappointed. Mom on the other hand was super easy to read since she always showed her feeling in her face. Once we arrived everyone was silent until mom said,
“Andy… at first, I couldn’t believe a single word you said, but now this is more than enough proof. Oh, to think Ivy the mandrake had evolved into a new race and wanted to be with my son. Even my own baby boy looks like a grown man now, wife in hand. Oh, how they grow up so fast.” Mom was lost in her own world with no hope of escaping it. After a minute of mom’s shenanigans, Dad finally posed the real question,
“Yuriy…son, did you completely inherit your ancestor Grand Enchanter’s lineage and bloodline?” Dad asked, hesitations leaking from his voice, afraid of saying the wrong thing. Seeing this I sighed,
“Yes, father. I have officially inherited ancestor’s lineage and had undergone complete bloodline transmutation; therefore, according to Elder Alamdarra I am technically a living ancestor to all dark elves despite my age.”
Hearing my response, I could see how proud dad was, and yet sad I no longer share any connection to the Engelberg family. It seems something happened with Geoffrey maybe. Thinking this I asked,
“How’s Evelyn and Geoffrey doing? Are they safe?” Hearing my question, both mom and dad glanced at each other and filled us in.
“Evelyn passed the entrance exam for the Tower and is now an apprentice of an elder within the Tower. Sadly, she will no longer have any connections with us given the soul contract she signed. Officially, she is no longer a part of our family.” Hearing the news, I felt saddened by it,
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Geoffrey on the other hand has started his training and will take the trial of inheritance in 3 sols at the latest”.
Dad finished. At least one of his eldest children will remain connected to the family, albeit the Engelberg family and not the Markov family. Which means only 2 children will technically belong to both mom and dad: Katya and Saphire. Speaking of my sisters, I don’t see them here. When asked, mom responded,
“Katya is currently in the newly built workshop working on her golems. Saphire had cried herself to sleep after hearing Evelyn was no longer her sister. But enough of that. Today is a joyful day. For I now have a new daughter! Oooo and I love your dress Ivy, it really enhances your natural beauty.”
Mom said circling around Ivy as she examined her outfit. With mom in a tizzy, I proceeded to take out the gifts I had for my parents. 10 stacks of different magic ore 100kg each for dad, and a soccer ball sized sapphire alongside red and blue outfits similar to Ivy’s for mom. Seeing the gifts, dad placed the ore inside his storage bag, and mom dragged Ivy away, bye-bye for now, I guess.
After speaking with dad for a little while more, I went to the bed in my room and launched myself into its depths. A few minutes later, Ivy came by and laid next to me. A part of me wanted to have sex some more, but I resisted the urge. God I was never this insatiable in the past. I just can’t help being mad thirty all the time when I’m around Ivy. Seeing my gaze, Ivy came close and whispered in my ear,
“I’m yours remember, anytime, anywhere. I also can’t stop thinking about having you deep inside of me.”
“The offer’s enticing, but restraint is in order…for now.”
I replied. We laid in bed until dinner, then afterwards went back to bed. To be honest, I don’t want to do anything else, but what choice do I have? 12 sols may seem like a long time, but it isn’t long enough for me…sigh.
The next morning was my 7th birthday and still after getting myself dressed, I headed to the back of the house for a morning workout. It’s been a while since I did this at home. After about 30 minutes, I headed to the forge located in the detached cellar. Dad told me yesterday during dinner the forge was made for me as a birthday gift after finding out I was crafting weapons and armor.
Unsurprisingly, Andy had been giving dad and mom regular updates on the goings on of their children, no complaints here since it beats having to go 10 miles west to the nearest village. Anyway. For the next 3 sol, I will be spending my time forging and practicing my magic. Currently, I can only make decent iron armor. My goal is by then to be fully equipped with magic metal armor and not magoi infused iron and steel.
As I walked down the cellar steps, a marvelous sight appeared before me. The forge itself was a firepit 1/2 meter deep and had a diameter of 6 meters. There was an anvil made of orichalcum to the right of the firepit, a trough for metal quenching and a pully for stoking the flame all bunched together but not in the way.
By the left wall was an armorer’s workbench, a grindstone, tanning rack and what looked like a loom. By the right wall was an alchemic workbench used for enchanting items and refining materials needed for smithing special ore and monster parts. Lastly, by the wall opposite the entrance sat an unknown magic apparatus.
Apparently, this obelisk is an arcane smelter. Unlike the traditional smelter, this obelisk uses magoi from the blacksmith. As long as I provide enough magoi to it, the arcane smelter will remain lit for months. Anyway, I will strive to create the best armor for myself, and then armor and weapons for Ivy, Katya, and her golems. Afterwards, it will be easier to convince mom and dad to allow us to join the League of Adventurers!
